Online boxing league?

Long time ago when I was a kid, I had this game called fight night. u could make boxers, edit ratings and have the computer play both boxers.. a few of us Kids (at the time) created our own boxing world, and managed our boxers under cpu control keeping our own stats on paper, and what not.

I stumbled upon this game and was wondering if it would be possible to start say a league of my own using this game with custom boxers and allow others online to join the league with there own boxers?

is this possible to do? I havent look on boards much for posts about leagues like this.

thanks

John

You have found what you are looking for. I have been following this game for over a year I don’t post much but I read it all the time, I stole (thanks to all those with the good ideas) all the ideas for my own MW boxing world. When i first got the game i just did dream match ups and tournaments but now as I said doing a MW alternate history. if you are going to setup an online league let me know i would love to manage a fighter while letting you do most of the work

While making my own leagues I would start off small and add things as I went along.
At first maybe get a few people onboard, using only one weight class give them a few fighters to manage have only one title and then use a forum or message board for people to post challenges. Then run the fights after a set time.
Now that was basic I know but once you start with this you get input from everyone that is involved and build on it and test the ideas all the time using it as a work in progress. Once you have it set up then you start again using all the ideas knowing it’s all tested and working.
You will need some bums for people to beat on at the start so guys can pack their records and some sort of money so that a fighter can buy himself a title shot ala. Don king! With title bout you can pick the place and give a fighter hometown advantage so money could come into that.
I have heaps of ideas but like I said start small work with it a bit till you get the depth you want.
I started using 20 boxers and over the months have moved to a 3 tier system with the 1) world stage, 2) Americas and international 3) continents with over 300 fighters and that’s only for MW I cant do other weights as I think I am getting radiation sickness from my CRT!
I cant wait to see what you do and look forward to helping out

Yes I am starting small with heavywieght class first. Add as we work on it.. but right now I want people to join the league then together we can come up with a create boxer rating system. then move on from there with ideas, I dont really want this to be MY league I would like it to be OUR league. once I get a few people to join we can all begin work together

john1974,
I currently have an online boxing league. Not exactly sure if it's how you plan on running your league, but feel free to check it out and contact me if you have any questions on it (or even feel like joining it...)

the address is http://cba.mindwipesports.net/index2.html
