Williams does it again?
Was anyone else as infuriated as me during Danny Williams live interview with HBO before the Mosely-Wright Fight. His statements demonstrated just how out of touch with reality he is. Lampley asked him if he felt beating an over the hill Tyson makes him the best qualified fighter to be facing Vitali Klitchko. Williams actually had the nerve to say yes and then point to the three rounds where he faced what in his words was a "top conditioned" Tyson.
What???????? Is he referring to the Tyson that was injured for 2 1/2 of the rounds he is talking about. Give me a break Danny!!! His rationale is laughable as we all know he would have been out of there if Tyson's leg wouldnt have held him back. I was so upset I felt like going to vegas and getting in the ring with Williams myself. In fact I am going to call that bum out. I'll fight him anyt time and any place. Danny if your listening, I am going to teach you about speaking disrespectful and saying stupid things. Its going to be you and me and when I get done you wont be able to spew anymore of your anti-Tyson venom. It is my advice you cease talking about how your win over Tyson makes you deserve anything more than a pat on the back and a re-match with Tyson. You have crossed a line and your day will come. Either with Tyson or with me. It is also worth noting that Vitali also tried selling Williams as a legitimate contender. However you could see he was uncomfortable doing it. But Vitali also said something that in my opinion showed what great man he is. He said that Williams ruined his dream to fight Tyson so he was now going to ruin Williams dream of getting a title. Vitali that is the greatest thing you could have said. Tyson fans everywhere applaud you. Then, once you have put Williams in his place, give Tyson a shot at his dream and fulfill yours as well. Its the fight boxing needs. Its the fight the heavyweight division needs. Make it happen.

He has certainly 'livened' the forum up a bit.
As for Williams/Klitschko, in the boxing news a few weeks ago Danny's trainer Jim McDonnell said that he had spotted something in Klitschko from watching tapes of him, a weakness that Williams could exploit. He said that when he told Danny about it, Williams almost cried he was so happy. There is a lot of money going on Williams for this fight. He is the fittest he has ever been in his life right now and in my opinion will be more up for it than Vitali. Klitschko probably has more ability, but when that bell rings you need more than ability to win a fight. Williams has so much courage and heart after beating Tyson. Danny can take hard shots and come back from them, he proved that against Tyson. I just feel if Williams can come through the first 5 rounds and take what Klitschko throws at him, Vitali will slow down and Williams can put a little more pressure on him in the middle rounds. Those who think it is a formality that Williams will get beat will be very surprised when they see the fight. He may have some poor results on his record but that's in the past. He's sounding confident, looking sharp and will be well up for the challenge of bringing the title back to England. |

I have said very little about Danny Williams on this board up to now, i was going to save it for as the fight got a little nearer. But OK here are my thoughts. The truth is i am sure very few here know much about Williams because he resides in UK (our homeland) so of course thats understandable as they only can read his record, so let me try and enlighten people a little if i may. Williams has a good jab and decent boxing skills, what he has lacked in the past is a belief in himself. Williams has always looked a class act when sparring but a few times he has for some reason not been able to carry that performance into the ring with him. He now has beaten the guy they call *the badiest man on the planet* Mike Tyson. IF and i must stress IF that leg injury was as bad as Tyson made out, in fact it matters not to Williams. His confidence must now be sky high. Now if he can carry that new found confidence into the ring when he meets Klit i fear some people are in for a big surprise. Klit also had 32 stitches in a cut in the Lewis fight, that wont take long to reopen if Williams can get his jab going. I really think Williams has more then a fair chance in this one. Then again the great Joe Louis admitted he was the world's worst at picking the winner in a fight. So if i am wrong hell that's no disgrace Guys. ![]() |

One thing is obvious with Williams, you gotta finish him when he's hurt. You can't stand back and admire your work the way Tyson did.
The way Vitali fights, successive overhands, short hooks, and that weak, but "peppering" jab(sometimes illegal backhand)- I think Vitali's fighting style will be a plus vs Williams...and Vitali CAN finish an opponent. We saw that against super-bloat Kirk Johsnon |

I think it is evident that this forum is very bias toward my man Mike Tyson. It is also my assessment that not many people can deal with the truth either. It seems that this board is content living in the reality that HBO bestows upon the boxing world. I for one see things beyond what HBO tells us. I see that Tyson still has something left, I see that Williams does not deserve a title shot, and I see that boxing is need of one true champion.
To call anyone the true champ is ridiculous. Lewis was the last true champ and he left the sport without ever having lost his title. That left belts up for grab and several mediocre fighters with those belts. I believe that we should be looking toward a tournament to determine the one true champion. Do recall that it was during a tournament like that that my man Mike emerged as boxings dominant force. Matches with fighters like Danny Williams is bad for boxing. Its also bad that HBO has made the match into a pay per view bout. I mean they gave us the Sanders-Klitchko match for free why are they making us pay for this crap. I will not stop until Danny Williams is exposed. That will happen in December....I am sure of it. Not only that but I am also sure that Tyson will have a title by the end of 2005. Anyone who doubts that will surely be eating crow by the years end.
