I've e-mailed Jaret about this, and I'm sure he's looking into it.

That's strange, mh. It says the two I put in most recently -- featherweights and lightweights -- have been downloaded 67 and 43 times, respectively. PM me when you get a chance, please.

The download for featherweights and lightweights is now 85 and 51 times, respectively. However I'm still not having any luck trying to download these files. Mark if you have any idea what I'm doing wrong, please get in touch.

I just tried to download featherweights from CornerWork 4 times. I got a message "The Page Cannot be Found." Downloads was set at 99. After the 4th try downloads was set at 103. It seems to be counting unsucessful downloads as sucessful attemps!?

I e-mailed Jaret again yesterday, and received a response today saying he had fixed this. You should be able to get them now, guys. Go for it!

I dont understand how you guys can download all these fighters and not get completely overwhelmed with chaos. The way I run my universe, it gets complicated enough after about the 3rd or 4th "game month".
I would like to try these fighter packs out but I cant bring myself to do it for 3 reasons: 1. There are almost 4,000 fighters already. If there were any more, I am afraid I would get overwhelmed. 2. All of the big name, "important" fighters are already on the game. I guess if there was a fighter from my hometown or something, that I would download him, but other than that, these fighters at cornerwork are nothing more than guys I would use to pad the records of the good fighters. 3. They aren't rated by Jim. Dont get me wrong, I dont have a problem with having fighters on my game that aren't official and I dont mind changing the rating myself (for a handful of fighters)... but not thousands of unofficial fighters. To me, that would make the game seem and feel really generic. Please dont get me wrong, I am NOT bashing you guys who are downloading fighters. In fact I am applauding the fact that you can do it without losing your head. I am just explaining why I cant get into it. I would like to someday, but after I am done messing around with the other 3,496 fighters.

I can't speak for everyone else but I know the reason I download fighters from cornerwork is because my universe begins in a 1948, so if the fighter wasn't active within the time frame he is not in my universe which means I dont have 4000 fighters I have fourty (I only do HW) So Cornerwork helps cause The guys I download are used to pad up the records of fighters like Marciano and Star, Ect..

Badguy;
I can't speak for the others who rate fighters, but I do it for three reasons: 1.) The all-time greats are all in there, but there are many champions, contenders, favorites and opponents who are not, particularly pre-1960. 2.) I like for the opponents in my universes to be actual fighters from the era, and actual foes if possible, for those greats and others officially in the game. 3.) I enjoy researching the fighters and ranking them for the game. It helps me with a feel for the fighters and the era, and improves my knowledge of boxing history. Like eric, in this case, I delete most others and just keep the ones from the time period I'm using for the particular universe. That clears most of the clutter. When you do that for the older timeframes especially, however, you realize if the fighters fought actual foes, and even those from their own general era who they didn't actually meet, they still are likely to have less than 25 fights and their records will be far worse than their actuals. This is in no way to denegrate the Trunzos' efforts, because they have done a far better job of getting the cream into the game than most people would. I would also agree with your unspoken contention and say that their official ratings are more likely to work accurately in the game, because of their understaning of how the system functions, than the fan ratings. However, a majority of the fan ratings have been very close, in my opinion. Nevertheless, those of us who rate and use fighters appreciate very much the option the Trunzos built in to create more for those favorites, "opponents" and others missing. I like it when others share their created fighters, and I share in return with the hope my efforts are also appreciated. Not trying to get in a big argument here ... just offering my perspective. The great thing about this game is its versatility, and that everyone can enjoy it in their own way. Sorry if I got long-winded. Peace. ![]()
