Ha Ha Ha, SAL sure won out on this lottery getting that bum Bob Foster he should win this easily. Thats great man I'm so glad to be in the HBF were I can beat on on some lower rated guys at first instead of dealing with dudes like Foster in my first fight. Enjoy SAL.

James Ray vs Ray Leonard, what the hell KC are you hunting down my favorites in each division and giving them the hardest possible fights. First Javier/Norris, then SAL/Foster, and now this come on man show a little abit of heart. It looks like the Alliance is going to have to kick the training into overdrive as this is probably the hardest fight Alliance member has had so far.

It's been pretty crazy so far, hasn't it? That will most likely be the biggest fight of the first series in any weight division. A huge test for both fighters although I'm sure they're both already relishing the challenge it presents.

You mean lost the lottery don't you!
Talk about getting some big time seasoning right off the bat. Well........let's just hope I'm standing in the end.......win or lose.

It's been insane so far. When I saw the the WWs were up I was OK there are no forum guys in this weightclass so there shouldn't be any huge matchups I care about cause I forgot about James Ray. Then as I'm skimming the list and I saw the match and I was just shocked for second. Plus, with Starling/Taylor on the same card it should be a hell of a night. Short of Saldivar/Sanchez getting made yeah this will be the biggest match in the first round. I'm loving the lottery system so far.....

...of course, I don't think the same can be said of SAL. Well, on the bright side at least you find out where you guy stands real quickly and your next match has to be easier unless you get Spink or Tiger Fox or John Henry Lewis hmm it seems like chances are that your next match will be just as hard. Well, good luck and have fun and try to avoid brain damage.

After Molk had thanked Leonard, Sanchez and the other gold medallists for their assistance they left the stage, the audience applauding them as they returned to their tables. Molk then addressed the crowd.

"I think you'd all agree with me when I say that we've got some fantastic opening matchups on our hands, ladies and gentlemen," said Molk. "A number of those first series contests would be worthy of World Championship bout status and that's the exact outcome we were hoping that this scheduling lottery would give us."

The crowd applauded in agreement, some standing and cheering. A curtain was drawn over all but the front couple of metres of the stage.

"We will release the schedule for our Future Contender bouts in the coming days," Molk continued. "They will follow the same weekly pattern as the regional qualifiers with Middleweight first, then Light-Heavyweight, Welterweight, Lightweight and Featherweight. Well, folks, you can now stretch your legs for the next fifteen minutes, after which dessert, tea and coffee will be served and then we have quite a surprise for all of you."

Molk smiled and left the stage, returning thirty minutes later to address the audience one more time.

"We've had quite a night, but it's not over yet, folks," he said. "Here to send you home with a smile on your face is one of pop music's true geniuses, a man whose performances are legendary and whose body of work is simply epic. Ladies and gentlemen, please give it up for Prince!!"

The curtain opened to reveal the purple one himself along with a five piece band. The crowd went nuts, Molk smiling his biggest smile of the night and clearly proud with himself over having kept his biggest secret for the evening so secret. Over the course of the next half hour, Prince lifted the roof of the MGM Grand, delivering brilliant performances of, in turn, "Let's Go Crazy", "Cream", "Little Red Corvette", "I Would Die 4 U", "Raspberry Beret" and as a truly colossal finale, "Purple Rain".

It was the perfect ending to what was, without a doubt, a night of spectacular success for the International Boxing League...

I posted recently in the HBF thread that Vincennes looks like former NFL commissioner Tagliabue. Molk looks quite a lot like Denzel Washington. In fact, here's a shot of the IBL Chief Director from the opening night...

Thanks, Romy. You've been my biggest fan the whole way and it's always been appreciated.

Up next will be a review of the Atlantic City HBF card (which was taking place at the same time as the IBL opening night). There'll also be a review of the opening night, mentioning some of the more intriguing series one matchups that are scheduled to take place aswell as some big news for Jack Johnson and much, much more.

Stay tuned!

You and everyone else who posts down here take time out of your lives to share these universes with us so the least I can do is comment on them especially when it has been as entertaining as the HBF/IBL has been. I look forward to seeing what else you have planned for these two.

You're the 7th seed in Group 1 of the HBF Qualifying League along with myself. You haven't fought yet but your first match is scheduled for next month. Check this post and this post for more info on your guy.
