Grand Casino Avoyelles, Marksville, LA, USA

Joe Bugner, England, 20-5-0 (16) vs Denver Jack Geyer, USA, 19-2-0 (14)

Bugner travels across the pond to take on Geyer. The 1st round is close but Bugner takes round two, 17-5 and drops Geyer twice in the 3rd, 24-0. 11-4, Bugner in the 4th. Geyer staggers Bugner with a nice uppercut, 14-12, Geyer in the 5th. All Bugner, 26-2, in the 6th. Another good round for the English fighter as he trades two shots to one, 21-10, in the 7th. Geyer, 14-7, in the 9th. Neither fighter looks the worse for wear as we enter the 12th. As we speak, Geyer lands a straight right that opens a bad gash under the right eye of Bugner. A right hook puts Geyer down in the 13th. Geyer gets up and gets out of the round even though he took a beating, 26-4. All Bugner has to do is stay away and he has this fight won as we enter the 15th. We go to the cards.

Winner: Bugner
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 145-137, 145-136, 145-137, all three cards in favor of Bugner
Punch stats: 265-862, 30.7% Geyer - 445-968, 46% Bugner

Kimbo Slice, USA, Pro Debut vs Jason Gavern, USA, 1-0-0

The Sensation takes on The Street Fighting Legend here at Coconut Creek Casino. Tonight marks the debut of PDP and Kimbo Slice in professional boxing. Slice is a Youtube legend and has made his reputation from fighting in the streets. He has recently taken on MMA but wants to try to see if he can conquer the boxing world. Gavern seems to be a little intimidated by the reputation as he covers up in round one, 20-0. Kimbo again is the aggressor in round 2, 15-7. Gavern opens up in the 3rd, 7-6. Many question if Slice can go rounds and his conditioning. Kimbo pushes Gavern into the ropes and throws hard punches with both hands. Gavern is covering up but is taking some abuse. Gavern needs to respond. The referee steps in and stops the fight here in the 4th round.

Winner: Slice
Result: (TKO4)
Cards: 29-28 Slice, 29-28 Gavern, 29-28 Slice
Punch stats: 54-379, 14.2% Gavern - 143-265, 54% Slice

A double left to the head and body, 16-4, Eubank in the 7th. 25-4, Eubank in the 8th as Pinnock's left eye is starting to close. Eubank continues to pour it on, 22-4, in the 9th. Pinnock is an overmatched fighter here tonight, but Eubank is unable to close the deal. Eubank has won every round and Pinnock's left eye is closed here in the 14th. The referee finally stops the fight on the doctor's recommendation.

French Boxing Federation Championship

FBF Title Fight - Cirque D'Hiver, Paris, France

[FBF Champion] Jean-Marc Mormeck, France, 12-1-0 (11) vs Moise Bouquillon, France, 13-1-0 (10)

The Marksman takes on the challenger, The Iron Man of France, for the FBF Title. A hard right cross puts Bouquillon down at the end of the opening round. A flurry of hard punches puts the challenger down again in the 3rd round. Mormeck is not having any problems here tonight landing his hard shots every round. Bouquillon started off the fight landing a few shots but hasnt seemed to recover from the knockdown at the end of the 1st. An accidental head-butt opens a cut over the left eye of the champion. No, the referee has ruled that it was from a punch. 14-11, Mormeck in the 8th. We'll see if Mormeck has improved his conditioning. The champion is a well-built, muscular man, but he has a propensity to slow down in the last part of a fight. Mormeck, 13-2, in the 10th. Bouquillon is surprisingly still in this fight although he appears to be hopelessly behing in points. Bouquillon is down for the 3rd time in this fight in the 13th round. Bouquillon is down again in the last round and this time he is unable to get off of the deck. Mormeck retains his FBF Championship.

Winner: Mormeck
Result: (KO15)
Cards: 137-126, 138-126, 135-128, all three cards in favor of Mormeck
Punch stats: 183-684, 26.8% Bouquillon - 336-849, 39.6% Mormeck

Kalle Sundström better enjoy his SCANBU belt, he won't keep it for long. Kessler is eyeballing it and Sundström can't dodge him forever.

Tommy,

Since you are from the area - is this fighters name really Karl Sundstrom? I cant find a Kalle or Sundstom, and his number is 115049. This boxrec # doesnt match the fighter Karl Sundstrom, that I found in the Heavyweights from Sweden. Is Kalle another way of saying Karl? This is not my created file it is an imported file so I dont have the info. Thanks

Thank you. Now I have to figure out why this file (Kalle) has a different Boxrec # 115049 than Karl # 235543 if they are the same fighter. Also, Kalle is rated as a "6" when he was only 2-5-3 (2). Do you think I should go with Kalle or Karl?

Emirates Stadium, London, England

Jock McAvoy, England, 1-0-0 (1) vs Callum Langford*, England, 3-0-0

Langford is a tough out for McAvoy tonight. Langford comes into this fight as an unheralded, undefeated prospect with a knockout punch. 6-5, 13-6, McAvoy more impressive in the 1st and 2nd rounds. McAvoy suffers a cut over the left eye in the 2nd round. Langford has a nice 5th round, 15-3, connecting and then moving left or right to get out line of McAvoy's punches. 10-4, McAvoy in the 7th. McAvoy's left eye is beginning to swell up as Langford finally takes a round in the 12th. JM lands a right hook to the temple of Langford that sends him tumbling to the canvas in the 13th. Langford goes down for the second time but manages to make it out of the round. JM closes the fight with a dominant 15th, 22-9.

[27] Stanley Ketchel, USA, 11-0-0 (11) vs [21] Young Stribling, USA, 18-2-2 (10)

The King of the Canebrakes versus The Michigan Assassin. We have a highly anticipated matchup between two, top 30 ranked fighters in the world. The first round is a feeling out round, 10-7, in favor of Stribling. Ketchel goes to work in the 2nd round, 14-0, as Stribling looks dazed at the end of the round. A hard uppercut by Stribling is the best punch of the 3rd round, 15-2. Both fighters square off in the 4th, 15-12, Stribling. The 5th is Ketchel's best round so far, 17-4. Stribling, 10-3, in the 6th. A lot of warnings have been issued so far to both fighters. Stribling's right eye is starting to swell up as Ketchel takes the 8th, 16-11. Ketchel starts the 9th, 16-2, but Stribling rallies at the end 9-0. Ketchel is going to work on Stribling's right eye as it is getting worse each round. A left hook jarred Ketchel in the 11th, 11-4. Stribling walks into a right uppercut that makes him collapse to the ground in the 13th. Ketchel works his way inside and bangs heads with Stribling. A cut has opened under Ketchel's left eye. Good thing that this is the last round. Ketchel closes out the fight, 8-4, 9-6, in the 14th and 15th.

Winner: Ketchel
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 145-140, 144-140, 146-140, all three cards in favor of Ketchel
Punch stats: 305-727, 42% Stribling - 311-1018, 30.6% Ketchel

Sonny Liston, USA, 22-3-0 (22) vs Big George Godfrey, USA, 21-1-0 (18)

Both fighters mean business as they drop bombs with with bad intentions in the very first round, 12-11, Liston. Godfrey lands a short, hook on the inside and puts Liston down on the canvas with a little more than a minute left in the round. Godfrey follows up but Liston does a good job of clinching to survive the round, 19-2. Godfrey again, 10-6, in the 3rd and 4th. 14-7, Godfrey in the 5th. 9-9 in the 6th. Godfrey is really bringing the fight to Liston, 14-12 in the 7th. Liston doesnt seem to be able to figure his opponent out and is fatiguing in the 8th. Godfrey scores another knockdown at the end of the 8th. Liston, 14-3, in the 10th. Liston needs to go to work, he wins the 11th, 12-2. Liston is down again from a big combination in the 12th. He is able to get up but his left eye looks really swollen and his legs are not under him. Godfrey attacks Liston like a shark to blood and continues to put a hurt on the Bear. The fight is stopped at the 2:55 mark of the 12th.

Winner: Godfrey
Result: (TKO12)
Cards: 107-101, 107-102, 106-103, all three cards in favor of Godfrey

Estadio Luis Guillermo Moreno, Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico

Alexis Arguello, Nicaragua, 9-1-0 (9) vs Kermit Cintron, Puerto Rico, 9-1-0 (8)

Both fighters come into this fight in excellent shape and are eager to get the action started. Cintron lands the first shot as the crowd goes wild but Arguello quickly counters and lands a combination, an uppercut followed by a double right that comes straight down the middle and puts
Cintron down on the canvas. Cintron is hurt but there is only 16 seconds left in the round and Arguello isnt able to capitalize with so little time. Arguello continues the onslaught from last round and gets Cintron against the ropes. Arguello is landing blows with both hands and Cintron does not look like he has recovered from the knockdown at the end of the last round. This fight is over as the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Winner: Arguello
Result: (TKO2)
Cards: 10-8, on all three cards in favor of Arguello
Punch stats: 13-33, 39.4% Cintron - 84-218, 38.5% Arguello
