I'll take sign-ups for the league (UTBA II) on this thread.

Once we have a list of owners in place........we'll fine tune & finalize the rules and start a new thread.
The old UTBA rules will be used for starters.
Rule changes on the table so far:
I) change the current team cap system to work within the new game.
example....a fighters overall rating will change now as he advances through the different career stages.

II) do away with the minor leagues.

List of interested owners for the restart so far......

1) mh2365 - Mike
2) Ian Lord - Ian
3) CONN CHRIS - Christopher
4) Romultiltus - Dave
5) Mad Bomber - Greg
6) Tommysixfingers - Tommy
7) kenyan_cheena - Dan

UTBA returns? Yippee!

Welcome back Scot. Count me in! The Beavers look forward to a new beginning. My first pick will be Rudy Giuliani.

Welcome back Scot. Glad all is well.

I enjoyed the first go round and see no reason I wouldn't enjoy the next. I would like to second the 'no minors' nomination.

Perhaps we could increase the length of the regualr season, also.

A possible rule change might be to also allow 3 points for unanimous decision wins. That would make boxers as desirable as sluggers.

Great to see you back SAL, just like Mike I thought for sure that God had finally smited you for whatever you did that pissed him off. Of course, sign me up for the UTBA II and I think Dave is the perfect choice for Co-Commish.

This is just window dressing, but maybe each owner could pick their team's colours. These would be reflected in the fighter's robes and trunks that they wear in each fight. Eg, gold with black trim in home games, white with black and gold trim on the road.

When picking teams some of the previous owners might be interested in keeping some of their favorite guys. Any chance of allowing for this in some way? Maybe allowing them to dibs a few guys or some limited number of options, or even as a tie-breaker when more than one owner selects a fighter.

If there's room for new blood, I'm in.

(and if it matters at all, in favor of anything that puts styles on equal footing)

Bear
I was thinking about something totally opposite from what your idea was.

How about for the initial draft only fighters from the UTBA Season 5 rosters are not available. This will definitely start things off fresh.

Just a thought...

I was originally thinking about something along the lines of Don's idea but I have to say I really like what Dave has come up with.
