Great site- Fight downloads

Hi boxing fans. I just discovered a sweet website that hosts torrents of boxing matches. You need a free membership to browse files and know how to work bit torrent. Membership is limited so hurry! http://boxingtorrents.no-ip.org/

Or you could just download Emule, search for "boxing" and download about 100 matches right there, going back to Rocky Marciano. No need to sign up for anything. Would bet the majority of matches on BT are the same as those on the Mule.

The thing about bit torrent is the high download speeds because everyone DLing is also uploading at the same time. I routinely pull 200+KB/S on a hot torrent. The standard p2p networks style apps limit your DL speed to your host's upload speed.

Erm... No. At least in regards to Emule. I routinely get over 100kbps, whereas my upload is capped at 10kbps. (Would have it higher but I'm already sure the jackboot of my ISP will kick down my door any day now).

No no Bonedwarf. Not kilobits (Kb) per second, but kilobytes (KB) per second (huge difference). In kilobits my DL speed is between 500-800 kilobits per second with really hot torrents going at a Megabit per second.

Hey Bronx,
The torrent files are like a key to get into the network. You have to have the bit torrent client installed on your machine. Then double click your torrent file and it will ask where you want to save the fight film at. Probably about 2 hours for your typical fight. I hope this helps.

For anyone having problems with this whole torrent thing.... go to www.sourceforge.net and download a program called Azureus, then download the latest version of Java at www.java.com (Azureus requires it)... Then go to http://suprnova.org and start reading the sticky threads in the "How To" section of their forums. There are also alot of apps, games and movies available at suprnova. Just remember, when you type in the address for suprnova... there is no www., its just http://suprnova.org . Hope this helps.

Excellent site. Thanks for the link...

Anyone know where I could find a tape/video of the Chavez/Taylor fight that Richard Steele stopped with 2 seconds to go. That was probably my favorite fight of all-time.

your favorite of all time was watching Taylor fight his guts out and then gets robbed by a referee?

The outcome wasn't the best, but that doesn't change that it was one of my favorite performances of all time. Taylor really put on a great show that night against an in-his-prime Chavez, and he also really took a beating as well. It was a travesty to have it end the way it did, but that doesn't change how good that fight was.

point taken. I guess even though the outcome was a tragedy... it was still an excellent fight... as you point out. It is a shame what that fight did to Taylor... he was never the same. He could have been an all time great, but it turned out the exact opposite. Speaking of Taylor, I thought his ratings in TBCB were too low, so I raised them a bit. If we are talking about a prime Meldrick Taylor, then he should be a 10 or 11 overall... regardless of what happened that night.

Agreed, he needs to be rated much better, and that fight really did finish him. It was a shame, I thought he was even better than Whitaker at the time.

whoa, whoa, whoa! better than Whitaker? not only was Pernell the best P4P fighter of his time... he is #1 on my ALL TIME P4P list!!! believe it or not... i dont think there has been a more gifted and pure boxer in the history of boxing. Pernell was a magician in the ring during his prime.

I was probably one of only two people to think that then (Meldrick being the other), but that is how I felt at the time. Hindsight tells me I couldn't have been much more wrong. And Whitaker is probably my all-time favorite fighter as well.

Great site, Cube.
Thanks for letting us know. I'm now totally into downloading fights that I've never seen or haven't seen for a long time. For me down here in Holland it gives me new options to watch fights. It also gives my wife new reasons to through the computer out of the window.
