All other Promotional Teams better beware...

A new threat is on the scene.

Erik Morales, Mexico, Pro Debut vs. Ernie Rios, Mexico, Pro Debut

We are here at the Arena San Pedro in Mexico for the professional boxing debut of Mexico’s Erik Morales and Ernie Rios. Morales is a hot prospect that just recently signed with the Villebillie Boxing Gym. Rios is down at the :46 second mark here in the 1st from a combination of blows to the head and body. A solid cross drops Rios for the 2nd time and he is unable to get up. A fantastic debut win for Erik Morales (KO1). I guess Villebillie made the right decision by picking Morales instead of Rios to represent.

*Just a quick note, did you happen to see my post in your Louisville Boxing Association thread? I was wondering if I could steal some of your HW files from you? I know you said in your thread, that you make them up on the spot and that is why you really havent offered any up, but I would still be interested. If you rather not, it is not a problem. The boxing commission here wont throw you out, just may create tougher match-ups for you to get to the top, j/k!

Just a few quick words from our sponsors...

Just wanted to post a few things that I needed to come up with for the future, because I have "No Doubt" that you are all looking to eventually work your way up to a title shot. I never had any intentions for my uni to go like this, but it is more enjoyable and I am glad that others have an interest. I will do my best to keep the uni moving along so that I can update each of your boxer's careers as soon as possible. Just be patient if I have to step aside or have a lot of bouts to run (this month is crazy with 8 title fights) because I do like to have press articles and not just results when it comes to big fights. I also want to emphasize that I am just an observer and reporter, when it comes to each fight. I do not hinder or alter any results, so if your fighter gets lucky, I will "No Doubt" not change the results so my favorites stay on top (no fixing fights here). Also, if you can let me know what type of record/competition you are looking for, for your fighters next opponent I may be able to narrow down the choices. Otherwise, I will try to put up a list of different catagories: record-builders, debut fighters, experienced fighters to get some rounds in, even record, winning record, higher ranked, and eventually very competitive records when moving up. I am listing only fighters in your boxers country or region until he gains experience. As his record grows, I will offer other regions. Thanks for your participation.

Two notes:

1. I will not arrange any fights between promotional team fighters. I will let you negotiate with each other (either here in the thread or on your own - it is your choice), because hopefully/eventually you will probably run into each other either on the way up to, or in the world rankings. Of course, you could decide to try to match-up with each other earlier in your boxer's careers, but I am assuming that most promoters would avoid that chance of a loss.

2. If/when your fighter has a title, he will still have mandatory defenses according to what the random generator spits out. However, if your number isnt chosen, you can still choose to fight that month, voluntarily, against a fighter that you can choose from a couple of ranked fighters.

It's late over here, I hope this all makes sense?

Ready for Morales list for opponents .. he wants to stay busy.

I haven't made any HW's. I tend to make fighters if there isn't at least 4 new ones ready to come into the mix at the beginning of the year. So I mostly make lower weight guys. Haven't had to make many lately though.

Retroactive fights?

This is just an idea I thought of and wanted some opinions from you promoters. I know that everyone is anxious to get ranked and it may take awhile because each boxer can only fight as the universe moves each month. For instance, Morales has already lined up his next fight for January 1954, but I have so many fights to do right now that it may take a couple of days real time. What do you think about retroactive fighting? You would get a list of fighters that already have more established records, albeit, not so good, from your region. I would set these fights up in the past, would post only the results, but it would speed up your record building. So, Morales, who is 1-0-0 (1) could have a fight with Ricardo Rosel 7-9-0 (2), who has been fighting since June 1950. We could say that they fought in August, July or June, you get the idea. I dont know if this is of interest because I know the fun of managing a fighter is to follow the progressive career. Just let me know what you guys think. Remember, my uni doesnt have aging, so you all will ultimately have a chance to fight the top ranked/rated fighters at prime if/when your fighters get to the world rankings.

Honeyghan’s handlers are not doing him any favors by lining up two quality opponents for his first 2 fights. Teddy Atlas and I agree though, we like a fighter who is willing to step in against good, quality opponents instead of just selecting stiffs to pad one’s record. There is nothing like real ring-experience. You just can’t simulate the hitting and the feeling of being hit in sparring and training. Okay Teddy, maybe the fine folks over at The UK Boxing Group knew what they were doing because their man outscored “Buster” Keeton, 18-0 in the 1st. “Did Keeton come to fight or get your autograph, Teddy?” “That is funny, but the way Keeton is fighting, I would make him pay for my autograph!” Well, Keeton is not much more than a punching bag with arms, legs and a head. Honeyghan takes that round, 20-0. Hey, he finally landed a punch here in the third. Who did this guy beat? I am going to step into the ring and fight whoever this guy, Keeton beat. Keeton is cut and loses this round, 18-2. Well, at least Keeton in consistent - consistently awful. 18-2 again here in the 5th. Yes…um, I mean it looks like Keeton cant get up here at the end of the 6th after being knocked down with five seconds left in the round. Honeyghan finally seals the deal with a (KO6). Man, I have never been so happy and bored at the same time. Happy to see this fiasco end and bored to death by the lack of competitive fighting from one side.
Another good performance for "Ragamuffin Man". I figured Keeton would have put on a better performance and be more competitive but he did show one of his good qualities in being durable and able to take mass amounts of punishment. UK Boxing Group is looking forward to Lloyd's next fight in January.

After carefully considering all the available options Muckboys Promotions have picked Dick Finkbonner to be Rampage's next opponent. Finkbonner is a tough kid who is willing to bring it in a fight so we're sure it should be an excellent show for all of Rampage's fans. In the end there was no way we could in good conscience pass on a chance to fight a man named Dick Finkbonner which is just an amazing name.

Lloyd's opponent for January will be bare knuckler Jim Fell. From what we hear, his chin is tough to crack and will present another good challenge to our fighter.

CABO Championship

CABO Title Fight

Champion Teofilo Stevenson, Cuba, 20-4-0 (19) vs Ansell Baba Adams, Trinidad & Tobago, 13-4-0 (10)

Adams is the largest underdog in boxing history, (even bigger than Douglas - Tyson), a “10” ranked vs. a “1” ranked fighter. Adams makes it into the 6th before the referee has to stop the fight due to a closed right eye. Adams was never down and even had the champion hurt in the 3rd. Stevenson retains his CABO Title by (TKO6).

Not a good omen for Stevenson should he come up against better competition.

Congratulations mh2365, on being part of the developmental team with Chris Conn! I know a lot of people are interested in the role-playing aspect of the game, but I hope you will put in a few words for the continued improvement of the sim-side also. I cant wait for the new database. Hopefully, there will be improvement with mass-changing abilities so we wont have to go through our databases and change everything by hand one at a time! Im interested to see what Andreas has done with the graphics of the game also. Anyways, put in a good word for us loyal "open" game simmers, thanks.
