Spring break has arrived.

It has come late this semester, and there will only be five weeks left when we get back.

Need the week off and summer vacation is around the corner on May 12th.

I plan on relaxing with boxing related activities for a week.

Good times, replace boxing activities with opening round of March Madness and you have my spring break. It's a lovely time year, nice to have break.

I went to DePaul. March madness isn't a traditional part of my spring break. LOL

As a departmental chair I can tell you that faculty members look forward to spring break as much as our students do.

I've got a small (BIG) problem.

I ran three matches last night and was just finishing the next three this morning and getting ready to post the results and..................

.........the UTBA database crashed on me. Lucky for me, I have back-ups, copies of all fighter's history plus title history and have the UTBA installed on another computer as well. Just got to take some time and recover all the data up to a point ending week 5 and start this week (6) over. I want to make sure and check the history for all the fighters and make sure they are correct before I start week 6 again. Sorry about this guys.........I'm not in a good mood now. Sometimes I hate computers.

Ha, yeah having gone to FSU and UCF for my whole college career March Madness has never involved any of my schools either.

What department are you a chair of?

Ouch, that sucks dude. Computers can be such pains sometimes, lord knows there have been times when I wanted to take a baseball bat to mine. Hopefully, you can get it up and running TBCB without anymore problems

Yes, it sucks. I've got the UTBA all back on my computer now including everything to the end of week 5. Gotta start week six over but first, I'm off to Joplin, MO (1 hour drive) to go and visit Best Buy. Need a part for the computer.

It doesn't matter now Romy but the Muckboys hung 56 points on my squad before the crash. Maybe I'll do better in the do over.

If I don't hang another 56 or over I'm personally driving to your house and introducing your computer to a baseball bat. I needed those points dammit.

I'm chair of the Library. In a past life I also tought philosophy. It is somewhat amusing to me that one of faculty members in philosophy is a former student of mine. At present I'm far more interested in promoting informational literacy with our students. I'm at Daley College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago.

My little trip to the big city turned out to be more than just pick up a computer part. The wife tagged along and found so many interesting shops to stop at so I just got home. All systems appear to be a go on my end for the UTBA. Look for results later tonight or most of them in the morning.

Commissioner decision...............

On the replacement ownership of the Lipbuster's team......a87star is out and Kalinik is in.

a87star accepted the invite to join the league and I've been trying to reach him by PM and email for the last week. I have seen where he has been online during this time but has failed to respond. For fear of having a team owner not being active like we did the first season, I've decided to drop a87star and give the spot to Kalinik. Kalinik PMs me at least once a week and has all of last season and this one wanting to join. So I think he will be a good addition and an active part of our league.

Kalinik has been presented the option of taking over the current Lipbuster or wait until the end of the season and join as an expansion team. As of right now, he is leaning towards doing the expansion team route. He is aware of the downside of being an expansion team. With that.................

........I'd like to welcome Kalinik to the league.

I like the decision, I believe a87star was initially going to take part in this league when it was first formed and if I remember correctly this was a problem then as well.

Welcome aboard Kalinik
