Start another thread for it .. I wouldn't count out Chris for the playoffs his team looks pretty tough. I'm okay with the times ... like I said it would take the perfect scenario for it to effect me and I can always give you a list if I go to bed.

I agree that Chris has got a good team and while I think he'll give Icetea a tough battle I think he'll make his run next season when his guys got a chance to pre-prime.

Yeah, SAL go with another thread for the free agent pool. It'll make things abit easier.

Sorry, I was thinking of something else when I answered this.
I think I misunderstood what you were saying here. If you are saying let the expansion teams pick from what fighters are left in the stock DB that are not currently on a roster and also have the option to select from the draft/free agent pool in their initial roster. If that's the case, they were allowed this year and I'll get it posted in the rules.

A tough start for 'The Hilltoppers', meeting UTBA champions The Beavers on the opening day. At least we've got home advantage and can hopefully cause an upset and be the dark horses this season.

Just to let you know guys I will be away from now until tommorrow evening.

I'll be facing Icetea right out of the shoot. Should be a good one though I have a number of rookies this year.

Free Agent Wire Is Now Open

The Free Agent Wire is now open and will remain open until Monday, September 11 @ 4 pm CST when it will close and Season 2 kicks off.

For right now, the updated Draft/Free Agent Pool will be posted on page one, post #1 on the utba draft thread. The Waiver Rank is posted just above the fighters list of the same post.

When requesting fighters by PM, list them in the priority that you want them first and who you will be releasing second.
Requesting / Releasing
Example:
1) Chris Byrd / Joe Frazier
2) Mel Turnbow / George Foreman

Below are the revised rules that were posted on page 29, post # 580 of this thread.

FREE AGENTS:

All fighters in the Draft/Free Agent Pool will be available at all times.

Throughout the season you may want to improve your roster by adding available free agents and release fighters that are not performing up to your expectations. You can submit a free agent request by PM to the commissioner. The deadline for picking up free agents will be Monday 4:00 pm CST every game week and will open again at Wednesday 6:00 pm CST. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served using the Waiver process. (see Waivers below)

There will be a limit of 3 Add/Drops per week that you can request. When submitting your free agent request by PM, you must state who you want from the Draft/Free Agent Pool and who you will be releasing from your roster.

When requesting and releasing fighters through the waiver process, all teams must remain at or under the 105 point cap when the transaction is complete.

Any free agent transaction that leaves a team over the 105 point cap will have their selections voided and the selected fighter(s) will be returned to the draft/free agent pool and made available to the next legal waiver request. If you have a voided selection, you will not be notified of the voided transaction(s) before the start of next weeks round action.
All awarded free agents will be announced on Monday prior to the start of the leagues weekly team matches.

WAIVERS:
To provide an equal opportunity to all managers to add fighters to their roster that are new to the Draft/Free Agent Pool, a Waiver process is used. Fighters that you request by PM will be put in a pending status. This allows multiple teams to request the same fighters. The order these requests are processed is based on the Waiver Rank of each team.

WAIVER RANK:

1. Lowest point total

2. Second lowest point total

3. Third lowest point total........following this pattern down to

16. (highest scoring team)

The waiver ranks will change after each weeks of action.

Pending transactions are processed in an order determined by each teams waiver rank. A team with a waiver rank of 1, considered the highest, will get its requested selection first. After the transaction is executed, the team's waiver rank is then set to 16 (last), and all other teams waiver rank move up one.

If a teams number one requested fighter becomes invalid because another team received the requested fighter first, the requested fighter is deleted and the teams second request if available becomes that teams number one request.

When requesting and releasing fighters through the waiver process, all teams must remain at or under the 105 point cap when the transaction is complete. If awarded a waiver selection, it will become effective immediately.

All awarded free agents will be announced on Monday prior to the start of the leagues weekly team matches.

It's been quiet around here.
If everybody is cool with the revised rules and if there are no more managers that are interested in testing the free agent waters, I'll move the start of season 2 up to tomorrow night instead of 2006/09/11.
Let me know.
If I hear nothing, the start will happen on the original stated start date.

Well, I'm not picking up any free agents so I'm fine with moving up the starting date.

I am off to New Hampshire again today (early start) and would love nothing better than to have this rolling along by the time I get home!

The only thing I didn't care for to-date was the notion of adding next year's draft pool to the free agent pool slowly throughout the season. If I understood that correctly then lodge my comment as one vote against that idea. If I got that wrong simply chalk this up to diminished comprehension skill at 3:57AM.

Christopher
The entire next year's draft pool will not be added slowly, just a small percentage. It will be 1 to 5 rated boxers that will be added from next years draft pool. Every once in awhile a 6 will be added. Not all of them, just a few for this first year of free agents to help establish a stocked draft/free agent pool. If I left the current pool stocked as is, I didn't think there would be much movement in the free agent market this year.
Also I will not make any announcements as to when any new fighters have been added to the draft/free agent pool. Everyone will have to keep an eye out for any new additions to the pool.
