Update...

I know that the release for TBCB3 is a bit aways, but I am really starting to prepare my title groupings. This is good for you promoters/managers because there will be more opportunities to gain a title/title shot. Please check the link to "All Title Holders." The Commonwealth, Eastern Bloc, Latin American and North American should provide some interest for all of your fighters.

Cool, I like the new title belts. With the LABA starting up I think I finally have a firm plan on what to do with Savon when he's ranked. Screw the CNBF belt, we're going for the LABA instead and from there jump up to the CABO.

Joe Calzaghe is ranked #2 overall in the EBU rankings behind Ivan Drago.
Drago is more interested in a world title shot because he is ranked #11 in the world and is 4th in line for a world title fight. He rather wait and not take a shot at losing a fight while waiting for the world title shot. Drago is behind Mustafa Couzee, Jack Dempsey, Cliff Hughes. This means that if you win your optional BBC title defense, Joe and UKBG will be offered either an eliminator bout (most likely) with the next top ranked fighter in the EBU or an outright title shot. Here is the EBU rankings as of now, (remember, I havent finished the June bouts)

EBU Rankings
[Champion] Franco Cavicchi, Italy, 14-1-0 (10)
1. Ivan Drago, Russia, 23-5-0 (22)
2. Joe Calzaghe, UK, 13-0-0 (11)
3. Max Schmeling, Germany, 22-6-1 (20)
4. Sergei Kobozev, Russia, 20-3-0 (17)
5. Soren Peterson, Denmark, 13-0-0 (9)
6. Wladimir Klitschko, Ukraine, 17-4-0 (14)

Let me know what UKBG and Calzaghe think.
Calzaghe and UKBG have decided to take another optional defense of the British Title and hopefully we'll get a offer to fight for the EBU title.

USBA Championship

USBA Title Fight - Cincinnati Gardens, Cincinnati, OH, USA

[Champion] Ezzard Charles, USA, 22-3-0 (16) vs [14/27] Jersey Joe Walcott, USA, 15-2-0 (11)

Champion, Ezzard Charles, grants Walcott a rematch from their great fight in April of this year, when Charles won the title on a split decision. We are hoping that Charles/Walcott II will be every bit as exciting as their previous encounter. The champ opens up early in front of his hometown crowd, and outscores Walcott, 27-2, in the 1st round. Charles maintains his aggressiveness as he takes the 2nd round 16-5. The 3rd goes the way of the previous two rounds, 21-5, for the Cincinnati Cobra. Jersey Joe finally wakes from his slumber and connects with some nice combinations of punches, 23-7, in the 4th. Charles regains control and momentum of the fight and takes the 5th, 6th, and 7th. Walcott responds by attacking in the 8th but looks worn down from the punches that he has absorbed early in this fight. It’s a shootout in the 10th and 11th as Walcott “cowboy’s up” to try to regain his title. Charles lands a wicked shot at the end of the 11th and puts Jersey Joe on his wallet. Walcott is able to get up and survives the round even though he looks completely spent. The fight slows to a crawl but Charles has a big lead and can afford to keep his distance. We will go to the cards for the second time in two fights between these two accomplished boxers.

Winner: Charles
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 145-140, 145-140, 143-142, all three cards in favor of Charles
Punch stats: 245-1059, 23.1% Walcott - 429-862, 49.8% Charles

IBF Championship

IBF Title Fight - Dublin National Stadium, Dublin, Ireland

[Champion] Tom Sharkey, Ireland, 23-4-0 (20) vs [8/12] Smokin' Joe Frazier, USA, 21-4-0 (21)

Sailor Tom versus Smokin’ Joe in what should be a good-ol’ fashioned, slugfest. A combined 41 knockouts in 44 wins between the two warriors. And the champ out punches the “yank” 16-10, in the 1st round. Sharkey takes the 3rd, 10-0, but is unable to avoid Frazier’s power punching in the 4th, 21-10. Both men are throwing punches with bad intentions. Frazier hurts the champ in the 6th, 30-7, but Sailor Tom trudges back to his corner in a slight daze. The champ recovers and takes the next two rounds. He has Frazier hurt in the 8th, 25-10. Frazier starts to do a lot of damage on the inside and takes control of the fight in the 9th. Sailor Tom is caught in the corner and is sent to the canvas by a hard right hook. The champ is able to get up but Frazier continues to put on the pressure and the ref is forced to stop the fight when Sharkey is unable to mount an attack. Joe Frazier comes to Ireland and captures the IBF crown with a stoppage at the 2:48 mark of the 10th round.

Winner: Frazier
Result: (TKO10)
Cards: 86-85, 86-85, 88-83, all three cards in favor of Sharkey
Punch stats: 223-540, 41.3% Sharkey - 293-652, 44.9% Frazier

Cotto is perfect through 3 rounds...

Miguel Cotto, Puerto Rico, 3-0-0 (3) vs. Derrick Rossy, Puerto Rico, 2-2-0

Miramar, Puerto Rico. What an action packed 1st round as both Rossy and Cotto exchange blows, 22-12, in favor of Cotto. Cotto is the smaller man and is outweighed, but continues to charge in and uses his quickness to shoot hard shots to the body, 22-4, in the 2nd. A hard left hook, followed by a straight right and then another hook puts a halt to the fight as the ref steps in to stop the fight at the 2:22 mark of the 3rd round.

Winner: Cotto
Result: (TKO3)
Cards: 20-18 Cotto, 19-19, 20-18 Cotto
Punch stats: 38-168, 22.6% Rossy - 114-114, 100% (WHAT! Perfect thru 3!) Cotto

Winner: Ketchel
Result: (KO1)
Cards: N/A

Arguello remains unbeaten...

Alexis Arguello, Nicaragua, 1-0-0 (1) vs. Marvin Aguilar, Nicaragua, 4-8-0 (3)

Gimnasio Alexis Arguello, Managua, Nicaragua. Aguilar must be hungry, because all he has been eating for the 1st two rounds are leather sandwiches. Arguello sends Aguilar down in the 1st, 27-0, and continues to follow-up in the 2nd, 26-1. The fight is finally stopped at the 2:57 mark of the 3rd after Arguello continues to pepper Aguilar like it was a sparring session.

Winner: Arguello
Result: (TKO3)
Cards: 20-16, 20-16, 20-17 (WHAT!), all three cards in favor of Arguello
Punch stats: 12-50, 24% Aguilar - 124-351, 35.3% Arguello

* Arguello better win, there cant be any more of a HOME GYM advantage than that! I was going to change the venue site but I thought that it was kind of funny to see that!
