Very ture well expect for when he's in the EOY tournaments. He's like the individual version of the Mexivilles.

... quite that big a win, Liberal. Barbarians got some surprise points from Meza (draw with Thil?) and Turpin (KO Rivera?), but Mesi fell on his face ... Parra draw with Zapata was a surprise, too!
Welcome to the league -- the hard way! Good luck down the road. ![]()

The Barbarians look scary good. The 2-time Gold Division champion Beavers will have all they can do to dam up the surging Brazilian squad. Mark, you have done an outstanding job assembling talent.
Welcome to the league Liberal. That HW combo might be the class of the division once it matures.

Congratulations to the Muckboys on their victory. One of these seasons we'll win our opening match.
Looks like Andrew Lewis has got Honeyghans number, having beaten him in the EOY tournament as well.

Muckboys look improved as well. Should be a tough division this season.

Yeah, since Honeyghan took out Lewis in their first match Lewis has rebounded to knock out Lloyd twice they got a nice little rivalry brewing there. Actually, the whole Gold WW division Carr/Quintana/Lewis/Honeyghan series has turned into a good rivalry.

Oh, just you wait until my boy Zab enters that mix, my friend! He just might sort things out...

And let's not ...
... forget the Cocoa Kid in the welter mix!
Not sure what the heck pushed my guys over the top (other than the threat of unemployment!), but it sure beats all those close losses. Thanks for the props, Romy and Matt. Could be too much pressure to live up to, looking at the rest of the division. Lethal and Lee, hang in there. Bear and KC made nice strides late in their first season, and through the draft, and so will you.

Zab fits in perfectly with our group of semi-chinny power punchers plus throw in Curry, McCory, Stracey, Cuevas, and throw in Cocoa Kid, whos the only one with out good power, and we got ourselves a nice WW division in the Gold. Looking at that group I must say I don't expect anyone to hold onto the championship for very long.

The results for the other three team matches that I've already run will be delayed in the posting. Nebraska is set to kick-off and I have dinner and cards at the in-laws later. They will be posted today/tonight............just don't know when.

My assessment of ...
... the division leaders by weight class, if we had UGW divisional champs:
At heavyweight, Uzcudun, Chuvalo and Max Baer would probably be the class, but you can't rule out an upset from the next tier of Folley, Quarry, Dokes and Mesi. At light-heavy, Foster should be the man, except for the annoying post-season fade. Bettina, Siki and Gardner look like the best of the rest. Middleweights? Dick Tiger is the target, but there's a slight drop-off to Overlin, Brennan and teammate Randy Turpin. Welters, we discussed … with UTBA champ Lewis looking back at Gatti, Cocoa Kid, teammate Donald "Cobra" Curry (one of my all-time favorites), Oba Carr and maybe Carroll in the hunt. The lightweight class right now is Rosario, but challenges could come from O'Grady, Aragon, Beau Jack, teammate Rodolfo Gonzalez, Corrales or even Espana on a given night, especially as some of them gain experience. Featherweight is another interesting class as UTBA champ McGovern must contend with former champ Olivares, the Kangaroos duo of Fenech and Famechon, teammate Ford and future champ (IMHO) "Little Red." The bantams are nothing to sniff at, either. Medel has the best record, but Bennett, Sahaprom, Roman, Pintor and teammate Jhonny Gonzalez are capable. The flys are led by UTBA champ Darchinyan, but the Barbarians hope to mount a challenge with Laciar and Zapata. There's also Candido Tellez and Kangaroo teammate Hussein Hussein in the mix.

You mean the Muckboys right? Make to the playoffs then get blown out? If he choked in the last regular season match ... then he would be like the Mexivilles! |

One time I've only been blown out of the playoffs once but yes your right he is more like the Muckboys then the Mexivilles since he can at least make the postseason. Well, they did score a point for me with the draw and they didn't all get knocked out which is very important to me so all in all they had a good round plus we won which is that matters.

I wish now that instead of just trying to pick the best fighters..I would have studied the divisions a little better and maybe picked my nines and eights in the weakest divisions. Oh well,I see now what everyone means by getting your face kicked in as an expansion team...lol. Vista has a very strong team. I cant wait to see the results of the remaining first round matches. Fun stuff.
