Alright on a serious note about changing the scoring system, I would be fine with a UD being 2.5 but 3 might be to high I think. It would serve to make guys with no firepower more attractive as pickups.

However, I think we need to look at if we even need a change to the scoring system. Both Iceteaboxing and the Crusaders have proven you can be very successful without major power. Icetea is tied for 8th with the Kangaroos for KOs and have the second most points scored in the league and are probably the favorites to take the crown. They have taken out the Mexivilles 6th on the KO list, Juggernaut tied for 4th, and the Muckboys 2nd on the list.

The Crusaders have even fewer KOs hell their tried with Left Jab Inc. with 65 apiece. They have beaten the Mexivilles and the Bald Beavers who 3rd with KOs. They lead Juggernaut who have 16 more KOs then the Crusaders by 24 points.

The Bears who have the most KOs in the league and ten more then the Beavers still trail the Beavers by 25 points. Not one of the teams that lead their division in KOs are in 1st place, I'm the closest at only being behind by 10. I just don't see a need for the change while scoring alot of KOs does help it isn't needed to be successful in the league.

When I was selecting my expansion squad my choices were governed by the value of a KO placed at 3. Assembled a squad that could work well with that, scouted for it. Passed up some guys I liked becasue they weren't as good fits with the rule. Since I had an expansion squad that had to suffer through a season going against veteran teams I wanted to have a puncher's chance in my fights. Quite a number of guys I scouted and rated highly at there weights are currently in the league. I suggested a nember of names prior to the last draft and Scott put them into the pool.

Hey - huge trades, betting... You're stepping all over my turf Scot!

Sounds like fun. How about awarding an extra draft pick between rounds 2 and 3 to the one who accumulates the most cash?

I can't let you have all the fun.
One thing about it, the trades, I've just conducted my drafting for the season without having to enter the draft.

That sounds like a cool idea I don't know how fair it is but a cool idea. I think it would be cool to make betting a permanent feature of the UTBA. You know something like the Explorers Cup have long bets on the overall and division championships also on the winners of team matches and maybe title matches. Maybe we could get The Right Reverend Fisher of Ayr to run it if he was willing.

Punching Bags vs Juggernaut - Week 9

January 05, 2007: Fenway Park, Boston, MA

Juggernaut unloads on the expansion Punching Bags. Takes over first in the South.
The 1st place Crusaders will need to score 36 points in their team match to at least gain a tie with Juggernaut in the standings before heading in to the final week of the season when they face the Juggernaut team.
The 60 put up by Juggernaut tonight might have spelled the end of the season for the MexiVille squad.

I think it's not very fair either........but I still like the idea.

Permanent betting in the UTBA.............I have no problem with. We'll have to see if we can get the Right Reverend away from the ponies for just a bit.

Any chance Oakland can hold Ice Tea under 30 to give me any chance against the mighty Ice tea team? Even is this were to happen, Id have to defeat Ice Tea by 20 points in the last week of the season, looks the Un'disputed' Champs are again playing for next season....

Nice win Juggernaunt, it looks like the lofty preseason expectations might hold some truth!

I have been gone as well...so sorry to read about the loss of your father UMK. I lost my mother in 04 and have a father in failing health. I feel your pain. Condolences and best wishes. You never really get over losing a parent, but as time passes you start to remember the good times and those cherished memories make you realise that while they may not be here in body..they will always be a part of you. Good luck with the healing process.

Well, it looks like you got your wish and scored 40 not that it will matter as we all know that the Punching Bags will hammer you in y'all season ending match.

60 points puts Juggernaut somewhat back in the running, but with the week 10 schedule I like the Mexivilles chances. Still very much a 3 way race.

You two(Juggernauts and Mexivilles)have been sort of gliding along under the radar for most of the year..but with the talent that you guys have you are going to make a couple of the leaders sweat a little come playoff time. Its getting interesting here in the UTBA. I am already hyped about next season when some of the restrictions are lifted...hopefully,I can be a much more competitive team. Good luck guys. Well, gotta go watch my Cowboys...terribly dissapointed in them the last few weeks. Oh yeah, just a reminder...TONEY/PETER tonite! Later fellas.
