Well, looks like Sal may be snowed in and without power. Good luck to you guys who are getting blasted. I like the snow, but the power outages, frozen car doors etc. I can do without. Be careful guys.

It is absolutely NASTY here, and I'm near the city. Drove to school today - Lawrence and back is 20 miles each way - and the ride home was harrowing a little while ago. Cars off the road everywhere.

Here's hoping Scot is warm and enjoy a nice toddy right now

Made it home and still have power. Unbelievable! Thanks for the warm wishes guys. I'm at 4 inches right now and counting(3" of it has come in the last hour)
Matt, I'd love to have myself a toddy right now but since I work for a natural gas utility, I may be back outside in this stuff working later tonight.

Free Agent Wire is now closed.

Free Agent signings coming up..........about 10 minutes or so.

Managed to finally ...

... thaw my car doors open around 11 a.m. and went to work until about 4:30 when the sleet started to get serious. It's really coming down now, and I don't hold out much hope for the roads tomorrow ...

Oh, well, more time to rate fighters and surf for pics!

Hunker down, boys, it's going to get nasty out there!

It took 24 hours longer but it finally hit here. Some folks experienced something I have never hears of--thunder snow. North side of the city is looking at 5-12 with blizzard conditions. I'm lucky. The south side, where I'm at, is looking at 4-8 inches. I'm owed a comp day and I'm considering taking it.

Starting to give up on the 1 rated fighters idea?

The trading deadline is 4:00 (CST) today, but I am heading to court* at 1:00 (EST). Anyone that wishes to make another offer (those of you who were emailed) have until 12:30 or so to let me know.

Of course, with Scot being buried in snow the deadline may be somewhat flexible. I will not be back home until 6:00 or so though.

The trade deadline will be flexible. I'm still at work(going on 18 hours straight right now). When I get home tonight, 18 to 24 inches to dig thorugh with 4 foot drifts on the road.

Well, kind of having three of them was killing me but I'm keeping White and Cooper I would have to gut my team to be able to afford higher rated replacements and MW is so deep it wouldn't do me all that good. I'm just hoping that Davis and Polo keep fighting at the level they were at before being cut if they can do that the Muckboys should be alright.

Here in my part of West Virginia it is calling for wind gusts of up to 60mph and thunderstorms. It was 72 degrees at 6am this morning. However it is expected to drop 30-40 degrees over the next 24 hours..so who knows? I know this..72 degrees in December here in WV is definitely not the norm. Strange weather all about. Anyway, you guys that are getting the brunt of this mess..be careful, drive safely and take care.

Hated to release the guy,as he has performed OK all things considered. Alas, had to make the cap though..lol. Its been a few hours since anyone has posted on here...hope everyone is safe and sound. Watching the weather channel..some really bad freak accidents and such. Take care guys. I know a couple of ya are right in the eye of the storm. I love snow, but you can have the ice storms..terrible stuff.

Surprisingly, we had a tornado watch through a small strip of central Connecticut. That is almost unheard of here. We had high winds and heavy rain that ripped through in less than an hour. In that hour though, I got water in my basement and a tree came down near the garage; looks like 65 degrees again today. Strange 24 hour period.

I would guess that Dave (romultiltus) is out fixing something that was busted up last night.

I was shocked to hear about the tornado warning as well, but did not stay glued to the weather channel. Man, there were some heavy, howling winds last night and at one point I heard the unmistakable "crack" of a tree snapping in the backyard. Luckily it was in the small tree-covered area of my postage-stamp backyard and it fell harmlessly - missing one of my sheds by a couple of feet.

Interesting strategy by Chris ... claim everyone and then try to trade them ... He's like the Don King of our little world here. Next thing you know anyone who beats him will be audited.

Bears Unstable vs McCune Mitt Slingers - Week 4

Snow delayed results.................results for 6 team matches will be posted throughout the day.

December 2, 2006: Joplin Memorial Hall, Joplin, MO

Once in a lifetime win for McCune's LHW (3)Lonnie Bennett when he landed a wild right in the 4th to KO Moore.
