Braxton-Muhammad

Just watched their first fight on ESPN Classic(12/81). Good fight, but Dwight took control around the 3rd round and Saad just couldn't handle the relentless attack. Cosell hinted that Saad's 3 pound weight loss on day of fight may have contributed to the lack of of his normally superhuman stamina that night.

My question to you guys is: do you think Braxton is underrated in the game?
Muhammad wins well over 50% of the matches between the two I've done via autoscheduler. I'm wondering if, after all the beatings Saad took previously, perhaps he should be post-prime vs. Braxton.

Looking at overall ratings, I can see upping Dwight's control one point and maybe upping his punches landed to 38.

Curious to hear your thoughts.

I think all the wars had caught up to Saad Muhammad by the time he fought Braxton/Qawi. He was just awful in the Winbush and Edwards fights afterward.

I think the Braxton loss accellerated his slide dramatically, but I recall at the time thinking that it looked as if Saad Muhammad came into that fight already heading downward. I'm not sure he was all the way to the game's version of post-prime at the time he fought Braxton (afterwards, though, he was), but he wasn't at prime either.

I agree that Qawi definitely needs a minor tweak up at his LH & CW ratings -

I think Saad Muhammad was definitely a little on the downside when he fought Braxton, but I also think that it wouldnt have mattered. Saad at his best couldn't have beaten Qawi.

Saad at his best could have taken anybody's punch and I think he could have outworked Qawi...maybe i am biased though because I grew up in the Saad era. That's one of boys there.
