Great Super Featherweights Tournament 1
The tournament consists of 25 of the best or the more popular Super Featherweights in history. For the first phase, they will fight againts each other in a single round robin format. After which the 16 best fighters will qualify for the 16-man single elimination tournament to crown the champion.

Scoring for each bout will be as follows:
3 points by victory
1 point by draw
0 points by loss

In case of ties on the rankings after the round robin phase, the one with most ko's will qualify for the fianl tournament. If the fighters are still tied, they will fight each other in a sudden death match with the winner qualifying for the final tournament.

The number of rounds for the matches are as follows:
Round Robin Phase : 10 rounds
Tournament Phase : 12 rounds
Final Championship bout : 15 rounds

Rule set being used is the default WBC rule set found in TBCB

Wow, the three bets from my home country (PHL) all won their respective matches, although Pacquiao barely escaped with an SD win over Hector Camacho.
I'm hoping that 1 of them will be the one to win this tournament and this is a good start.

The Lopez - Nelson fight was just brutal. A total of 8 knockdowns for the fight and 4 of them coming in the 9th round.

Also worth mentioning is the surprising TKO losses suffered by 2 of the Mexican greats, Barrera and Morales.

And also it's interesting that Arguello's first match in this tournament is against Nelson (Arguello got a bye at the first day). I wonder who will win... I have a hunch its gonna be Arguello though

Looks like Erik Morales also got an easy opponent for his next fight and is sure to dominate unless he sufferes some bad luck, like getting cut in the first round of his second fight.

• Erik Morales has finally won his first match in this tournament when he beat the also winless Tony Lopez. Morales dominated the first three rounds but was mostly in trouble during the next two rounds. Round 6 was a close round with Morales winning by a slim margin. Round 7 was dominated again by Lopez which saw him knock down Morales late in the round. In the middle of round 8, Morales lands a huge punch which sends Lopez down, Lopez would get up but wasn't really able to recover from it as Morales lands punch after punch which prompted the ref to stop the fight in favor of Morales.
• A bad break for one of my Filipino boxers in this tournament, Ben Villaflor lost by TKO due to severe cuts to Alfredo Escalera. Also a bad day for Gabriel Elorde, as he was only able to get a draw in his fight with Tod Morgan.
• Manny Pacquiao continues his rampage with his second straight victory via KO. He joins three other boxers, Julio Cesar Chavez, Tyrone Everett, and Alexis Arguello, as the only boxers who are still undefeated.
• Marco Antonio Barrera also continues his winning streak, although by virtue of a rare DQ win over John-John Molina, after the latter was disqualified for head butting Barrera. It was an ugly fight with many fouls being commited.
