How long will your patience with Danny Lopez continue?
Yeah, it looks like Arthur was on his way to turning into a MW version of Jhonny Gonzalez which is not good times I know from experience.

That break was the greatest thing that could have happen for Danny. Prior to it looking at his performance would actually make me mad but now I don't care as much and I'm willing to give him the rest of the season to pull out of his slump. Plus, seeing Pender tear things up for Dave has served as a brake on me dumping Lopez. If he goes Prime this season and still can't buy a win he's done but if he stays at Pre-Prime I'll probably shift him down to the minors. I was already planning on bringing up Folley anyway so it won't be to hard to open space for Lopez should I go that route.

Arthur Abraham - Career

To be fair Tommy, Arthur Abraham has not had a favorable schedule in his brief UTBA career.

He faced 14 guys rated 8 or above and got clobbered going 1-13-0 (0):
  • 0-3 vs. Mickey Walker (11)
  • 0-2 vs. Ken Overlin (10)
  • 0-3 vs. Charles Kid McCoy (9)
  • 0-1 vs. Bennie Briscoe (9)
  • 1-0 vs. Gerald McClellan (9)
  • 0-2 vs. Jock McAvoy (8)
  • 0-1 vs. Paul Pender (8)
  • 0-1 vs. Dwight Davison (8)
That leaves 10 opponents rated 6 or below (he never fought a 7) and was an underwhelming 3-7-0 (0) against them

Other than the shocking W-T10 victory against Gerald McClellan, he owns Lester Ellis (4) going 2-0-0 (0) and also holds a U-12 victory over rugged John LoCicero (1) who currently carries a 3-43-0 (1) record.

If he continued on this season, he would have faced the following possible opponents (barring any roster moves):
  • Mickey Walker (11) x1
  • Ken Overlin (10) x2
  • Michael Nunn (10) x1
  • Charles Kid McCoy (9) x1
  • Lazslo Papp (9) x1
  • Jock McAvoy (8) x2
  • Terry Downes (6) x2
  • Rafael Gutierrez (4) x1
  • Lester Ellis (4) x2
  • Brent Cooper (1) x1
  • Ike White (1) x1
  • Ed Goins (1) x1
Based on this, at best, Abraham may have an outside chance to win 8 of his remaining 16 bouts. (He must have been looking forward to Week 8 against the Brazilian Barbarian tandam of White and Goins.

You forgot to include his lose to Dick Tiger so he's 1-14 against guys 8 and higher. He had to put in alot of hard work to get that record so lets not jip him on it.

The 2nd round of the FA waiver wire produced no requests. With that said, I'll close the waiver period for this week and begin preparations for week 3.

Iceteaboxing is still missing 3 fighters on their Minor league roster.
I will assign the following from the draft pool to their team:
  • HW (2)Jean-Pierre Coopman 0-0-0 (0) *beginning
  • WW (1)Miguel Barreto 0-0-0 (0) *beginning
  • LW (3)Juan Gomez Trinidad 0-0-0 (0) *beginning

First up in Week 3.

In the Silver:

Iceteaboxing, 2nd place in the North division, will travel to third place in the North, 420th Street Gym. Only 2 points separate these teams in the standings. This match will determine who takes control of 2nd place in the North division and start putting the heat on the division leading Haymakers.

The MexiVilles just claimed the lead in the South division in week 2 and will visit the Midwest's Oakland Assasins. Oakland has started off way behind the Undisputed Champions in the MidWest division but only trail by 7 points in the wild card standings. Oakland should prove to be all the MexiVilles want here in week 3. Look for a close match.

Juggernaut will be looking to make a move on the MexiVilles in the South standings this week on the road when they take on a wounded Hoosier Playboys squad. Juggernaut only trails the MexiVilles by 7 and should score enough points this week to move them into the lead in the South.

Thanks for the breakdown on the up and coming title matches. Very nice Dave. I hope you can find time to do it each week.

It looks to me like Sot's reign over the Fly's will be over this week and Darch will once again be on top. Espana's chances look to be 50/50 and it appears that all the other champs will hold on to their title belts for at least for one more week.

Great breakdown Dave. Like SAL I would like to see it become a weekly feature. On the same note, I would like to your predictions of the coming weeks action became a weekly thing as well SAL.

It amazes me to think back that at one point I had a lengthy debate with myself as to whether or not I should keep SSS. Seeing his record stand at 7-33-0 (3) tells me that I did the right thing cutting ties with him. I'm rooting for Espana to hold onto that title through this week so that Edwin can get a shot at him next week. I would hate to see him lose it this week and then whoever beat him to lose next week robbing Edwin for a chance to fight for the title.

Looks like one of the 'Kat flyweights could stop Chitalada, but with Laciar in the mix, those will be four good fights.

Former Barbarian Espana always has a puncher's chance. Think I may have been a bit hasty in trading him?

I for one must disagree and wish you had kept him on your roster Romy...

Great breakdown on Abraham's performance Dave!

He has had tough opposition so far and could be on the way to an improvement but I don't want to wait for that improvement just to find out that he isn't getting any better.

Soliman might not be a long term solution for me but (as Romy also said) he can't do much worse so I'll give him a shot. Maybe he can get a point here and there.

We were only a couple of points away from beating two well established teams so far into this season and I'm hoping that an extra point here and there will tip the scale in our favor.

We can't forget that he notched a win over John LoCicero.

Of course not. When we summarize Abrahams career this will of course be the pinnacle of it. LoCicero is a...rugged...veteran.

Talking about Abraham and his career so far makes me sad and depressed .

At least it makes you forget about The Tomas Damgaard experiment.

Damn, I just looked up Damgaard and ouch is all I can say. Man, Tommy you've had some stinkers on your team. Well, on the brightside at least you've been smart enough to not resign for another tour of duty unlike our current champ and his favorite Samoan HW.

I admit that Abraham and Damgaard has two very short highlight reels.

I don't know about that, I'm willing to bet that both men were part of many highlight worthy moments. They just happened to be on the wrong side of them.
