As soon as everybody gets their rosters at or under the 105 cap. After this first round of free agents, most teams will be close. I may only run the second round of free agents for 24 hours, then we could possibly start this weekend. If not it will be the next weekend.

Since all the teams that have cap issues have already submitted F/A claims, I'm going to close this round for free agent requests in 13 1/2 hours. (8:00 am CST, 11/08/06). Tomorrow morning I will post the free agent claims/releases and update everyone's roster, update the free agent waiver wire ranks and the draft pool. The free agent wire will open again for 24 hours after all is updated.

I've got a pretty tough opening three weeks with Tile Hill who's always fought as tough, the new and improved Bears Unstable, and Bonnar Springs who 3-0 against me. Of course, after that I've got nice little two rest against the a couple of expanison teams.

* Due to the nature of the five teams per division set-up, there's two teams (Dublin Guards and Chilton Roughnecks) who have three consecutive away games and two teams (MexiVilles and Tomato City) who have three consecutive home games. I tried a number of different scheduling sequences to try to avoid this, but each time would end up with it happening to a different four teams. I know it's not ideal, but besides this matter, the schedule is fair, with each team having five home games and five away games.

Trade
The McCune Mitt Slingers are sending HW (4)Tommy Morrison, MW (8)Carl Olson and their 1st round and 2nd round draft choices to..............

the Tile Hill Top Team in exchange for HW (9)Paolino Uzcudun and MW (11)Dick Tiger.

The Mitt Slingers might have been born yesterday but it wasn't last night.

I might be completely off base here but don't the expansion teams have a first year cap of 95? So the trade has put Sal 8 points over the cap right?

Nope, once the rosters have been aproved the Cap rasies up to 105. However, expansions team can't pick fighters up from the FA pool but that doesn't stop them from making trades.

Okay that's what it was, they can't pick up free agents for the first year ... I knew there was something. The two expansion teams last year were at 95 all year.

You guys are dead on. No patience what so ever. At least one thing is for sure, I won't be participating in the draft as I have no draft choices left. I'll just have to set back and run it like I have the past two seasons and not enjoy the fun of drafting.

They were encouraged to make trades to improve their rosters just as the 4 new teams this year have been. When I send out a request for the expansion rosters, I included the rules(from the Utba Rules) that concern an expansion teams cap points and how they move to 105 after they are made official and can try to make trades to improve their roster. These rules were in affect before bear and k_c came along.

By the way........I noticed that Left Jab Inc (lethal liberal) put his draft choices on the trading blocks earlier in the day.

Here's a section from the rules on page 2 of this thread.

All expansion teams will select two fighters in each of the 8 original weight classes (HW,LHW,MW,WW,LW,FW,BW & Fly) using the following guidline for drafting their team.

2 fighters rated 9
2 fighters rated 8
2 fighters rated 7
3 fighters rated 6
3 fighters rated 5
2 fighters rated 4
2 fighters rated 3

1) Expansion teams can select fighters from the stock database in the original weight classes(no Jr. or super classes) and they can also choose from the leagues draft/free agent pool. Expansion teams will be notified by the commissioner when it is time to submit their roster.

2) If two or more expansion teams are submitting a roster, they will be submitted to the commissioner at the same time. If there are any duplications of selections on two or more rosters, the commissioner will scratch those choices from the submitted roster and notify the expansion teams stating that they had a fighter scratched and they need to make another selection.

3) After an expansion team has assembled their initial roster and it is made official, their cap will move to 105 points.

4) Expansion teams will not be allowed to participate in the free agents in their first season. They can however try to improve their team with trades which would allow them movement toward the 105 point cap limit.

I am looking forward to the league. What a great idea this is! I am in the process of reading about the draft,so I will know just what I am giving away trade wise with my draft picks. I have a couple of offers and I will get back to you guys in a little while...just reading up first. I was reading the results from last year early this morning...exciting just reading about the league. A lot of good teams and a few of us expansion guys have a couple of decent fighters. Who knows..maybe the "Acorn" can get me a few points with his power. Of course, after two or three rounds he will be exhausted..so..lol. I noticed that one of my favorite fighters of all time won a title on here...Howard Davis Jr. The guy had some blinding speed...just didnt have the power to keep the great ones at bay..but man..what speed! Well, enough of my incoherent ramblings....Left Jab Inc. is ready to rumble. LOL

lethal,
This season there will be one thing different about the draft that we haven't done before. In a couple of weeks, there will be a list of who will be entering this years draft for everyone to see. I'm in the process right now of sending out PMs to some of the leagues managers and they will pick who will be in the draft at the end of the season.

Scot,
Do you give home crowd bias to home teams or is this just cosmetic?
