Season 4: MVP Candidates - Silver Conference
Candidate #1:
Featherweight - Young Griffo (Hebron Haymakers) Season 4 Record: 18-1-1 (4) The first of two Haymakers in the MVP race, Young Griffo is a former 3-time Featherweight Champion. He won the title for the 3rd time in Season 4 and successfully defended the belt 9 times before dropping a tough 15-round split decision to current champion Howard Winstone. Griffo managed to keep his focus and win 18 bouts despite living out of a suitcase following the announcement that the Haymakers were shipping him off to the expansion Antwerp Southpaws at the conclusion of the EOY Tournaments. Young Griffo heads into his 4th consecutive FW EOY Tournament as the #2 Seed. SEASON 4 HIGHLIGHTS:

Season 4: MVP Candidates - Silver Conference
Candidate #2:
Flyweight - Jorge Arce (MexiVilles) Season 4 Record: 18-1-1 (11) Jorge Arce proved he could hang with the big boys this Season by compiling an impressive 18-1-1 record. He led the MexiVilles to the brink of the playoffs and allowed the team to earn the distinction as the most successful franchise to never make a playoff appearance. Arce's only loss of the season was a heartbreaking 12 round split decsion to rookie phenom Pasual Perez. Although he was disappointed to not have fought for a championship this season, Arce expects to take the FLY Title home to the MexiVilles in the EOY Tournament by duplicating his exhibition victory against Vic Darchinyan in the All-Star match. Jorge Arce heads into his 3rd consecutive FLY EOY Tournament as the #2 Seed. SEASON 4 HIGHLIGHTS:

Season 4: MVP Candidates - Silver Conference
Candidate #3:
Heavyweight - Max Schmeling (Hebron Haymakers) Season 4 Record: 19-1-0 (12) Former Heavyweight Champion Max Schmeling is the 2nd MVP Candidate representing the UTBA Champion Hebron Haymakers. Coming off of back-to-back 18-2-0 records the last 2 seasons, Schmeling found a way to improve by finishing 19-1-0 in Season 4 as well as winning the Heavyweight Title. He finished the season with 7 successful Title Defenses, but lost the belt to old nemesis Peter Jackson in the Silver Conference Team Championship match against IceTeaBoxing. He hopes to reclaim the title in the EOY Tournament. Max Schmeling heads into his 4th consecutive HW EOY Tournament as the #1 Seed. SEASON 4 HIGHLIGHTS:

Season 4: MVP Candidates - Silver Conference
Candidate #4:
Bantamweight - Jeff Chandler (Cawkney Crusaders) Season 4 Record: 18-0-2 (3) Former BW Champion Jeff Chandler was one of the few bright spots for rebuilding Cawkney Crusaders after dismantling its Season 3 Championship Team. Chandler finished undefeated for the second time in his career (first time occured in Season 1). Along with Young Griffo, he has proven that a fighter can contend for MVP without having monsterous KO power. Chandler was not able to get a shot at the BW Title during the regular season, but has positioned himself to make a run in the EOY Tournament. Jeff Chandler heads into his 4th consecutive BW EOY Tournament as the #2 Seed. SEASON 4 HIGHLIGHTS:

Here's the call from the game: 0:00 We're about to get underway... And there's the bell as Round 1 begins. 0:0 0:14 Lewis just landed a three punch combo! 0:4 0:14 Breland was shaken by those blows! 0:4 0:24 Breland lands a quick jab. He'd like to keep Andrew Lewis on the end of that punch. 2:4 0:38 Breland tries a straight right that's blocked by the gloves of Andrew Lewis. 2:4 0:50 * Lewis lands a violent shot under Breland's ribcage and Breland instantly drops down on both knees. 2:4 0:52 The count begins... 0:52 1... 0:53 2... 0:54 3... 0:55 4... 0:56 5... 0:57 6... 0:58 7... 0:59 Breland makes it to a knee at the count of 8 but he's still struggling to get his legs under him! 2:13 0:59 * Breland gets up on his feet! He doesn't look very steady... 2:13 0:59 Battle waves the two fighters together, he is allowing the fight to continue. 2:13 0:59 That last punch by Lewis just turned Breland's legs to Jell-O! Breland did a little dance and he's trying to regroup. Lewis moves in for the kill. 2:13 01:12 Andrew Lewis dips as if to launch a body shot, then goes upstairs with a quick hook to the head that puts Breland back on his heels! 2:18 01:12 Breland had better reach deep if he's going to continue! 2:18 01:25 Lewis digs two shots to the body and then rips Breland with a short uppercut on the inside. 2:21 01:25 Breland is hurt. He looks like he's ready to go. Lewis just needs to take his time and land one more big shot. 2:21 01:34 Lewis has Breland trapped! 2:21 01:38 Lewis tries to get fancy with some subtle shoulder movement. When it's done right that kind of thing can throw off an opponent's timing. 2:21 01:47 Lewis catches Breland coming in with a sweet uppercut! 2:25 01:47 Breland looks shaken! 2:25 02:00 There's a hard shot off the top of Breland's head! 2:30 02:00 Breland appears shaken by this punch! 2:30 02:09 * Breland walks into a hook and folds like an accordion. Season 4: MVP Candidates - Silver Conference
Candidate #5:
Middleweight - Tiger Flowers (IceTeaBoxing) Season 4 Record: 19-0-1 (8) Former Middleweight Champion Tiger Flowers not only finished the season undefeated, but also led the way for playoff-bound IceTeaBoxing. Sporting an impressive career record that is tarnished with 4 DQ losses, Flowers seems to have finally learned the rules of pugilism and has not lost a bout on a foul in over 2 full seasons. Although not known for his power, Flowers seems to step up against tougher competition and finished the season strong winning 5 of his last 7 bouts by KO/TKO. Based on their previous encounters, Flowers feels that he has Mickey Walker's number and would like to defeat him again - as long as he can get through the rest of the EOY Tournament. Tiger Flowers heads into his 4th consecutive MW EOY Tournament as the #2 Seed. SEASON 4 HIGHLIGHTS:

Season 4: MVP Candidates - Silver Conference
Candidate #6:
Middleweight - Carlos Monzon (Oakland Assassins) Season 4 Record: 20-0-0 (15) There had to be at least one, and Middleweight Champion Carlos Monzon surely fits the bill with a perfect 20-0-0 undefeated season. Monzon captured the title by winning the Season 3 EOY Tournament and successfully defended it 20 consecutive times during the regular season. In only his 2nd UTBA season, he has established himself as the cornerstone of the vastly improved Oakland Assassin team that plans on contending for a playoff spot next season. But for now, Monzon will just have to take care of business against the very deep MW field in the EOY Tournament. Carlos Monzon heads into his 2nd consecutive MW EOY Tournament as the #1 Seed. SEASON 4 HIGHLIGHTS:

Ok Romy, but I will have to start talking about Paul Pender again. I am shocked that he won a U-12 decsion against Carmen Basilio in the MW Tournament. And with a 2nd round match against Bobo Olson, his career rebirth with Tomato City continues to amaze...

Alright, I rather talk about Lewis then Pender but I'm hoping that Pender and Tiger both win their quarterfinals matches cause I want a rematch.

The trade was Andrew Lewis and Rodolfo Gonzalez for Larry Boardman, Arturo Gatti, and Pete Frissina. Gatti never fought for me and Boardman got cut at the end of the season. I pretty much traded two 7s for a 5 it was part of my moves to open space and retool my team after my crappy second season. The worse part of it all was that approached you about Frissina because I had traded him to you early and it turned out to be a mistake. So I made a trade that came back to bite me to fix a trade that came back to bite me.

Jiro Takada is a "4" and will hopefully retire as a member of Tomato City. He started off slow, but won 7 of his last 8 bouts of the regular season.
