A belt for the Boxing Kangaroos

I made up this belt for a bit of fun. The Wooden Spoon belt for the last place team.

The #1 draft picks are looking good.

I am stunned Jermain Taylor is not ranked in the top 16, what a bust! Some unusual findings in the rankings.
I will give you Hamsho and my 1st round pick this year for Taylor and my second round pick back

Expansion Team

hamed has claimed our last spot for an expansion team. This gives us 16 teams for next season.

1)We will have 10 rounds of team matches next season.
You will face teams in your own conference twice(one at home & one away) and you will face the four teams from the other conference(same division) one time during a season.

2) The UTBA will still have the Gold & Silver divisions but each division will be split up into two conferences(4 teams each).
The winner of each conference will make the playoffs. The UTBA will now have a 4 team playoff.

Two losses at the end of the season knocked him clear down to #20.
When he lost to Manfredo and Mora, he lost -449 performance points. Ouch.
Taylor was way ahead in both fights scoring 2 knockdowns in each before he was stopped on cuts.
If he would have had one more fight before the seeding and won, he might of jumped right back in the top 16.

Yeah, I thought it would be kinda cool to have one day with nothing but championship fights.
I'm dragging the tournaments out a little because ConnChris & IanLord will be gone till Aug. 20th. This will give them a few days after they are back to look over the draft list before we have the league draft. After the draft, Bear & hamed will send me their rosters for the expansion teams. Then we should be ready for season 2.

I am back. I need to sort out what I am doing in the draft.

Will this be done in a separate draft thread where each of us is on the clock for a period of time?

Thanks again Scot!

Thanks Bear, I got the PM too.

We had a great time canoing, swimming and what-not in the New Hampshire woods.

Chris;
My suggestion would be to go with Kenny Shea, Jesus Meneses and Francisco Paredes with your three first round draft picks ... LOL!

I just thought those three were the obvious picks. Given my team's poor performance, no one can accuse me of being a boxing draft Mel Cuyper. Vito and Ferreri should be concerned about job security at this point. I'm taking offers for the two ...

... about Chris' pics. Mine, well ... I was seriously bad, evidently. Several guys have told me my team underperformed, and I would have to say they really lagged behind my expectations. Let's see if my next three picks can improve the Barbarians' fortunes. Luck to all for season two!

Rumor has it that a few tumbleweeds have been seen...

but other than that, its been pretty dead here for a couple of days...

Anyways, with 2 tournaments in the books except for the final Championship fights, here is a bit of info concerning how the teams have fared so far:

(Listed will be each team, the # of fighters that made the tournaments and the team's overall record in the tournaments - so far)

Boxing Kangaroos - (8)
6-3-0 (4)

MexiVilles - (7)
5-1-3 (4)

Cawkney Crusaders - (10)
4-1-1 (0)

The Nobodies - (8)
4-1-3 (1)

IceTeaBoxing - (14)
4-3-0 (2)

Hebron Haymakers - (8)
2-3-0 (1)

Brazilian Barbarians - (7)
1-1-0 (0)

Undisputed Champions - (9)
1-1-0 (1)

Muckboys (13)
1-4-0 (1)

Bonner Springs Bald Beavers - (11)
0-2-0 (0)

Tomato City - (8)
0-2-0 (0)

Punching Gatitos - (9)
0-3-1 (0)

Juggernaut - (7)
0-3-0 (0)

Tile Hill Top Team - (9)
0-0-0 (0)

Just in case no one noticed, congradulations to IceTeaBoxing for a record that may never be broken - 14 of 16 team members made it to the end-of-year tournaments. The Muckboys finished close behind w/ 13 of 16 (no small feat either).

I suspect that with the additon of 2 more teams for the next season, this will never happen again - but you never know.
