Freitas Vs Corrales predictions?

This weekends great match up between Freitas and Corrales could be a classic - Who is everybody picking?

Also, what is the consensus on Freitas HP (hitting power) for him at JLW?? I have him rated as a 10 HP.....Wondering if that is a little high ...maybe a 9 is more like it???

What about Corrales? HP ?

My guess is Corrales wins by 8th rd TKO -

If it goes to a dec. I'll take Freitas....

In the fights in which I have saw Freitas his punching power has never seemed as hard as people claim....(what I read in Ring magazine, etc) - Which is why I am wondering about tweaking his power down to a 9 (which is still very good)....

I think Frietas will come on strong early, as always. I see Corrales coming on around the sixth round, much like Casamayor did against Acelino but...I see Frietas winning a close split decision.
I'm going with Frietas one way or the other.

The more I've thought about this fight, the more I like Diego. Freitas doesn't have the speed that Floyd did to beat Diego. I think Diego has the bigger punch & with his size can probably outbox Freitas as well.

I have a feeling that Corrales will have an even bigger punch. His frame is more suited for heavier weights.

If he had a chin the sky would be the limit.

Freitas has been very protected for awhile now...sometimes he shows up to slug and other times he wants to box. Should be interesting. I believe Corrales will be able to land some big shots and take a late KO win or points decision.

I like Freitas for his aggression and accurate power punching. Diego has the reach on him and should be throwing long range bombs all night. I got my money on Freitas TKO(Cuts).

Just simmed it. . .scores

114-114 Even
114-113 Corrales
and
114-113 Corrales

Freitas had Corrales down in the 5th.

The unofficial ringside scorer had the fight scored 116-112 Freitas.

All in all, a dam good fight.

I did a simulation and Freitas beat Coralles almost every round and the first and only knockdown came in round 12. Frietas flattened Chico and i thought it was over but he stood up and took a beating for the last minute. Frietas won a unanimous decision on evrybodies score cards.

Frietas has just showed me he has no heart. He got hit hard a few times and quit. Chico landed very few punches when he was moving, Frietas just stopped moving and took the shots. If a fighter has no more heart than that he does not need to be a fighter in my opinion.

yeah but Freitas is a great fighter, he made the right decision to quit if he is mentally shot to hell and cant proceed then he should and not just stay in there and get pummled some more. He most definetly shouldnt have used so much energy moving around but if he didnt move he would have gotten hit w/ the right hand alot earlier. This should tell people how good not only Corrales is but even more Floyd Mayweather.

Chico did a damn good job, fretis came ouit fast chico kept punding those sides because fretis defense was his hips and once his hips left he couldt move his head so he moved his whole body which was good for deigo because he could counter which he did.

For the guys who said he quits after takinga couple shots! MAN ARE YOU ON CRACK! this is not like roberto duran when he quit not because he hurt but because he was tired of chasing and getting embarrased but Fretis couldt move his hips his legs was heavy from runing and he took 4 straight hard shots from deigo before getting hit near the temple, fretis looked hurt he prolly done better-for rep to either stay down or get up and look dazed so the ref can stop instead of getting up and moving around feelin what he had left looking at deigo who harley used energy, and knowing he couldnt move his hips or legs and just let the ref stopped it, but on in on Chico did a great job!

He did something most sluggers dont do he broke his guy down, he do what james toney do, he went to the body, fretis hips was sore, granted fretis was still movin side to side in round 7 and 8 and some in 9 but he couldnt get low and move his head like he was in round 1-4 because those hips was sore, Chico if he fights right fight can break down maywheather, because from round 1-4 freits look quicker then maywheater (atleast to me) Great fight great game plane by chico.

Freitas

My point wasn't a negative regarding Freitas. I have no problem with him as a fighter. I agree this was not another Roberto Duran "No Mas."

My only point was with due respect to Freitas, Eder Jofre's is the greatest fighter to come from Brazil.

I dont care what you say i am on, quiting is to me a show of no heart. If you are gonna fight, fight to the end whether its yours or thiers. Quiting to me is not an option, take your beating like a man and try to give some back.

Easy for you to say, But if you 5'5 and you been down three times just got hit on the temple, And it feels like you have 30 pounds on each leg (thats how they felt from running) im not his fan and, i hate a quiter but at least it wasnt a ruberto no mas where he just go tired of being the hunter and bein out slicked, but was never hurt, this guy was looking at chico in the eye knowing he (Chico) wont be denied and said hell i can always come back I dominated the firs 4 rounds, no need to die in this fight. He has a rematch clause And he told the braizlian press he will be fighting chico again in december so look out for that.

dam Erick, wish I could read your posts. seems like you are saying something but Im too impatient to try and figure out what you're saying. Im not raggin ya dude, but it seems if you took the time to write this stuff, you prolly want ppl to know what you mean.
ahh well. its my prob

Fighters don't quit though. You don't have to be a boxer to know this. Freitas fought a real fighter for the FIRST time and quit. This was his first big fight, he quit, and no one cares about him anymore except for his legion of female fans in Brazil and Erickdamack Bye Acelino. Hello again Diego---don't ever fight Floyd again.

LOL bam, God I do rush too much, its hard to find time to write a half good post, But the buttom line is you see great fighter like ali and holyfield give so much in the ring taking to much punishment, and now look at them, im not saying its right, but To say he is a punk or a bitch because he quit after being knocked down three times, and hurt, is alittle out of line.

he gave it his all and felt thats all he had, its not like what roberto duran did he quit cuz of frustration to me thats worst because ur not losing and you quit? But to be down 3 times and your legs are gone, you have no energy! and to have a big puncher who can really hurt you not for that night but for the rest of your life! Come on give him a break, its not like he just gave up he got up 3 times and gave it his all.
