Career/Role play mode needed badly

First of all this is not meant to bash this game, because in some small ways its a very good boxing sim,but it should be so much more, how could it not have a career mode? to me thats just unforgivable, and for those of you that want to tell me that it will be in the TBCB 2 i dont want to here it. Ive been a sports sim fanatic for over 20 yrs so i am a experienced gamer,so when i bought this game i invisioned being a boxing Trainer, having a stable of fighters ,bring them up the ranks, buying ,selling ,negiotiating contracts, interacting with fighters and so on.Boy was i wrong, nothing of the sort.Unstead i get a boxing game with a bunch of fighters, but no real substance, just have to use your imagination and fight whoever.Kinda cool for awhile but gets old, theres no real point or objective to the game. That would be like making a baseball game like lets say ootp and just having a bunch of teams and a scheduler and saying there you go, use your imagination,it doesnt work. And now there telling me i have to buy another version of the game to get a career mode, thats totally unacceptable .This has been troubling me for some time.Because like i say this is a very good boxing program, and my hat goes off to the developers ,whos hard work and assistance is greatly appreciated .I bought this game shortly after its release for 35 bucks, incomplete in my mind.So is it really fair to charge more just to get a career \role play mode?

I don't think that the site said anything about a career mode in this version and they do offer a demo. Perhaps it is plunking down money before investigating what you are buying that is unacceptable Just a thought

First off, why didn't you read the product description before buying? Secondly, if you are as you claim to be, a sports sim fanatic for the last 20 years, then you should know there have been plenty of sims that didn't have a career mode.

Unacceptable? You think the owners of the original Madden or FOF have been getting free games all this time? What about the owners of the original Microsoft Office? Developers update software, add features, and release new versions. How can these guys make a living at this if they didn't release new version and just gave out free upgrades?

I hope your attempt to whine yourself into getting a free game fails.

I don't really think that is a fair critque of the game. This is for all intents and purposes the first hearty incarnation of the game. The first one was badly hamstrung by the programmer and it is nowhere close to this version, which shows what is possible in the hands of a competent team, backed by the knowledge and the passion of the Trunzo's.

What this game is to me is the most detailed and immersive sim of it's kind and the natural growth progression, which comes from feedback, increased knowledge of the sport by the programmers and the support of the community will undoubtedly not dissappoint. I have no problem shelling out the money for the next version as I am sure it will be more "career" friendly and will also give me my money's worth and that much more, as this version has. Where else can you get this type of community support in terms of input, boxers, pictures, etc?

And has already been addressed there was no attempt to insinuate this game had any of the features you say should be there now in the demo or description, again if walked in blindly without investigating the game more thoroughly and trying the demo, I don't see how you can raise this type of criticism?? And if you have feedback you feel will help the game progress to a true classic (already pretty close IMO) then visit the feedback forum and contribute in a positive way.

That said, it's too bad you are not satisfied with the game, for whatever the shortcomings, perceived or real it is still the best thing going for Boxing, and I want to see it evolve to even greater heights, so if I seem like a fanboy fine, but this game is the game I have waited for since I first opened the original Title Bout back in 1981, so I will defend it against what I feel is unfair criticism such as yours.........In a calm, professional manner of course

Its really an historical simulation game not really a "make your own boxer and build your stable of fighters game" People have done it with this game, and i'm sure they would be happy to help you with that aspect. You can amp up your knowledge of the sport by playing this game , maybe you'll be interested to learn more about some of the fighters from the past.

You say you bought *This Game* shortly after its release.
Wow thats a hell of a long time ago to now decide to complain about it.

The guys are right, you only have yourself to blame. No where did it say that TBCB was in any way a role-play game. Plus as they also said there was a demo.
TBCB is pretty much a rehash of the old board game Title Bout it has never pretended to be otherwise. We all would like the game to have been much more. Problem is just as in real life you dont always get what you want.
Best learn from your mistake and dont waste your money again.

Having said all that you tell me who makes a better boxing simulation and i will buy that in a flash.
Cheers

Scoman I agree It is weird not having a career mode it makes you the Boxing saction or god, instead of promoter, trainer and whatever but save the bull**** about spening your money you played the demo and you knew what you had.

A lot of people were disappointed that it didn't have a career aspect to it. I'm not one of them. But as everyone has told you here, that is in development. If you visited this community in the past you would have certainly read discussions on the subject.

You will just have to be patient. Great things take time.

Your use of the words "unacceptable" and "unforgiveable" clearly give away your motives. You come here bitching about this now, after so long, in hopes of getting the next game free to get them to shut you up. Clearly they are not going to release the next version as a free patch. If you actually thought that, then I guess one of really is smoking weed, and it ain't me. So the only logical conclusion is that you are hoping that you can get something for nothing. And that something can only be the next version of the game since that's all they have to offer.

So I stand by my statement. I hope your whining fails to provide you with a free game.
