I have to say, as the party that scuttled our HOF travel plans, I feel mighty responsible partner. I think I will have to owe you a beer or two if you ever get out this way.

I'll see how my trip goes first and it might be a case I'm wanting to collect by the time I get back.

Also I might be paying for last years trip too. It was my year to pick and I used to always pick somewhere I thought she would enjoy but not last year. I chose to spend our anniversary last year fishing for four days on Texhoma.

I may not know much, but I know that ain't good. I convinced Kathryn to spend our first night away from the kids in a few years at the casino for Clay-Bey's last hurrah a few years back. I am reminded of this often; and it ain't good.

I am getting nervous about this first match - I hope that I didn't change too many variables.

I know enough now to know that you're right.

I was just wondering if anyone has done a calculation where you divide the points a fighter has scored for his team during a season by his rating. This would be a good way of determining how valuable each fighter is.

Example: a 10 rated fighter scores 40 points during a season.

40/10 = 4

Another 10 rated fighter scores 35 points.

35/10 = 3.5.

In this example, the first fighter would appear to be more valuable. But you would also have to take into account the ratings of his opponents, I guess.

Just something I was pondering.

I'll give your idea some consideration.

What I do to determine value utilizes what I've come to call Bear's "eyeball test". It isn't any secret. I've mentioned beforeit in numerous posts. I look at the fighter's rating and figure that he's pulling his freight if he gives me three times his rating in points. It doesn't take into account career stages but it seems to be better than nothing.

I've been doing that for a few seasons now to decide who I wanted to trade for. I would make my decisions based on the ratings formula and give up whatever draft picks were needed to get the deal done.

I have sort of beat that horse to death so now I need to work a different side of the street.

It seems to have worked for you last season, Chris.

Makes me so happy I am on to wife #2 the trophy wife and the boy is 17 because Kelly will be 36 and I can take her anywhere LOL. Plus now she likes boxing so a trip to Connecticut for a fight is perfectly acceptable to her.

Did I mention my wifey is perfect????

I was just wondering if anyone has done a calculation where you divide the points a fighter has scored for his team during a season by his rating. This would be a good way of determining how valuable each fighter is.

Example: a 10 rated fighter scores 40 points during a season.

40/10 = 4

Another 10 rated fighter scores 35 points.

35/10 = 3.5.

In this example, the first fighter would appear to be more valuable. But you would also have to take into account the ratings of his opponents, I guess.

Just something I was pondering.
I think this is a pretty good way to judge the value of a fighter.

Don't know what this might mean in the grand scheme of things, but
looking at ways to judge a fighter, I just compiled points per match fought for the Unstable:

(9)Oscar Bonavena 17-22-2 (14) *pre-prime produced 50 points in 41 = 1.22
(7)Elmer Ray 36-27-2 (24) *PRIME produced 98 points in 65 = 1.51
LHW
(7)Jimmy Adamick 43-20-1 (33) *PRIME produced 120 in 64 = 1.875
(13)Archie Moore 39-6-0 (37) *PRIME produced 115 in 45 = 2.55
MW
(6)Eduardo Lausse 33-29-0 (25) *PRIME produced 91 in 62 = 1.47
(1)John LoCicero 3-39-0 (1) *PRIME produced 7 in 43 = 0.163
(7)Rocky Graziano 0-0-0 (0) *beginning
WW
(9)Pipino Cuevas 44-18-4 (37) *PRIME produced 129 in 66 = 1.95
(5)Dave Green 39-46-3 (24) *PRIME produced 105 in 88 = 1.19
(7)Kid Azteca 9-13-0 (3) *pre-prime produced 21 in 20 = 1.05
LW
(4)Andy Ganigan 17-24-1 (12) *pre-prime produced 47 in 42 = 1.12
(5)Fabian Tejeda 43-36-0 (27) *PRIME produced 113 in 79 = 1.43
FW
(4)Carmelo Negron 15-32-0 (10) *pre-prime produced 40 in 47 = 0.85
(6)Enrique Sanchez 38-26-0 (25) *PRIME produced 101 in 64 = 1.58
BW
(9)Jose Becerra 56-14-2 (37) *PRIME produced 151 in 72 = 2.10
(5)German Ohm 12-29-2 (6) *pre-prime produced 30 in 43 = 0.70
Fly
(3)Chartchai Chionoi 28-49-2 (16) *PRIME produced 74 in 79 = 0.94
(12)Ricardo Lopez 0-0-0 (0) *beginning

Archie Moore and Jose Becerra are the only two guys on the team averaging over 2 points per bout fought on their careers. Becerra has starred for me since day one, when, as an expansion club I was trounced for eight straight weeks.

What can I say? Corrie obviously has a photo of Rashada "involved" with a german sheperd, two bald midget wrestlers and a pool cue

Ha, that sounds like a good time. If I was you Tommy I would ask SAL to assign Rashada to all of Corrie's matches.

As of right now..........he is and always will be.
The same three judges and referee work all of the fights held in the UTBA. They are listed in the rules of the UTBA. I can't remember off of the top of my head who they are but I do know the referee is Rudy Battle.

Well, in that case Corrie Sanders is going to be a tough man to take a decision off of.

Ok guys. I know you've been waiting for more results from week one. The big reason for going to a 2 week schedule for one game week is my daughter's softball tournament team on the weekends this summer. I just finished up a long weekend about 2 hours ago (26 hours at the ball park in two days) which has caused the delay in week 1 so far but I'm going to start work on running some matches right now late into the night. I may not get the results posted until tomorrow but week 1 should end by Wednesday night before I'm off on my little vacation.
