Thanks Chris, and yes, all is a lot better now although I am still in preliminary stages of a pretty big lawsuit as the plaintiff.

Good to hear from the old participants. Again, wanted to apologize for letting the old uni stall, I know that I disappeared quite suddenly but was having some serious issues. And always open to new promoters/managers, welcome SAL. It looks like there is an interest, so I will continue to prepare to get this underway.

Well Billy Goat Promotions would be willing to jump back in. Might want to see if George Stankovich can make another run.

Welcome back by the way. I hope everything is going better for you.

February 24, 2010 - Universe Information

Start of Universe - March 27, 2010

- I will not have control over any fighters.
- I do not hand-select any fighters to enter the universe. You may be able to tell that this is tru by knowing that three fighters from Greece made the initial, random draft to start the universe!
- I do not score fights.
- I do not influence the selection of any fights.
I just oversee the universe and keep track of the stats and timeline. I try to keep everything as random as possible in the universe.

- All fighters will fight in PRIME and there is no automatic aging. Sorry, but I do not like applying the aging function in my universes.

- Any fighter that fought in the heavyweight division in real life (CW's are considered HW's), and has a rated file, is eligible. Examples are: Billy Conn, Thomas Hearns (ended in CW division), Michael Spinks, Bob Fitzsimmons, Mickey Walker, Dave Sands, Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, Stanley Ketchel, Melio Bettina, Roy Jones Jr. These fighters will have the HW rated files and not the ratings in their original division. For example, Michael Spinks is a rated "12" LHW, but will be using the rated "9" HW file rating.

- All promotional teams/stables will start the universe with a maximum of 3 HW fighters. All three fighters will be able to start at the beginning of the universe.

- Each promotional/management group will be given 25 points to use to select their 3 boxers during the initial draft. Each point is the equal value of a boxer's ranking. For example: George Foreman is a "12" rated fighter, so a promotional/management team would have to use 12 out of its 25 allocated points to select him, leaving only 13 points available to draft the next two boxers.

- All unused points remaining from the draft are "bankable" and can be used to acquire more fighters in the future. All stables MUST draft three fighters in the initial draft and cannot save points by only drafting two fighters. Stables will acquire points by meeting universe requirements that will be posted here in the future as they are drafted. Examples would be points for winning Regional/World Titles, wins versus Top 10 opponents, Title Defenses, etc.

POINT SYSTEM

6 points for a Major Title Unification Win (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO)
4 points for a Major Title Win (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO)
2 points for a Regional Title Win
1.5 points for a Major Title Defense vs. #1 Ranked Contender
1 point for a Major Title Defense
0.75 points for a Regional Title Defense vs. #1 Ranked Contender
0.5 points for a Regional Title Defense
0.5 points for a win vs. Top 10 Ranked opponent
0.5 points for five consecutive wins
0.25 points for a win

Promotional teams may use accumulated points at their own descretion to sign new fighters to contracts.

- I am using the rerated version of the fighter files unless a request is made by a promotional/managerial team. For example, Joe Frazier was a rated "12" in the initial default database, but has been rerated at a "13." Dempsey was originally a "13" and has been rerated as a "14." The four highest ranked fighters are Ali, Louis, Dempsey and Marciano. On most occasions, I will also be using the highest rated version of individually created/imported fighter files. An example would be of HW Larry Foley, Australia, highest rated import is at a '10.'

- Just thought of this idea while going through my database - each promoter/managerial team may choose the fighter file of the particular boxer that they want to draft and manage. For example: Matt Skelton has files ranging from '"6-9" in ratings. You can choose how many points you want to use on him. This allows for some flexability while drafting. Maybe you want to draft Vitali Klitschko, but you do not want to spend the 12 points on him because it would severely hamper your ability to draft any other highly ranked boxers. Maybe you feel like taking a chance and believe that a "10" rated Vitali could get into the rankings as well as the "12" and have a chance to win a world title. This will allow each stable to make more decisions and will allow some flexability in drafting fighters.

- After finishing the initial draft, each promotional/managerial team will be asked to hire one trainer and cutman for their entire stable of fighters.

- A list of opponents will be put up shortly after a fight is concluded. Each list will have between 10-20 opponents with varying records. All fighters will be in boxrec (there will be some imported bare knuckle fighter files and old-timers that may not have a boxrec#, but are real fighters. All fighters are real unless listed as fictional to start region. Unknown fictional fighters (I am assuming everyone knows the Rocky fighters) will be listed with an *) so that you may scout future opponents. You may inform me if you want to arrange a fight with a specific fighter. You may also arrange a fight with another promoter's fighter as long as both of you agree to the proposed fight.

- Rocky fighter files will be included in the universe. Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, Tommy Gunn, Union Cane, Mason Dixon and Spider Rico are included.

- A fighter file of Cassius Clay is available. He will be the pre-prime rated version of Muhammad Ali at a "13."

- Fighter files for Teofilo Stevenson, Felix Savon and Igor Vysotsky are available.

- All HW/CW files created by members in the forum are available. I think that I have downloaded pretty much all available files on this forum including files from Bear, Rocco, John Dewey, Chris Conn, Professordp, Vistaman, Icetea, David Myers, Tosti.

- Some of my own fictional boxers will be included. You will not know the ratings of these fighters. I will not control these fighters, they will just be included in the autoscheduled bouts. An example that former promoters will recognize is Chuck "No Doubt" Norton. I can tell you that he is a very formidable fighter in the mold of 'Smokin Joe Frazier. I will provide a list of all fictional fighters in the universe at the initial start-up year and for each successive year.

- Fighters will start out fighting locally. As their careers progress, they will start to fight against regional fighters, move to major regional fights and then to world fights as they progress up the rankings.

MAJOR REGIONS

The four major regions (each individual fighter in the my database is listed under one of the four major regions) are:
*CABO (Continental Americas Boxing Organization) - All countries in the Western Hemisphere excluding the United States.
*EBU (European Boxing Union) - All Western European countries in the Eastern Hemisphere.
*ICBA (Inter-Continental Boxing Association) - All countries outside of Western Europe in the Eastern Hemisphere including Africa, Asia, Middle East, Oceania, Pacific Rim. Russia and Ukraine will be in the ICBA region in this universe (were previously in EBU).
*USBA (United States Boxing Association) - All fighters from the 50 states.

GROUPING

- Beginner - fighters start fighting locally. 0-8 bouts.
- Club - fighters move to club after 7-9 fights and start fighting regional bouts.
- Main - fighters move to main after being ranked and start fighting other World Ranked fighters. *Stole the minus 5 rule from the LBA, once a fighter is 5 wins under 0.500% he moves down a level to club. If he is able to get back to 0.500 he is allowed to move back up to main.

WORLD SANCTIONING ORGANIZATIONS

There are four World Title Organizations listed in order of appearance in the universe:

*WBA - will be introduced after there are 25 ranked fighters.
*WBC - will be introduced after there are 50 ranked fighters.
*IBF - will be introduced after there are 100 ranked fighters.
*WBO - will be introduced after there are 200 ranked fighters.

*Rules to be drafted. Each organization will have a time frame for title defense against mandatory #1 contender.

RANDOM SELECTION FOR TITLE DEFENSES

Opponents for title fights will be chosen by random generator unless promoter requests specific opponent or arranges fight with another promotional team.

*(1) - 25% chance of no fight for the month.
*(2) - 25% chance of title fight with #1 ranked contender within organization.
*(3) - 25% chance of title fight with top 10 ranked opponenent.
*(4) - 25% chance of title fight against hand-picked opponent (bum of the month club).

* Amendment - I have decided that I will have the manager of the champion pick the single, random number (the way you did for the initial draft) to determine which result the champion will have to face instead of using a random number generator. After selection of a number, I will post the sequence of the above numbers of results that I have chosen for that champion. For example: 2134, 1234, 4321, 3143, etc. The result will be determined by where the chosen number falls in the sequence (which 25% it lands in). Percentage will change to 33% after a mandatory fight against the #1 ranked opponent, due to the fact that an organization will not mandate another fight versus another #1 contender for a set period of time so that 25% will be eliminated.

LENGTH OF BOUTS

- I have decided to change the length of bouts in this universe. The prior universe only had bouts of 15 rounds in length. This universe will have regular bouts at 10 rounds, regional title bouts at 12 rounds and all world title bouts at 15 rounds in length.

- Bouts will be scheduled by first response to fighter lists. I will do my best to put up as many fighter lists as soon as prior fights are completed.

LENGTH OF TIME OFF BETWEEN BOUTS

- Fighters will have to sit out a specific amount of time depending on the result of a completed bout. Time restrictions are listed at the top of the Promotional Stables & Records page and are posted below.

CONSEQUENCES OF FIGHT RESULT:

*Minimum length of time (required rest) between bouts = 31 days.
*Fight goes past 6 rounds, fighter adds one week to length of time (required rest) between bouts. (Added on 4/17/10)
*Fight goes the distance, fighter adds two weeks to length of time (required rest) between bouts. (Added on 4/17/10)
*Knockdown suffered regardless of outcome/result of fight = mandatory one week rest time per knockdown added to length of time between next bout.
*Cut suffered during fight regardless of outcome/result of fight = fighter must sit out two months before next fight. Cut in January means must sit out Feb/March, next fight in April.
*Loss by decision = fighter must sit out one month before next fight. Loss in January means must sit out February, next fight in March.
*Loss by stoppage (KO, TKO) = fighter must sit out two months before next fight. Loss in January means must sit out Feb/March, next fight in April.
*Loss by DQ = fighter is suspended and must sit out period of four months before next fight. DQ in January means must sit out Feb/Mar/April/May, next fight in June.

- The start-up year of the universe will be in 1980. No particular reason, just a random starting date. I will autoschedule two years (1978, 1979) for all the fighters that were randomly chosen to enter the universe to add some depth and provide fighters with different records. I can tell you that as of (2010-03-10), I have a HW Database of over 7250 boxers. I am going to start the universe with roughly 25% of the fighters in the database, randomly chosen (I will not hand-select any fighters). Since the draft is going to provide a top-heavy selection of approximately 24 (drafted) highly rated (10-15) fighters, I am going to lessen the chances of selecting non-promotional fighters in the 10-15 range. This will also allow for more top-rated fighters to stay inactive because there is already a core group of top-rated fighters in action and will provide a group to be signed after the universe is under way (when a promotional team has acquired enough points). I will increase the percentage of fighters randomly selected, rated in the 0-1 range, to provide a wide selection of tomato cans to build records and to reflect a correct percentage of club-type fighters to top-ranked contenders.

- Feel free to PM me for any information if you do not feel comfortable leaving certain ideas, info or requests in a post. Otherwise, just post your questions here in the thread and I will respond as quickly as possible.

- Remember that I am on the west coast and work on a Pacific Time schedule, even though I am usually doing a lot of my work during the night and early morning hours.

- More information will be added.

I'll say this right now btown. That Muckboy bunch you have is an unruly and rude bunch. Anytime they want to pick a fight with Big Red Promotions, we'll accept the challenge. No need to clear it with us first.

Wow, a rivalry forming already and we haven't even started! The one quality I like about Muckboys Promotions, is that they are willing to take fights with anybody and at anytime.

I'll give this a go, also. My company will be Boardwalk Promotions, based in Atlantic City. The boss is Robert Tattaglia, a shady character with suspected links to the Jersey mafia. My stable of fighters will train in North Bergen. Hopefully I'll be able to snare Joe Jeannette.

Thought Liston or Carnera might have fit Tattaglia's choice for his stable.

My boys will be happy to mop the floor with whatever bums make up Big Red Promotions anytime and anywhere. Those fights should make for a nice and easy sparring sessions for my boys to show their skills before they move up to real fights.
