Nice, this is going to be a slugfest.

Just in case you were wondering why I always put up Tiger's list at the end, it is because I want to try to find good matchups for your opponent list. The ICBA region is a little dry when it comes to building up an early career. It is okay once a fighter is ranked but a little difficult to always find good, quality matchups with decent records when climbing from prospect to ranked fighter.
I took Jackson for exactly that reason. Hopefully Winslow has more 'slug'.

I just try and make sure they all fight, when it gets scheduled is all up to you. Well, an easy ride up is sometimes the way guys go so that will have to be in this case. It will be challenging soon enough I am sure.

Latin American Boxing Association Championship

LABA Title Fight - LaLaguna Auditorium, Torreon, COA, Mexico

[LABA Champion] Diego Corrales, Mexico, 11-0-0 (11) vs [LABA#1] Jose Napoles, 10-1-0 (9)

Corrales-Napoles II. This is a rematch of a fight that marks the only defeat of Napoles' career. Jose Napoles has rebounded well from that setback and has vaulted to the #1 position in the LABA rankings and the #33 ranking in the world. Diego Corrales has continued on his impressive unbeaten streak of 11, and is #26 in the world. The champion comes out and lands the first blow but Napoles responds with a jab, jab, followed by a hook and straight left, 15-9, Napoles in the 1st round. What a 2nd round, 14-13, Napoles. 18-4, as Corrales strings together a few good punches and drives Napoles against the ropes. Napoles responds with a good 4th, 12-4. Napoles unloads in the 5th, as Corrales is trapped in the corner. Napoles lands a wicked uppercut and continues to throw a volley of punches that goes unaswered. Corrales cant go on much longer and the referee jumps in and is waving the fight off! Jose Napoles is the new LABA champion!

Winner: Napoles
Result: (TKO5)
Cards: 39-38, 39-37, 39-37, all three cards in favor of Napoles
Punch stats: 78-204, 38.2% Corrales - 172-319, 53.9% Napoles

Juarez, CHH, Mexico

Salvador Sanchez, Mexico, 3-0-0 (3) vs Jose Luis Ramirez, Mexico, 1-0-0 (1)

Both fighters connect with hard punches to start the fight as Ramirez gets the better of it, 12-6, in the 1st round. Sanchez traps JLR in the corner and works the body, 12-2, in the 2nd. The fans come to their feet as the 4th comes to an end, 16-15, JLR, a round with non-stop exchanges. Sanchez has developed some pretty serious swelling around the right eye. 10-6, JLR in the 5th. The rounds seem to piling up in JLR's favor as he takes the 6th, 15-3. An accidental butt opens a cut under Sanchez's right eye to end the 7th, another round in favor of JLR, 11-6. What a beautiful fight as two skilled boxers lay it all on the line here tonight. Sanchez's eye is starting to close as both men continue to land hard blows, 18-16, Sanchez in the 8th. A left, right combo by JLR to start the 9th, an uppercut by Sanchez, a hook to the body by JLR that has Sanchez holding his side and a perfect combination has Sanchez staggering and collapsing to the canvas with 0:04 seconds remaining in the round. Sanchez is unable to get up and the fight is over! This will be an instant classic on ESPN's Classic Fights!

Winner: Ramirez
Result: (KO9)
Cards: 76-76, 76-76, 77-75 Ramirez
Punch stats: 186-439, 42.4% Sanchez - 240-412, 58.3% Ramirez

Italian Boxing Union Eliminator Semi-Finals - Pala De Andre, Ravenna, Italy

IBU Eliminator Semi-Final #1

Ray Mancini, Italy, 11-0-0 (11) vs Massimiliano Duran, Italy, 15-5-0 (6)

Mancini is eager for a title shot opportunity and it shows here in the 1st round as he goes to work and lands around and through Duran's defense. An uppercut puts Duran down at the end of the 1st but Duran is able to get up and makes it to the corner for his minute break, 29-2, Mancini in the opening round. Duran uses the knockdown as a wake-up call and comes alive in the 2nd, 14-3. A left hook followed by a right cross for a 14-6, 3rd for Mancini. 14-9, 4th for Duran. Both fighters have been warned for low blows as we finish the 5th, 14-6, Duran. 12-6, Duran in the 6th. Mancini needs to be busier as Duran is the more effective fighter to this point of the fight. Duran, 6-5, 8-7, in the 8th and 9th. The 10th is Mancini's first good round in awhile, 13-5. Both fighters take off the 11th, 4-4, but start throwing again in the 12th as Duran gets Mancini on the ropes and does some nice work on the inside. Mancini quickly turns the tide with a short hook that sends Duran flying backwards to the canvas! The momentum has definitely changed as we entered the later rounds. Mancini wins the 12th and 13th, but Duran turns it around in the 14th. Mancini lands another uppercut that drops Duran here in the final round! Duran manages to get up but has probably let the fight slip out of his hands with the two knockdowns scored by Mancini.

Winner: Mancini
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 142-140, 142-140, 143-139, all three cards in favor of Mancini
Punch stats: 403-662, 60.9% Duran - 326-993, 32.8% Mancini

IBU Eliminator Semi-Final #2

Guiseppe Spalla, Italy, 13-4-0 (11) vs Plinio Scarabellin, Italy, 19-3-0 (18)

Winner: Scarabellin
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 144-141, on all three cards in favor of Scarabellin
Punch stats: 237-729, 32.5% Spalla - 411-1167, 35.2% Scarabellin

That does seem to be the case. But better early than later while in the rankings. Hate to tell you this, but you remember you said that JLR was looking at you after Sanchez's last fight - well he was laughing after this fight!

Decent win there for Mancini, now if we can only beat Scarabellin.

I never had any doubt that Napoles would win. Diego got lucky in the first fight and this just proves it. I can see a World title fight in about 3 or 4 fights depending on how things play out. If Napoles doesn't have a mandatory next month then I want a fight against a Top 20ish fighter.

Scandinavian Boxing Union Eliminator - Aalborg Hallen, Aalborg, Denmark

Mikkel Kessler, Denmark, 10-0-0 (10) vs Johnny Widd, Sweden, 14-2-0 (11)

Kessler comes out on fire and takes it to Widd, 21-9, in the 1st round. Widd is hurt in the 2nd but makes it to the end of the round, 25-3, Kessler. Widd gets the Viking Warrior on the ropes and has a good 3rd, 15-6. Widd lands a volley of punches, 17-9, in the 4th. Widd is bleeding profusely through his nose in the 5th. Kessler, 17-10, 16-9, in the 5th and 6th. The 8th is the best round of the fight so far, 14-13, Kessler, followed by an 11-9, 9th for Widd. A big left uppercut is the best punch of the 10th by Kessler. The fight is being stopped in the 11th round, as it looks like Widd is having too much trouble breathing out of his nose.

Cards: 97-93, 97-93, 96-94, all three cards in favor of Kessler
Punch stats: 212-391, 54.2% Widd - 306-824, 37.1% Kessler
