Had another hair-brained idea.
Instead of me picking the fighters added to the draft/waiver pool, I'll pick what number of rated fighters are available and when somebody either drafts or picks up that rated number on waivers, they can decide who it will be. Example: Draft Pool Heavyweights (9) no-name (7) no-name (7) no-name (5) no-name (4) no-name When somebody drafts say a 7 rated HW, they get the 7 and they get to name who that fighter is as long as he doesn't currently reside on an active roster. Another idea is to use the RFG to produce the fighters name to match the rating if the owner so chooses to go that route. |

UTBA Poll number 4
I just posted a 4th poll for the owners to vote on. This one concerns a fighter's overall prime rating counting towards the team cap.
You will be voting yes to keep the cap points just the way they were in the old UTBA. (Counting a fighter's overall prime rating towards the team cap when he is in the beginner, pre-prime & Prime stage) and then let the 2.5 game adjustments to overall rating take effect when a fighter ages to post-prime and end. |

I have a proposition for the league format and scheduling if we can't get any more than 22 teams. If we decide to stay with two conferences we could just have eleven teams in each and play an 11-week season where each team plays each of the other teams in their conference and also has one bye. Playoffs could just be the two conference champions like in the old days of MLB or maybe involve the top two or four teams in each conference.

I want to switch my ring girl to Zooey Deschanel.
Edit: Also, I want to change my Home Venue to Bright House Networks Stadium. Might as well host matches in the city I'm actually living in instead of Miami.

Cool, I sent him a PM but since he is usually on late I haven't gotten a reply yet. Maybe you send him a message as well Mike, it won't hurt to double up the recruitment. Now we need to think of another potential owner for the league.

Is there still an opening?
I don't know too much about the league, and probably would be like the first year Mets, with Choo-Choo Coleman, Marvelous Marv Throneberry and 3 pitchers that lost at least 19 games each (oops, wrong sports metaphor), but I could give it a go, just to give you guys someone to beat on. Had an incredibly bad day at work, and would rather get pounded by boxing afficionados.
So, if a slot is open, I'm game (but okay if they are all filled) . At least I know the HW 1-3 levels, and some of the top historical boxers! Just no snide comments if I go 0 for!Just need to know where to go to read up on the rules. Last edited by mikehoudini : 05-06-2008 at 11:34 PM. |

I doubt we'll see anyone ever come near Lee's record. 0-26 is going to be damn near impossible to beat. I wonder how long the losing streak will continue in the new league.

mikehoudini is in......
We need one more owner, finalize the rules and then we'll be ready to create the team rosters and get the UTBA II off and running. Sign-ups for the league restart (UTBA II) will be taken on this thread. There is 1 spot left to fill. Once we have a list of owners in place........we'll fine tune & finalize the rules and start a new thread. The old UTBA rules will be used for starters. There are 4 polls posted right now on possible rule changes. If you haven't voted yet, please do before the deadline. List of owners for the restart...... 1) mh2365 - Mike 2) Ian Lord - Ian 3) CONN CHRIS - Christopher 4) Romultiltus - Dave 5) Romdawg88 - Romy 6) Tommysixfingers - Tommy 7) kenyan_cheena - Dan 8) bigMatt - Matt 9) Claybor - Steve 10) bear - Don 11) jbergey22 - Jeremy 12) umk - Kerwin 13) Bronx Bomber 15 - Jim 14) Mad Bomber - Greg 15) Thunder - Will 16) vistaman44 - Mark 17) Gunsmoke - Mark 18) Chilton Roughnecks - Lee 19) lethal liberal - Hugh 20) Brooks TVB 21) Icetea - Mark 22) Sal - Scot 23) mikehoudini - Mike 24) New members list:

Also, I posted on one of the polls about using the cap like an NFL owner. If you want to spend on a stud you lose out on a later signing. Just throwing some ideas around, bash away. ![]()

As a newb, I didn't vote on minor leagues or divisions, since it's probably best off being left to those who have first-hand knowledge of the topics.

Not Involved This Time ...
Sorry guys, I am out this time around (don't have as much free time as last year, etc.) but good luck to all of you. I did enjoy viewing the photos of the new Ring Card girls, however. (Based on that alone, mh should be the winner ...)
