When do we do the MVP and Rookie of the Year voting and how will we be voting on them?

EOY Awards Voting

I believe that the awards voting will proceed like this:

At the end of the regular season, I will post a list of candidates (since I've pretty much been stats piss-boy this season) and each manager will PM SAL with 3 selections (weighted 1,2,3 w/ 1 being the highest choice). Once all the ballots are in, SAL will compile the results.

If there are any ties, SAL will use his powers as commissioner to cast the tie-breaking vote.

Also, managers should be encouraged to add write-in candidates if they feel strongly about a fighter not listed. I will try to write up a quick little bio for each candidate to validate the reasons why he should be chosen. If anyone feels that there is an issue with this idea, please speak up.

After discussing this w/ SAL, I believe that he would like to see 4 End-Of-Season Awards:

MVP
Rookie Of The Year (season)
Comeback Fighter
Manager Of The Year (season)

In addition to this, I will post the final Points Leader for each Conference and Weight Class. (I'll probably go back and list the Season 1 Points Leaders in the Almanac thread when I get a chance)

Once again, any other suggestions or input are welcome.

This is what I was planning on if there was a tie in the division after the season ended. Just lace up the gloves and go again. The two teams tied would have a one round playoff between themselves to determine the division champ.

On the overall playoff picture as far as seeding goes, if two teams were tied I was going to use total wins as the first tie-breaker and KOs as the second.

What do you guys think? OK or do you want something different. Let me know.

I'll post the rest of the Points Leaders tomorrow - I got wrapped up in watching the baseball game and really couldn't concentrate on compiling stats tonight.

Maybe the team with the least number of DQ losses should get the nod...

(Just kidding)

That knocks Romy and Ice out if they are involved in any ties.

Ha, that it does. We've been the dirtiest bastards around this round. As for the tie-breakers I like them, their pretty fair all around.

Probably getting a bit ahead of where we are, but I've just prepared a schedule for a 20 team, four divison, ten week league.

The first five weeks would be all west v east and north v south matchups, while the second five are all divisional with two intra-conference matches per week.

Scot should have a team if he wants one without respect to how many other people would like to get in. That's just my two cents worth of opinion.

Nice reading the bout logs from a win.

Thanks for the bout logs Umk. Man, that Carroll/Lewis fight was insane the two combined for 9 knockdowns between them that was a heck of a fight. It was just a great round with some excellent fights like Carroll/Lewis, French/Negron, and the entire heavyweight series.

Oh yeah, Umk for some reason the bout logs with Sean O'Grady aren't showing up. I just looked though and none of his bout logs are showing up for any of the rounds.

I sent the Punching Gatitos a PM and gave them a chance to respond. They did not. The UTBA will drop the Gatito's franchise from the league for lack of activity and release all of their fighters to the draft pool at the seasons end.

I've sent out some official invites to board members that said they were interested in joining the league. This will add 5 expansion teams to next season. One expansion team will be placed in the West, North and South divisions while the East division will have 2 added.

If nobody has a problem, we'll stick with the 10 round format for a season and we'll schedule 4 matches in your own division, 5 against the other division in your Conf. and one intra-league team match. The intra-league will be scheduled off of last seasons team performance. Last place in the Gold will face last place in the Silver.........and so on.

Seeing that nobody really had a problem of letting me manage a team in the league, I'll take one of the expansion slots.

Team name will be McCune Mitt Slingers fighting out of Joplin Memorial Hall, Joplin, MO.

I'll let you guys decide on which division to place my team in.

Cool. It'll be nice to have you also playing in the league, instead of just running it. As I said in my post at the top of the page, SAL, I've worked out a schedule so when the divisions for next season are sorted, I'll PM it to you.
