Look at the Sharkeys both being involved in two major upsets. To bad for Jack that he was on the wrong side of his upset, B.J. only beat Jack once in my simmed tournaments. Outside of that nothing suprised happened in that tournament. I knew the Spinks fight was going to be tough but I was hoping Rampage would be to get to Spinks' chin cause I wanted that Czyz rematch pretty badly. I'm going to give Rampage the next month off since he was pretty busy this one. I'm shocked that Tom was able to beat Ali it'll be interesting to see how long he hangs onto the belt.

EBU Championship - Second stunner in March!

EBU Title Fight

[Champion] Max Schmeling, Germany, 22-5-1 (20) vs. [5/39] Franco Cavicchi, Italy, 12-1-0 (8)

Rounds 1 and 2 are routine rounds for Schmeling as he lands punches and stays away from any damage. Cavicchi comes out and lands a barrage of punches that sends the champ sprawling to the canvas here in Germany. Schmeling is unable to get up and we have the second stunning championship upset here in the month of March! The end comes at the :47 second mark of the 3rd round and the new EBU Champion is Franco Cavicchi.

Winner: Cavicchi
Result: (KO3)
Cards: 20-19, 20-18, 20-18, all three in favor of Schmeling.
Punch stats: 30.8% - 43.8% Schmeling

I wanted the Jackson/Czyz II fight too. I thought that Rampage had a chance too, because Spinks doesnt have enough power to end fights at the HW division. I was surprised at how well Czyz did and is doing in the HW division overall. I don't think Tommy will hold on to the IBF title too long. He is a good slugger but lacks the defense.

USBA Championship - Upset March continues!

USBA Title Fight

[Champion] James J. Corbett, USA, 14-1-0 vs. [24/34] Jersey Joe Walcott, USA, 14-1-0 (11)

Corbett makes his 1st defense of the title. This fight is too close to call right now as we enter the 11th round. Walcott had Corbett stunned in the 4th and was hurt himself in the 8th, otherwise it has been a give and take type of fight. Jersey Joe looks a bit tired but goes to work in the 11th, 21-6. Looks like Walcott is pressing the action as he takes his second straight round. Corbett is being too much of a “Gentleman” and is letting this fight get away from him. Walcott, 16-3, in the 13th. The champ wakes up and takes round 14, 16-3. We will see if Jersey Joe Walcott did enough to take the title away from the champ, James J. Corbett.

Winner: Walcott
Result: (SD15)
Cards: 144-143 Walcott, 144-142 Corbett, 144-142 Walcott.
Punch stats: 32.4% - 40.9% Corbett

WHBA Championship - Champions go 0-4 in March!

WHBA Title Fight

[Champion] Earnie Shavers, USA, 13-4-0 (13) vs. [19/28] Joe Jeannette, USA, 15-2-0 (11)

Shavers is making his first title defense after his stunning victory over Sam Langford. Shavers lands a hard cross and has Jeannette hurt in the 1st. Jeannette comes back and takes the next 3 rounds. Shavers conditioning has always been a question mark in his career and it looks as though it is coming into play again. Although, Shavers power always allows him to have a puncher’s chance in any round of any fight. Jeannette puts Shavers down in the 6th. Shavers is able to get up but looks fatigued entering the 7th. Jeannette develops some serious swelling under the left eye as Shavers drops some bombs, 19-6, in the 7th. Shavers has Jeannette hurt in the 8th but doesn’t have enough time to follow up. Shavers eats the floor again in the 10th but stumbles to regain his footing and finishes out the round. Jeannette puts the champ down two more times in the 11th and final round as Shavers is unable to get up at the end of the round. Joe Jeannette is the new WHBA Champion.

Winner: Jeannette
Result: (KO11)
Cards: 96-93, 97-92, 97-92, all in favor of Jeannette.
Punch stats: 46.5% - 34.9%

A report on some pro debuts and upcoming amateurs...

In this update, we will be bringing you the names of some prospects that recently turned pro and some amazing amateurs that are getting set to earn a paycheck.

ICBA

Shane Cameron, New Zealand, 3-1-0 (3) - started his professional career in New Zealand's National Tournament. Made it to the finals and eventually lost to Maurice Strickland.

Alexander Jacob, Uzbekistan

Joshua Clottey, Ghana

John "The Beast" Mugabi, Uganda - his debut has been delayed and he is expected to get his career underway anytime soon.

Manny Pacquiao - Philippines - same situation as Mugabi. Should debut in pro ranks shortly.

CABO

Miguel Cotto, Edwin Rosario and Felix Trinidad, Puerto Rico - In an unusual situation, all three Puerto Rican fighters have decided to turn pro on the same day. Look for them to make their pro debuts in April or May of this year.

Jose Napoles, Cuba - A superstar in the making, 76-8-0 (54) in the amateurs, and is looking to turn pro at the end of the year.

Joel Casamayor, Cuba - Another prospect from Cuba, 34-3-1 (21) in the amateurs. Not quite to the level of a Napoles, but is a talented and quick, defensive type of boxer.

Arturo Gatti, Canada - A big time brawler that likes to mix it up. Was 40-8-0 (31) in the amateurs. He is looking to turn pro at the end of the year or beginning of next year.

Bunny Johnson, Jamaica

Diego Corrales, Fernando Vargas, David Cabrera, Tony Fuente, Mexico. Cabrera moves up from the CW division where he had a very successful career. Corrales and Vargas made their debuts in their National Tournament. Vargas ran into an upset in the quarterfinals while Corrales won the championship. Fuente is an active fighter, getting in the ring as often as possible.

EBU

Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik, Slovakia - An exciting fighter with excellent punching power. Is undefeated in the amateur ranks right now, 31-0-0 (28), and has generated a lot of excitement. Should turn pro very soon.

Oleg Platov, Ukraine - Used the Ukrainian National Tournament as a springboard into the professional ranks and won the title by going 4-0-0 (4).

Tomasz Adamek, Poland - He also used Poland's National Tournament to make his mark as a heavyweight by winning the tournament, going 4-0-0 (3). Adamek had previous success as a LHW, but has decided to move up in weight classes.

NP Jack Dempsey, Ireland - Has a tremendous resume as an amateur, 45-3-10 (13), and seems destined for success.

Ondrej Pala and Rudolf Kraj, - Two Czech Republic fighters that have stirred up a lot of interest after having a lot of success in the amateur ranks.

Heinz Lazek, Austria

USBA

Chad Dawson, USA - Has decided to move up to the glamour division. Fought in the LHW's in the amateurs with an unblemished record.

Donald "Doomsday" Winslow, USA - Heavy-handed slugger from the mean streets of Los Angeles, California. 6'5", 261lbs, reminds people of a much larger version of Mike Tyson.

...will be updated as we gather more information

Nice list of fighters that are debuting soon. I think a majority of them will become stars.

btown, I noticed you changed Pavlik's country to Slovakia. Was that to give that region extra fighters?

Yes. No matter how many HW files I create, the USA boxers just outnumber the other regions by such a wide margin, 2-1 for Europe, 4-1 for CABO and ICBA. Right now I am close to 4300 files, 2200 for USA. That is also why Corrales, Vargas are under Mexico, and Mancini is under Italy.
