Help me out a little

I am an OOTP player (have bought 3,4,5, & 6); and decided to try this boxing game I keep seeing.

Tell me a little about this game please !

What I was looking for when I bought it was, a little like Mike Tyson Punchout from Nintendo. (Create "Little Mac" and guide him to a championship). Is this the objective ? And if so, how do I enter "career mode" ?

If not, tell me how to best enjoy this game (I have already watched Marv. Hagler beat Thomas Hearns' butt - I'm from Detroit )

This is not a career replay game although a version with that as the core is on the drawing board. This is a game where you create an alternate boxing universe with rules, time periods and sanctioning bodies of your own creation. The game comes with about 3,600 fighters rated and the folks here have rated another three or four thousand boxers. If you read the "Inside the Ropes" area you can see what some people are doing with this. Also, you may want to check out cornerwork.com for ideas on how best to enjoy the game.

create a boxing federation. hold tournaments for the title belts, let your imagination go wild and like Conn said visit cornerwork and some of the websites that people have created based on what is going on in thier universe.
