T-storms rolling in. I'm shutting down my pc for the night. I'll ponder some names to send into Sal as possible additions to the draft list.

Well, the draw in round 5 didn't help me in any way. Hopefully I can pull out a win in round 6.
I'm surprised that Leo Lomski won the LHW title, I wonder how long he can keep it though. *keeps fingers crossed*

I'm severely disappointed with Memphis Pal Moore only managing a 5-5-0 (1) record so far. Hopefully he gets his act together and pull out a few more wins for the team.

Bout logs will be delayed due to power outages caused by a storm here. The power is now restored but my internet connection speed is really slow (think slower than dialup) so I will not be able to download/upload the bout logs until they are back to normal.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

My apologies go out to all of the UTBA managers.
I forgot I would be watching the Yankees on the tube tonight, so the second half of round 6 will not take place until later tonight and into tomorrow. Sorry for the delay once again.

No problem... Maybe you'll get bored after the Yankees score their first 37 runs tonight - but that's what a 200+ million dollar payroll will do against the sorry Tigers.

I'm actually watching the game too, but am sickened by what the Yankees have become. I know they are just playing by MLB rules, but there has to be some limit to what is allowed. I guess Steinbrenner expects to have a future Hall-of-Famer at every position with All-Stars backing each of them up.

I hope I'm wrong (and right now it's only 5-3 with the Tigers trying to mount a rally)

Being a die-hard Red Sox fan, my second favorite team is anyone playing the Yankees on a given day...

I was just about to note that the sorry Tigers are mounting a comeback but you beat me to the punch.

I know, but it just make is all the sweeter when they loose. And they certainly don't win them all - money only goes so far.

Not only don't the Yankees win them all but when was the last time the Yankees won a World Series. It's been like what 5 or 6 years since the last time even with a Hall of Famer at every position.

I'm a fan of the other Sox. Dissapointed after last year. I've never minded the Red Sox. Kindred long suffering spirits. There are some teams I flat out hate, like the Mets and Yankees, others that I dislike, Twins and Dodgers, and others I don't mind. I admit to a long time fondness for the Angels going back to their inception. Big Klu, our '59 Series hero went to them in the expansion draft and they became my second favorite team.
My dad would tell me stories about all of the players when I got baseball cards as a kid. Was a lot of fun showing cards I just got and hearing his tales about guys like Paw Paw Charlie Maxwell's Sunday hitting.
Grew up hating the Yankees who handed me years of heartbreak as a kid. My dad took me to see my first ball game in '59 Sox vs. the Yankees and we won a squeaker. I was terrified when Enos Slaughter came up to pinch hit for the Bronx Bombers when the score was close but we got him out.
I hook up with some buddies from Lowell, MA at the IBHOF every year, also Red Sox fans. They've known Mickey Ward since he was a young kid. Mickey and Carbajal spend some time at our table talking fights every year.

If you add another hundred to that five or six it still won't make up for the suffering and the scars the Yankees gve me during my childhood and teens. But I can hope for that kind of drought.
I've still got three upper deck box seat tickets to the 1964 Chicago White Sox World Series. We finished a game out, and the Orioles two games out. More people remember the Phillies collapse of the year insted of the American League Race. Sox picked up Moose Skowrun and he almost led us to the promised land. The Yankees were ripe for taking that year. Their pitching staff developed some chinks in the starting rotation. Ralph Terry went south on them and Pedro Ramos had left his good innings in Washington. They called up mel Stottlemyre in August and he solidified the rotation and saved their butts.

Dang, so close well there ends the Muckboys' winning streak and if the Kangaroos win big they'll take first place. This sucks I really was hoping for a win here but props to the Breavers they showed why they are the champions by pulling out the clutch win.

On the brightside, we finally got ourselves a champion in Tellez. Plus, we got the Bears up next so we got a good chance to score a big win and get ourselves rolling going into the rest of our division matches.

Congrats to your man Tellez. Also congrats to you Romy for keeping your fighters under control, you didn't have one fighter suffer a DQ loss.
