Would it be too 90ish to scream "Westsiiiiide!" LOL. Just seen our WEST division and could almost hear Tupac screaming Westside is the best side ringing in ear! Hopefully I can be a contender this time. I was slowly getting there but...oh well. It looks like a lot of good competition and the divisions appear to have kept some of the old rivals together. Maybe my Left Jab team and the old Dublin squad can finally mount a challenge to Muckboys and Tomato City! Good luck to everyone, have fun and enjoy the league! ![]()

Roster update............2 rosters left to go
Team rosters are now being accepted. Please send them to me by PM.
Roster Guidelines: 1) Team cap will be 100 points. 2) You are not allowed any fighters rated (0), (1) or (2) on your roster. 3) There are no restricted fighters rated between 3-8 in the stock 2.5 db. You may pick whomever you want, even if the fighter was on any of the old UTBA rosters. 4) You will be allowed 1 fighter rated 10 if you so choose on your initial roster. 5) You will be allowed 1 fighter rated 9 if you so choose on your initial roster. 6) Any fighter picked by multiple owners will be removed from their respective rosters and the owners will be notified by me that you need to select an alternate fighter. You may make an attempt to select the same fighter 1 more time but if that fighter is duplicated for a second time, that fighter will be removed from the db for the initial roster set-up process. Rosters turned in so far (23):
In order to speed this up if possible......any fighter that is retained on a roster (not duplicated) at the end of each roster submission round, that fighter will be a permanent fixture for that respective team. This means that no other team can get them in later rounds when trying to replace duplicates and no team can drop them in order to make room for replacement of duplications.

While we wait............
Couple of things while we're waiting for the last 2 rosters to be submitted.
Roster numbers, 22 have been turned in, there are 73 duplicate picks involving only 34 fighters. I've been working on the aging........see what you guys think. The numbers:
With this aging schedule, a fighter will have a career of 146 fights to a maximum of around 270. This translates into 6.8 seasons to 11.9 seasons of service if a fighter only fights during the regular season and has no post season exposure. A fighter that participates in all post season tournaments during his career along with the regular season, his time of service in the league will be 4 to 7 seasons.

The UTBA II season will consist of 10 game weeks. In order for us to keep the overall career records in perspective, this number (10) must not change regardless of how many teams are in the league.
8 teams will qualify for the team championship at the end of each season. With six divisions and no more conferences, the six divisional winners will make the playoffs plus the top 2 scoring teams in the league that didn't win a division will qualify as wildcard teams. Here's a look at the UTBA II's 6 divisions (posted awhile back but with Lee's suggestion for division names). Broughton Division
Cribb Division
Mendoza Division
Figg Division
Caunt Division
Queensberry Division

Have to admit a combination of relief and disappointment that the Beavers' arch nemesis, the Tile Hill Team, is no longer in the division.
Wait a sec...is this the renamed "Coventry Hitmen?" |

If ten weeks is the duration we're going to use, I'll go ahead and make a schedule, Scot. It'll be six divisional matchups and four inter-divisional, all of which will be against teams from one of the other divisions.

You might want to hold off a few days, I know the Barbarians are going to change their team name.

I'd bump the aging up just a bit, I don't think the fighters need to get out of pre-prime that quick. I'd put it around where the post is.
Are you going to list the rosters after the first round? |

Yes I will. I was looking for a place to put them before I started a new thread for this league. For now, I'll more than likely post them on the first page of this thread and put a link to them in my posts and in my sig.

Here's what is going to happen on those last 2 rosters. One has posted on the thread here and the other has sent me a PM in the last 48 hours stating they would get right on them. If I have no rosters in my hand by the end of tonight, I'll issue both owners a PM stating they have 24 hours to do so. If they then fail to get me a roster in that time frame, the co-commish (Dave) and I will provide a roster for them.
Everybody has had plenty of time by now to submit a roster.

News flash!
In a stunning announcement from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, owner Mark Elwood has announced he is uprooting the Brazilian Barbarians of the UTBA and coming to America. The charter league franchise has a new home, venue and some new key personnel to go with the restructured league.
"We're hopeful the changes will pull the team up from several seasons of near misses and get us into the playoffs this year," said Elwood. "Toward that goal, we've released many of our former fighters and put together a new look line-up, as well as some other interesting hires." The team has located close to Elwood's home in nearby St. Louis, Mo., where it will host home battles at St. Louis Arena. Japanese idol, model and Mixed Martial Arts commentator Eiko Koike (5-5, 36-23-34) will provide excitement between rounds while famed South American trainer Amilcar Brusa and legendary cutman Eddie Aiello take care of business in the corner. "We want to bring an exciting and competitive team to the Midwest and beat those Illinois and Nebraska franchises for regional dominance," Elwood added. "Let the games begin!" Fast facts: Name: St. Louis Sluggers Venue: St. Louis Arena Trainer: Amilcar Brusa Cutman: Eddie Aiello Ring card girl: Eiko Koike
