Tuesday Night Fight "Tomato Cans"

Did anybody see the July 20 Tuesday Night Fights?

There was a bout near the end of the show, 18-year-old Nick Casal vs one Tim Crane. Before the bout got under way, Teddy Atlas was, to put it mildly, extemely disappointed that Crane was even allowed to fight. He had been knocked out in all 6 of his previous fights, and to my non-expert eyes he looked "punchy" and out of shape. The "fight" lasted 44 seconds. Crane barely defended himself, and was knocked down 2-3 times before the ref decided enough was enough.

The strange thing was, Crane seemed angry that the fight had been stopped.

I've heard the term "tomato can" often enough, and have always hesitated to apply that derogatory term to a man who has the guts to make his living with his fists. But I'm beginning to understand how the presence of guys like poor Tim Crane in professional boxing allows better fighters to pad their records. I was astounded at how incompetent he seemed. Even the most out of shape 1-rated fighter in TBCB has to be better than Crane was last Tuesday. I'm sorry I didn't tape the show to remind myself that some of the fictional fighters I'm creating need to be really, really, really bad.

In order to have a more realistic TBCB universe, we perhaps need a lot of fighters rated "0" and "-1". The game's lowest rating of "1" is just too good for guys like Crane and a couple other "club fighters" I saw on Tuesday Night Fights.

yeah its really unfortunate they allow this crap to go on. Its really people who are down on their luck and step in to a fight. The first punch that comes close to their head they jump on the ground. Some are alot more obvious than others the way they do it. How they are ever allowed boxing liscences is one of the main reasons we need a national commision.

I watched that awful fight. The commission should be ashamed of themselves. Imagine whats going on if that bout made it to TV.

With respect to TBCB. The default is "1" so even if you create a fighter with "0" control factors and a chin, knockdown and KO of "10" they will still default to "1." In actuality, that fighter would have a negative number in the old game and perform as such (if you can call that performing). My understanding is that negative numbers in the game can throw off the programming formula and cause the game to crash.
