Title History

Hoping for a little help?
I have finally decided to set my universe but i cant find a title history?
I hope this is in the game as i have spent weeks setting up my universe and it is alot of work(spreadsheets and such) to keep a track of everything and if i have to keep my own title history i may just shoot myself!
please tell me i am just blind and have overlooked it
Thanks

Nope no Title History. It may be in the next patch... but maybe not. I would suggest that you keep the Title History in the spreadsheet with the rest of your universe management stuff.

Another one of those missing items (like championship belts) that, from the outset, I've never quite figured out. I mean, it seems kind of obvious that you'd want to keep track of the championship lineage.

Anyway, I keep track of mine within the game itself rather than on a separate spreadsheet for easier access. I do this by using the biography section of a faux fighter file. For each division I used the new fighter creation feature to create a title history file. I gave the file the surname of "AAA" so that it would always show up at the top of each division when sorted alphabetically. The first name is the name of the division. So, for example, my heavyweight title history is listed as "AAA Heavyweight Title History." After a title fight, I just enter the results in that division's biography & I can access the info without having to switch to my spreadsheet (which I use for ageing & ranking).

Just remember to keep the "Include in Autoschedules" box blank so that your title history doesn't end up getting scheduled for a fight.

It seems like a no-brainer to include this feature in the game, but until that time this has worked decently as a stop-gap measure.

Seems that the original designers conceived of TBCB as a way to sim single bouts or possibly a tournament or two. It never occured to them that gamers would want to simulate the whole sport of boxing. Role-play was even more exotic a concept. When you consider the fact that even in the board game days some folks created AUs (Alternate Universes), it does seem strange that the creators fell behind the gamers when computers entered the picture.

Now where did I leave that new patch? Oh, yeah. We haven't received it yet.....

It's a very smart idea and a good way around one of the games shortcomings.

So, could you post an example of exactly what you write for your histories? Is it detail, or is like "Boxer X - Lost belt to Boxer Y after 3 successful defences".

I'm embarrased to admit that I learned that lesson the hard way. By the way, for the record, my lightweight division title history was KO'd by Boom Boom Mancini in the second round.

I just keep mine short and simple: "Glencoffee Johnson KO 9 Roy Jones." If it is a TKO by cuts, swelling or an injury I'll make note of that as well: "Lennox Lewis TKO 6 (cuts) Vitali Klitschko."

Because I make a separate title history file for each division (as opposed to a single one for all divisions), you can see at a glance the actual lineage of each division. In the individual fighter's biography I do provide a more detailed description. For example, Lewis' would have read something like: "In his second defense of the Heavyweight Championship Lennox Lewis successfully retained his title against Vitali Klitschko by TKO 6 (cuts)."

Glad I could be of some help. I too hope that it shows up in the future but so far there has been reluctance to add features that may be construed as "role play" oriented. One can still hope they'll see the light.

Took the words right out of my mouth. The fact it lost is the funniest outcome for me, too.

I remember being amused at the time that my title history actually lasted into the second round. Heck, it did better than Art Frias.

Maybe I should put a check back in the box and see if I can get the title history an entry into its own title history.
