Tyson vs. Brock: An interesting match-up
I just read that future heavyweight champion Calvin Brock challenged my man Mike Tyson on Boxingtalk.com following his highly impressive win over Clifford Ettienne this past Friday. I wanted to find out how everyone thinks a Brock/Tyson match would go. In my opinion I actually think Tyson may lose. Brock in my opinion is the next big thing and packs a punch that will lead him to unify the division. I personally hope Tyson doesnt take this match and instead takes a few developmental matches before taking on a challenge like this.
I would personally like to see Brock take on and dispose of both Byrd or Ruiz and then at the end of the year or begginning of 2006 take on Tyson. If he beats Tyson he could then take on Klitchko for what in my opinion would be a heavyweight bonanza of a bout. I personally hope Klitchko fights either Rahman or Lewis and then takes on the winner of Brewster/Golota to unify those two titles. Then in March or April 2006 we can see either a Tyson or Brock vs. Golota or Klitchko heavyweight unifier. By then Samuel Peter will be primed and ready for a November 2006 title shot and we will be on the path to a heavyweight ressurection. Throw Mesi in their somewhere and in my opinion the heavyweight division just got interesting again. Let me know what you all think???

Tyson
The Tyson you speak of is one from a decade earlier, as if somehow Tyson is the guardian of the bifrost bridge. Tyson still has a few fights left in him, but he would have difficulty with many fighters out there today.
As for Joe Mesi he's as gone as Tommy Morrison from the heavyweight picture. No reputable sanctioning body should sanction him. Jirov, a cruiserweight, knocked Baby Joe's brain around. If Mesi did ever find a state that would allow him to fight, he would end up like Jerry Quarry, who in his last years couldn't remember his mother's first name and thought he had played pro football for a living. |

2. I'd rather see Mike fight those guys, and knock em out... 3. Mesi is not a true HW and won't last long if they allow him to return to boxing.. ![]() Last edited by Bam Bam : 01-25-2005 at 05:40 PM. |

Tyson pride wouldnt allow him to fight him, for me and greg speak on the messege boards alot, and he says tyson said the last thing he will ever be is a steppin stone for any young fighter.
Brock looked very braw, he went shoulder to shoulder with etien and kept getting hit with the overhand right, Byrd will take him to school, beat him inside then out, he is just too raw right now. Last edited by erickdamac : 01-26-2005 at 04:37 AM. |

Brock is too big and rangy for Rust Iron Mike at this point in Tyson's carrer. It would test Brock's chin to an extent, but I would say Brock in 4 with the big right hand in the middle of the ring.
