I think it was professordp at the ending part of his Stevenson thread. The original was a "10" rated version created awhile back in the created HW thread before 2.5 came out.

Draft Board

Each promotional/management group will be given 25 points to use to select their 3 boxers during the initial draft. Each point is the equal value of a boxer's ranking. For example: George Foreman is a "12" rated fighter, so a promotional/management team would have to use 12 out of its 25 allocated points to select him, leaving only 13 points available to draft the next two boxers.

Just thought of this idea while going through my database - each promoter/managerial team may choose the fighter file of the particular boxer that they want to draft and manage. For example: Matt Skelton has files ranging from '"6-9" in ratings. You can choose how many points you want to use on him. This allows for some flexability while drafting. Maybe you want to draft Vitali Klitschko, but you do not want to spend the 12 points on him because it would severely hamper your ability to draft any other highly ranked boxers. Maybe you feel like taking a chance and believe that a "10" rated Vitali could get into the rankings as well as the "12" and have a chance to win a world title. This will allow each stable to make more decisions and will allow some flexability in drafting fighters.

All unused points remaining from the draft are "bankable" and can be used to acquire more fighters in the future. All stables MUST draft three fighters in the initial draft and cannot save points by only drafting two fighters. Stables will acquire points by meeting universe requirements that will be posted on the Universe Information page in the future as they are drafted. Examples would be points for winning Regional/World Titles, wins versus Top 10 opponents, Title Defenses, etc.

The professor is a likely suspect, but I also have a 12 version. I reasonably sure he did one of these, but I'm not sure about which one

Can you please do me a favor and please post the 12 version also? I only remember a 10 and 11. I tweaked my own ratings to get a 12 version but I don't remember finding one on the boards. Thanks.

Yes, can you please post the 12 file. I only have a 9, 10, and 11 HW file for Fitzsimmons. Do you know who created the file? Thanks. Also, do you still have the list of names of the UK fighter files? To anybody - I am looking for any HW/CW created fighter files from the UK, not included in the TBCB database. Again, I have downloaded the files in the threads, I am looking for files that some individuals may have created and are willing to share!

a87star, just wanted to find out if you are using the 2.0 or 2.5 version of the game because the file that you sent me converts to an "11." i have the file that John created for Fitz in his thread and it is an "11" also. The stats are a little different but when you press the save button, both files save at an "11." I believe that John re-rated at an "11." I will ask him in his thread.

I'm using the 2.5 version of the game.

In John's Ratings of the Day thread

Bob Fitzsimmons - Heavyweight

Here we have Fitz as a heavy. This is the incarnation he is best known to boxing fans as.

As before I will only mention a rating if im going to change it.

STYLE - EITHER - As mentioned in his middle rating. Fitz was an early model of the boxer/puncher.

INTELLECT - 9 - He was a very canny fighter and in this stage of his career after already being middleweight champion he was able to outthink most of the bigger guys in this division.

CONTROL VS BOXER - 12 - this needed boosting considerbly as he was always more effective against pure boxers such as Corbett.

CHIN VS KNOCKOUT - 3 - He despite having a good chin was still way over his natural weight and this did have an effect on his punch resistance and the amount of times he was stopped.

RECOVERY - 2 - Again this takes into account his difficulty with the heavier punches.

CUTS - 2 - both the harder punches coming his way and the fact he was now somewhat a veteran. not a bleeder by any means, but his skin had more tendancy to cut and swell at heavy.

AGGRESSIVNESS - 7- He was more static as a heavy and let opponents come to him where he could use his good hand speed and accurate punching to nail them coming into him.

DEFENSE - MINUS 2 - he bacame more canny defensively as a Heavy maybe as he realised he didnt want to get hit by the heavier punches and had to take less chances. Or maybe it was his greater speed or experiance at this higher weight. Whatever the answer Fitz's defenses improved.

HITTING POWER - 10 - this is a big reduction from my rating of 13 at his middle rating but still way up from the official database of 6. He was still a very hard hitter at this weight and took out many heavies in one sided blow outs. Fitzs power even at heavy should never be under estimated.

PUNCHES LANDED - 44 - Way up on the offiical version. Fitzs two great strengths were always his power and just as importantly his amazing straight accuracy.

COUNTERPUNCHING - 42 - see above, slightly reduced from 44 as he was never a true counterer.

PUNCHES MISSED - 60 - again he jsut did not miss or waste many punches very economical.

OVERALL RATING - 11 - You will find he is still great at this level but he will be vulnerable and somewhat unpridictable against a heavy puncher, against light hitting boxers he is still very deadly.

Fitzsimmons file rates out as an "11"

a87star, here is the file you sent me (djday45) and the stats:

Either
Occasionally
3
3
1
3
70

6
2
9
10

CFB 12
CFS 11
3
2
2
2
2
8
7
9
-2
2
2

HP 10
44
40
60

Overall rating = 11

Like I said, when you hit the save button, it rates out at an '11,' so my question is, do you still want Ruby at an '11?' Unless there is a file out there with a '12' I believe that the highest rating made for Fitz was an 11 at HW. Does anybody else have another file, would appreciate it?

Thank you, Bear. Okay, this one stays at "12." The two slight variables in the statistics are:

fighting on the ropes = 1 instead of 2
counter-punching = 42 instead of 40

both of these little differences hold the rating at a "12." Somehow, I missed this file in John's earlier thread. To a87star: if you look at the file that you sent me, the two above ratings are at 2 & 40 which does drop the rating to an '11' when you calculate and save. I don't know if it is holding when you hit the button in your db, but you may want to adjust these two stats back.

So, a "12" it is for Bob Fitzsimmons and the UK Boxing Group.

Again, this is why I enjoy this forum - because all the long-time members are so helpful and make the game so much more enjoyable due to the interactions and insight that is willingly shared.

In the earlier version of this uni you had some MMA fighters like Rampage Jackson and Kimbo Slice. I'd be interested in seeing their ratings. Would you mind posting them?

I will look for them because they are separated from my database. Kimbo was a file created by somebody else who emailed it to me (cannot remember who right now).

LOL, I keep thinking it's my pick when I see activity in here. Having run these drafts myself I know how annoying waiting is.
