Tarver/Johnson Forfeit Belts

The sanctioning bodies denied their request for it to be a unification bout, so instead both will drop the titles. Roy will come in, fight some tomato can, be crowned champion again and be proclaimed the best pound for pound.

The sport is great, but the business sucks like a nickel whore.

yea I read heard this today too, what BS, even though titles don't mean a whole lot these days, kinda kills the magnitude of the fight. I heard both guys refused to fight their mandatory, and thats why they removed the title bout status.

I don't think they are forfeiting them(belts) though G

I think its great that they both ditched the meaningless alphabet belts , thats the beauty of the Ring Belt which will be at stake.

I agree with you. The Ring Belt, even with some of its flaws, is starting to look better and better.

Yes they sent the bodies letters informing them that they are realeasing there belts to avoid being striped or force to fight the #1 contender, Side note They will be fighting for the IBO title which nHBO is not calling the REAL TITLE LMAO. And another side note is that tarver was going nto nfight briggs, now that he ditched his belt Guess who signed Briggs? Don King! Briggs will be fighting on the undercard of Zab vs. Spinks 2 on Hbo sometime in feb look for him to fight Griffen or hall, Jack mosley (shane faTHER) trains Briggs.

LOL I think that calgze lol guy is the IBF number 2 ranked contender behind Rico hoye who beay (Lostto) griffen for the number one spot, he could fight him and win it.
