Could I?

I really want to get a boxing world going, but I don't think I can do it yet with TBCM, ....I like using all fictional fighters, with aging, prospects, retirement, and some lineage tracking......can I do this right now or no? I'm not really up to date on all the data base releases, and the proposed aging formulas...can someone instruct as to how to do this if you play the way I do....thanks

You can (I have been since the day the game was released), but it does take some work.

Fictional Fighters: Easy to create. You can save a lot of time if you just use the actual fighters & edit their names & a few ratings.

Ageing: You just need to adopt an ageing formula. There have been a number of different ways to do this discussed on the boards. Retire all the fighters so you can use the career stages feature to do the actual ageing. You just need to decide how you want to determine when the fighters reach each stage. I use an Excel spreadsheet & a formula based on the fighter's record to calculate ageing after each fight.

Retirement: Again, you just need to decide when you want fighters to retire. Some people use a set number of fights. Others use a point system (which is what I do).

Lineage Tracking: I do this by using the fighter's biography page to track his individual lineage history. For each division, I've also created a dummy fighter with the name being the division title (e.g., "AAA Welterweight Champion" - I use the last name AAA to ensure this always shows up at the top of the name index). Then, using the biography section for that entry I chart the division's title lineage.

Rankings: You can use the game's ranking system. Personally, I've never been too happy with the way the game ranks fighters so I still do it manually using a spreadsheet.

There are certainly many other ways to do it. It depends, in part, on how "hands on" you want to be. But, it can be done.

I admire your spunk to create a bunch of fighters yourself. I love this game because it's based on real fighters.

I recently found this big punching Heavy named Tommy Gomez. His nickname apparently was "Tampa Tommy". To have to make up a world we were handed in this fine game would involve a lot of work but I tip my hat to you for trying.
