Take care guys!

Thanks for the well wishes and the concern guys.
I'm back!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry for not being around to let you guys know what's going on. I volunteered my services the past two weeks to help in the clean up in Greensburg Kansas. The town was leveled by a tornado last month and needs all the help they can get. Plus I've been squeezing in my daughter's softball tournaments on the weekends. Anyway, let me catch up on some sleep and forgotten chores around my house and week 2 should start by Tuesday night (2 days). Once again, sorry for keeping everybody in the dark. This is the first time I've seen a computer in a couple of weeks that I could post on.

The town I work out of (Parsons KS) was hit pretty hard by a tornado in 2002 and I remember how glad I was to see volunteers come to that town and help out with the clean-up efforts. I just felt like I needed to help the people of Greensburg out as way of payback. |

Boom Boom
Good to see you back Scot. Must have been tough work.
I read this e-mail in last Fridays Boxing News. BOOM BOOM MANCINI STOPPED AT MY HOUSE I received a list of American boxers addresses in 1989. I wrote to at least 60 but the man I really wanted to hear from was former WBA Lightweight Champ Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini. About a month later I got a photo and a letter from Ray. He said he never realised there were people in the UK who were fans of his. We became pen pals and after a while swapped phone numbers and email addresses. Last October I spoke to certain members of the Welsh EBA and told them I was in contact with Ray and was sure we could bring him over for a celebrity dinner. On April 16th this year I finally met the man I had been in contact with for 18 years. I was not disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble for Ray and I'm sure the fans who attended will never forget him. After the dinner, he said he would be delighted to stay at my home in Kent for the weekend. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have this fantastic man in the presence of my family home. I would like to thank, through BN, the Welsh EBA for bringing him over. Ray lives in California, is a successful businessman with his own company, has a lovely family and keeps himself in great shape. Sean Pullen, Gillingham, Kent Thought that might cheer you up! |
