Have you ever come across a photo of Sakaria Ve? He was a WW from Fiji (61-19-6) from 75-2000. He wasn't exactly in your area, but more so than mine. I still would love to find Martin Beni too. I think I mentioned awhile back that I found a site from a rec center or something in Papua New Guinea where he was teaching kids to box; they had a photo of his students but not him. That's as close as I have gotten. Take care Shane, Christopher |

Chris,
Sorry mate but I haven't got a photo of those two boxers, but I'll keep looking for you. Marciano, Yeah , I'm pretty sure he is the one that was played by Pesci. Cheers, Shane.

JOEY LaMOTTA - MW (1945-1946) Overall Rating = 4
Hometown - Bronx, New York, USA Brother of Jake LaMotta 32(21)-5-2 Joey fought as a professional for a frantic twenty-two months. Over that period he faced 39 opponents, most of whom were not great fighters but did not lack experience. He beat Lew Perez, Lee Black, Ballesandro Carubia and Tony Riccio among others. He slowed down the pace a bit from March to November of 1946, losing and drawing with Joey Blackwood, out pointing Gene Boland, losing to Anton Raadik and twice to Freddy Flores. He was stopped once, by Flores. (I guessed his year of birth to be 1925) |
