Ha, look at SAL pull out a Cintron reference. I didn't think anyone would remember me hating on Cintron.

IF the vote to abolish the conferences passes and IF we keep the season as ten weeks, then the easiest format would be to have six divisions of four, play six divisional games and four against all the teams from one other division. This means that over a five season period all teams would have played each other once. Playoffs could be six division champs plus two wildcards.
Just chucking that out there. |

For those who don't remember the illustrious career of Kermit Cintron as a member of the Muckboys during Season 2 of the UTBA...

With that said, any owner can attempt to select any fighter who was previously on another owners UTBA Season 5 roster. An owner does not have the right to protect any fighter. No one has exclusive rights to any fighters. Therefore, if I (Tomato City) wanted to pick 8-rated LHW-Prince Charles Williams (formerly on IceTeaBoxing's UTBA Season 5 roster) it would be allowed. The only issue would be if either IceTea or any other owner also selects Prince Charles Williams. In that case, Prince Charles Williams would be tossed from the initial selection lists and the owners would be notified by Scot (SAL) to select an alternate fighter. This system would kind of be a middle ground for both veteran owners and newbies. There is a chance that a veteran owner can retain part of his roster from the old UTBA, but it also allows newbie owners unrestricted access to all fighters between 3-10 in the 2.5DB

Also if two pick the same fighter, that fighter should be out completely ... I think the initial go around someone snuck under the rules by repicking the same guy, while the other owner picked someone else ... not sure though.
or should ties go to the previous owner? Last edited by mh2365 : 05-09-2008 at 07:01 PM. |

Previous owners should not receive the benefit of breaking a tie...

I would also allow for deals to be made if there is a tie ... like one owner could offer a draft pick or something for the other owner to relent. |

Overall, not a bad idea, but I think simplicity is best.

Well, yes there is that too bad the rest of my team decided not to show up that day. Cutting Cintron was one of my fondest moments of the UTBA.
I'm done with my lineup as well. I'm ready to get this thing started.
