Muckboys Promotions and Napoles are looking forward to his professional boxing debut either later this month or in June versus:

Lazaro Almanza, Cuba, 1-1-0
Hugo Alvarez, Cuba, 0-2-0
Rocky Casola, Cuba, 1-1-0 (1)
Alfredo Fernandez, Cuba, 0-2-0
Luis Leandro Gonzales, Cuba, 1-1-0

Leo Sanchez, Cuba, 1-1-0
Toribio Suarez, Cuba, 0-2-0
Emilio Vergara, Cuba, 0-9-0
We at Muckboys Promotions are very excited to have Jose Napoles join us. In Napoles we feel that we have a legitimate World Title contender and a man that will make our jobs really easy. I had a long discussion with Napoles and his goal is a major World title so he is willing to bypass the Cuban National Title should Felix Savon hold it to instead focus moving up on the World stage. Also, Napoles has spend quite abit of time in Mexico during his life and he loves the country and wishes to hold some fights there so he is issuing a open challenge to all the top Mexican fighters, the Morale's and Arreola's of Mexico, that he will come to their hometowns to fight them if their willing to step and take it.

Looking over the list of possible debut victims we can't find anyone that might pose even a minor threat. It might be fair to let the lot of them fight Napoles at the same time but since that isn't possible Napoles will be knocking out Silvino Martinez later this month.

Whoa Nellie!!! Is this Napoles doing all the talking or his management team? Reminds me of Floyd on 24/7! LOL! Good stuff though. Maybe he wants to be an old school fighter and take 3 fights in a month! Check tomorrow morning, I will do his fight a little later.

An impressive debut in Cuba...

Jose Napoles, Cuba, Pro Debut vs. Silvino Martinez, Cuba, 3-6-0 (1)

Holguin, Cuba. Napoles starts his professional career with a sensational 1st round, 23-2, landing several accurate shots to the head and body of Martinez. Martinez’s left eye is starting to swell after taking some vicious shots, 17-3, in the 2nd. 25-3, in favor of Napoles, here in the 3rd. Martinez doesn’t have much left as Napoles is just picking his shots. Another big round, 26-0, as Napoles is in complete control of this fight. And the fight is finally stopped at the 2:36 mark of the 6th round. Martinez was just taking too many shots and his eye was nearly completely shut.

Winner: Napoles
Result: (TKO6)
Cards: 50-44, on all three cards in favor of Napoles
Punch stats: 36-156, 23.1% Martinez / 252-517, 48.7% Napoles

Lets just say that Napoles' management spiced up what he said abit.

Would have liked to see Napoles get Martinez out of there faster but I can't really complain when my fighter pitches a shutout. Excellent debut for Napoles.

I was surprised that Napoles didnt finish it off sooner too, but he was in control of the whole fight and was really never even hit. I just think he wanted to get in some ring work.

Povetkin goes the distance...

Alexander Povetkin, Russia, 15-3-1 (10) vs Rob Calloway, USA, 10-5-2 (9)

Princess Chateau, Lodi, NJ, USA. Rob Calloway moves up from the Cruiserweight division to take on Russia’s Alexander Povetkin. Calloway is a bit undersized in this matchup, 210-230 lbs, but is using his quickness to get his punches off in the first two rounds. Povetkin comes back and takes rounds 3 & 4, 11-2, 18-8. The pro-U.S. crowd tries to cheer on Calloway, but it seems as though Povetkin has won 2 out of the last 3 rounds heading into the eighth. A wild 8th, 20-11 Povetkin, has the crowd up on their feet cheering the action in the ring. The action slows in rounds 9 & 10, but Povetkin starts to pressure his opponent, 18-6, in the 11th. Calloway hit’s the deck from a well placed body shot in the 12th. Calloway is in serious trouble and needs a stoppage to win this fight. We enter the 14th, and Povetkin goes down from a straight right from Calloway at the 1:15 mark. Povetkin gets up and is able to survive the round. We go to the last round. Calloway finishes strong but will it be enough?

Winner: Povetkin
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 144-140, 144-139, 145-139, all three cards in favor of Povetkin
Punch stats: 241-709, 34% Calloway / 356-1125, 31.6% Povetkin

Cane KO's the Soldier...

Union Cane, USA, 4-1-0 (4) vs. Soldier Fuqua, USA, 4-2-0 (3)

Broadway Arena, Brooklyn, NY, USA. Cane takes the 1st, the 2nd looks even, and Fuqua took the 3rd, in a very close fight. Fuqua has Cane dazed in the 4th, 17-7. Cane responds with a strong 5th and outworks Fuqua by a small margin in the 6th. Cane looks like he has found the range as he is scoring with a variety of punches in the 7th and 8th. Fuqua is knocked down in the 9th and cannot get back up with 1:25 left in the round.

Winner: Cane
Result: (KO9)
Cards: 78-75, 78-75, 77-76, all three cards in favor of Cane
Punch stats: 129-413, 31.2% Fuqua / 223-541, 41.2% Cane

Povetkin has really been chin checked the last two fights. U.K. Boxing Group is concerned that this could really effect his chances against Euro/World HW's. We'll be planning on getting Povetkin in the gym to work on his defense before his next scheduled fight in June.
