Cotto moves to 3-0...

Miguel Cotto, Puerto Rico, 2-0-0 (2) vs Miguel Otero, Puerto Rico, 0-3-0

Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot, Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Cotto starts off fast and looks impressive in the first two rounds, 16-2, 17-4. A 26-6, third round by Cotto leaves Otero with some swelling around his left eye. Miguel Cotto puts Otero down once in the 4th and continues to pursue and batter Otero throughout the round. The ref takes mercy on Otero and stops the fight at the 2:14 mark of the 4th as Cotto maintains his unblemished record.

Winner: Cotto
Result: (TKO4)
Cards: 30-27, on all three cards in favor of Cotto
Punch stats: 25-63, 39.7% Otero - 153-269, 56.9% Cotto

The "Kiwi Tank" rolls on...

George Stankovich, New Zealand, 8-0-0 (8) vs Don Mullett, New Zealand, 10-7-0 (6)

Takapuna Rugby Club, Auckland, NI, New Zealand. The “Kiwi Tank” is back in action and takes the 1st round, 17-3. Rounds 2 & 3 are split. Stankovich wins the 4th decisively, 22-4, and clearly lands the harder punches. The next few rounds are where Stankovich usually puts his man away. Round six sees Stankovich landing a nice combo that slumps Mullett into the ropes and down to the canvas. Mullett gets up at the count of seven and gets out of the round even though his eyes still look glassy. And there it is, the “Kiwi Tank” lands the right cross and puts Mullett down for the 2nd time in round 8. Mullett bravely gets up but is not allowed to go on at the 2:46 mark of the 8th.

Winner: Stankovich
Result: (TKO8)
Cards: 69-63, 68-64, 68-64, on all three cards in favor of Stankovich
Punch stats: 126-363, 34.7% Mullett - 222-596, 37.2% Stankovich

Strong debut for Arguello...

Alexis Arguello, Nicaragua, Pro Debut vs. Kid Clifford, Belize, 0-1-0

Palace Theater, Belize City, Belize. Arguello takes his first professional round, 13-6, with some excellent counter-punching. Arguello seems to have figured out that Kid Clifford’s punches lack the power to hurt him and aggressively attack in the 2nd round, flooring Clifford to the dismay of the home crowd. Kid Clifford avoids anymore serious damage by staying on the outside in the 3rd. But the 4th proves to be the end as Alexis Arguello piles up the punch totals to the head and body as the fight is finally stopped at the 2:25 mark of the 4th round.

Winner: Arguello
Result: (TKO4)
Cards: 30-26, 29-27, 30-26, on all three cards in favor of Arguello
Punch stats: 42-42, 100% Clifford - 117-309, 37.9% Arguello

Yep, just reporting what it said on the post-fight screen. I guess he would be one hell of a fighter if he threw more punches!

No problems, I was going to mention something after you had listed everyone in case you had forgot. Savon will take on Elpidio Pizzaro. He took out Joel so lets see how he does against another top Cuban prospect.

Winner: Napoles
Result: (TKO15)
Cards: 134-133 Napoles, 133-133, 135-131 Casamayor
Punch stats: 293-749, 39.1% Casamayor - 300-776, 38.7% Napoles
Damn, hell of a fight. Casamayor was every bit of the challenge I thought he was going to be. Nice to see Napoles carries his power late into matches really well. You've had a few of this late round rallies in the last couple of months.

This is very true, especially in the last round. Can't be like a typical California fan and leave early, I have to stay 'til the final bell rings!

Jackson puts Gaymon down four times...

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, USA, 5-2-0 (5) vs. Dorcey Gaymon, USA, 6-2-0 (5)

Sportscenter, Owensboro, KY, USA. Gaymon looks more like a prostitute than a boxer in the first round as he keeps ending up on his back. Rampage scores two knockdowns in the 1st. Gaymon must have overheard us because he is fighting back and takes the next two rounds. Jackson scores another 10-8 round as he puts Gaymon down for the 3rd time in the fight in the 5th round. Another knockdown in the 6th and the ref finally steps in to stop the fight even though Gaymon gets to his feet.

Winner: Jackson
Result: (TKO6)
Cards: 49-43, on all three cards in favor of Jackson
Punch stats: 72-185, 38.9% Gaymon - 153-467, 32.8% Jackson

Savon continues to dominate fellow Cuban fighters...

Felix Savon, Cuba, 8-0-0 (7) vs. Elpidio Pizarro, Cuba, 10-4-2 (5)

Bayamo, Cuba. Savon has made his way through the path of fellow Cuban fighter unscathed so far, and faces another challenge in Elpidio Pizarro. Savon dominates the first 2 rounds as Pizarro is frustrated and unable to land any quality punches. Pizarro is on the receiving end of a beautiful combination that puts him down in the 4th. Savan lets his hands go in the 6th and Pizarro is out on his feet when the ref finally steps in to stop the fight at the 2:54 mark of the round.

Winner: Savon
Result: (TKO6)
Cards: 49-46, on all three cards in favor of Savon
Punch stats: 108-301, 35.9% Pizarro - 199-405, 49.1% Savon

A pair of great performances from my boys. I love that both decided to finish things off in the sixth. So how far is Savon from being ranked?

Dissapointing loss for Lloyd after rebounding from that setback against Joe in the UK Tournament. U.K. Boxing Group believes that Lloyd will still be a solid HW. We have not given up on him yet.

Alexander will be facing Valery Brudov in June.

Joe would like to schedule a voluntary British title defense.

Next fight will be his 10th, so he should enter the rating after that. Right now, Savon has (153pp's) which would put him at #3 CABO behind Stevenson (646) and Langford (508).

Tough match-up for U.K.B.G. and Povetkin. Brudov has those 12KO's in 12 wins!

Haven't forgotten. Will post as soon as I finish June's title fights and mass schedule. Also creating all the Nicaraguan HW/CW's (not too many).

Cool, thanks for the info. Might have to start angling for a CABO title shot pretty soon.
