Newsboy Brown

I don't know how many of you have come accross this before, but I thought that I would toss it out to you. I came across the website linked below a week or two ago and have realy enjoyed it. It is one of the most enjoyable fan sites that I have ever come across. It is a tribute to Newsboy brown and chronicles all his major bouts with a bio bit and a round by round recounting for each. You can read about LaBarba, Newsboy Brown, Izzy Schwartz, Panama Al, Dado, and Vacca and Curry (both of whom I rated this week)

I can get lost in this thing for a few hours at a clip - hope someone else can have as much fun as I've had.

That was great! Thanks for the link. It's stories like that which make boxing and boxing replay the best sport/hobbie/interest there is. Team sports are great, but boxing exposes the individual athlete like no other - right to the core.

Glad you liked it. After going through a good chunk of the site, I felt that I had been part of the lower weight scene in the twenties. Whoever put this thing together did a wonderful job!

thanx for the great link! Wow! Newsboy brown had victories over Frankie Genaro and Midget Wolgast and held Fidel LaBarba to two draws. That's amazing. You learn something everyday. He should be in the hall of fame definitely.
