Actually, this may be the one that sticks

It seems pretty balanced.

Ha, right. Put me down for 25$ dollars that at least three of these guys get sent packing before the halfway point of the season.

(4)Gilberto Gonzalez 15-18-1 (11) *pre-prime

I think that my team is improved from last season. The drafting of Diego Corrales (9) addressed the team's biggest weakness - the Lightweight Division. Between Mando Ramos/Larry Boardman/Juan Zurita, I only grabbed 26 points for that entire divison. I expect Corrales to exceed that on his own.

I'm hoping that FLY Ramon Arias (7) scores more points than the Carlos Murillo/Dennis Adams combo did last season (14 pts) and get another good performance out of Gilberto Gonzalez (25 pts).

As for the Heavies, I had to make a cap sacrifice somewhere. As long as George Chuvalo keeps piling up the points (46 points) and get at least 1 or 2 wins out of Duane Bobick, it should be a good tradeoff. Ron Lyle was a disapppointment and scored only 19 Points but I predict that he'll have a bounce-back season on his new team and be in the running for the Comeback Fighter of the Year.

I went into the draft just planning to reinforce my upper divisions by adding some more talent at WW and to fill in my other big hole on the team at FW with Danny Lopez.

I walked out of the draft with an also completely new team. Lopez and Curry should rack up the wins and KOs especially once they go Pre-Prime. Jhonny got on a pretty good roll at the end of last year in the tournment hopefully he can keep that up and raise those power numbers. Truthfully, I think I'm going to end up missing Pete Frissina.

Siki and Williams should provide small upgrades over SSS and Julio. If Jhonny gets his power numbers up and Curry and Lopez live up to my expectations this should be a much improved Muckboy team.

I wanted to improve either my MWs or HWs was thinking about a MW and picking up a guy like Bobick as a free agent when you released Lyle and drafted Bobick. Lyle and my Elmer Ray both were beginners last season and had their growing pains. I expect that they'll be better. There will be two expansion clubs in my division so they'll have some newbies to fatten up on the folks did with me and KC. Lyle is a big improvement over Hatchet Man Shepard who only picked up about five points all season.

More changes to come, however I feel I vastly improved my punching power which was more goal coming in. My HW division remains in tact currently, I wastly improved my LHW division while using up only 3 more in cap space. My MW's are much improved, athough costly. I am very excited about Basilio. My WW and Lw divisions took a hit with losses of Judah and more then likely Cassiani in a cap cutting move. My FW and and Fly division remain in tact, pretty much the strength of my team last season. The Bantams should also be improved. I feel I improved, or will improve 6 out of the 8 weight classes, with 2 getting drastically worse when things are all said and done.

I could not be happier about bringing in Michaelzewski, Basilio, Mugabi, Pimental and even Murphy during this draft and ridding myself of some dead weight Glencoffe Johnson and soon to be Heeney.

considering I didn't have many plans on changing my team, I couldn't resist Matthew Franklin or De La Hoya. I still have to add a couple of 2's. I'm hoping my 2's, 3 and 4 can just avoid getting Ko'd for the most part.

Hard to complain about having 3 10 rated fighters.

I came out of this draft looking pretty much like I thought I would. I like my chances though, looking at my roster, I see no where to go but up.

The Free Agent Wire is closed. It will re-open as soon as the expansion teams are set.

I have sent the word out to the expansion owners instructing them to submit their rosters. Mine has already been shipped to Romy. As I receive the other rosters, I'll pass them along to Romy as well. Hopefully the expansion teams will be set-up in a couple of days. That's wishful thinking but I'm wishing.

Once we have a full 20 teams, some of the troubled cap teams can begin to whittle their cap down with the aid of free agency.

This draft found the Unstable to be busy trying to build on strong showing we ended our first season with. Drafting Archie Moor, as the best availble in the second round improved my light heavies. They had been a strong group with Letterlough and Adamick both making the post season tourney but I couldn't pass up Archie. Letterlough fetched a draft choice. Shored up my weak heavies with a pre-prime Lyle. I don't think I lost much trading Juuko since i picked up Ganigan. When I drafted my expansion team I opted for juuko over Ganigan so that I could get Shepherd, a disappointment. Figure this group of lightweights should be as productive. Stepped up at feather and gained an extra first round pick for next year even though it was sad to part with Charlie Riley. Dropped the ineffective Caveman lee. figure a one can be as equally unproductive. Got some guys to help my first year stars: Becerra, Adamick, Chitalada, and Sanchez. Figure the Cuevas should improve now that he's pre-prime. Lausse produced exactly what I expected him to, and I figure he should do ok, as he had. Looking for word to this new season, getting out of the cellar, and challenging. Moore and Adamick should terrorize their division.

We're going to have a little down time while the expansion teams get their rosters ready. Now is a good time to discuss any rule changes for the upcoming season. I changed a few rules in the UTBA Rules and will post them here and open them up for discussion.

The UTBA League will operate as follows:

The league will consist of:
1) Two Conferences ( Gold & Silver )

2) There will be Ten teams in each conference and both conferences will be split into two divisions each.
(The Gold Conference will have an East and West division).
(The Silver Conference will have a North and South division).

3) There will be 16 boxers on each team, two boxers per each of the 8 original weight classes. (Only the stock database of fighters will be used)

RULES of the UTBA:

1) Team Matches will be run every Saturday 8:00 am CST through Sunday 12 midnight CST.

2) A season will consist of 10 team matches.

3) Teams will face all the teams in their respective divisions one time per season and will face the other five teams that are not in their division but in their conference one time during a season. Each team will have one intra-conference match also. (Gold vs Silver)
The items in blue are what I changed.
First one is common sense. (we went from 8 teams to 10 in each conference)

Second one: I changed the schedule of when I would conduct the matches to better fit in with my personal time. This means any free agent or trades would need to be finalized before Saturday mornings.

Third one: common sense again with the addition of new teams.

At times it gets a little hectic on this thread and especially during the draft. Most of the guys here send me a PM when they are releasing fighters or conducting trades. Some don't. I miss some of the posts and with 20 teams now, my chances of missing them are greater. It just helps me out a great deal when I have a PM. That way I won't miss something you guys wanted to happen with your team.

This one is a biggie. Some guys will have no problem with it but I think others may.

Items in blue are what I changed or added.

2) The order in which teams will draft(straight draft); the team with the worst point total at the end of a season will have the first pick, the team with the 2nd worst point total will have second pick…..and so on.

3) Draft Times:
Starts on a Saturday at 3:00 pm CST.
(Melbourne time will be 8:00 am Sunday, London time will be 9:00 pm, Louisville and the east coast will be 4:00 pm EST and Arizona time will be 2:00 pm)

4) Once the draft begins, teams will have 5 minutes to make a selection. If the 5 minutes has elapsed and a team has not made a selection, their draft pick will be forfeited and the draft selection will proceed to the next team. Each manager is responsible for watching the draft to see when their turn comes up.
*note*
If you think there is a chance you may not be available to make your selection when it's your turn to pick, you may send a PM to the commissioner(Sal) with your picks stated in the order of priority that you want, and I'll make the selection for you based on your list. Do not send a list saying just pick the best talent available. If you are more specific like pick the highest rated HW left in the draft, I will accept that.

5) All teams will draft for the entire three rounds before any roster cuts are made to get under the 105 point cap. Once the draft is over, all managers will have one week to release fighters from their roster or use the free agent waiver wire to get their cap point total under 105.

6) If you lose a pick due to forfeit, there will be no make-ups. No Exceptions!
When we get ready to draft after the next season, I can set up a schedule.
Example:
3:00 - 3:05 pm CST - Oakland Assassins
3:05 - 3:10 pm CST - McCune Mitt Slingers
3:10 - 3:15 pm CST - Left Jab Inc
3:15 - 3:20 pm CST - Hebron Haymakers
3:20 - 3:25 pm CST - Muckboys
.......and so on
This way everyone will know exactly what time it will be when their turn in the draft is up.
If you know you will not be around, send a list and you will not miss a pick.

I sat in front of my computer for 13 hours with few and little breaks Friday.
Spent another 9 hours today. That's to much. With this new format, it will only require that I be on for 5 hours. I can handle that a lot better.
