Bugner would like the chance to avenge his KO loss to David Haye. This might be a mistake as I don't like the matchup nor do I realy know much about Haye.

OK, its time for me to get some sleep. I will get those Danish files done tonight so that Kessler & NLP can choose an opponent and get some promotional fights completed. Whew, August 1954, has turned out to be a busy month!

*Go, when you see this, Clay did sign Winslow, but there are still a lot of my fictional fighters available on that list of US fighters. Let me know who you are interested in. I also have some from other parts of the world. Or if there is a real fighter that you are looking to sign, just give me some names. Oh yeah, man did I hate to see Stank lose that fight. Always depressed to see a fight stopped by a cut when I am anticipating something special. Same thing happened to Savon and Muckboys, just when they were on the verge of gaining a high ranking after the 10th fight.

Wow tough loss for Stankovich. Not sure what the heck happened, his opponent was not that great.

Attila is from Sweden, so I guess he would be of interest to you. He was 13-1-1 (9), but lost his last two fights to bad competition, Ken Shaw, Scotland (a "1" rated fighter)(TKO11) on 1954-05-26 and to Christophe Girard, France (TKO10) on 1953-12-15. Notable wins against Kevin McBride (KO3), Taoufik Belbouli (TKO2), Karl Mildenberger (TechDec7), William Iron Hague (KO1). Only other loss to Lennox Lewis (KO11). Ranked #402 in world right now even after those bad losses. Let me know if you want to sign him so I can take him off Bugner's list.

Here is a question for you just in case you do have an interest in signing a Swedish fighter...I have 39 files for Sweden, which means I only need to create 11 more to have a local title. What is the boxing organization called over there and its initials in case I do start it up for your country?
It is called the Swedish Boxing Federation (SBF). The professional boxing hasn't got a federation of its own as it has been banned in Sweden until last year.

Thank you. Do you mean that a pro boxing organization just started up last year by saying "that it has been banned until last year?" So the SBF is for amateur boxing, correct? I just finished the Danish files, check the next post for Kessler.

The SBF is amateur. They have something called the pro-boxing committe (sp) that governs the professional part.

What I meant was simply that we had the first pro-boxing event in Sweden for ages recently. Until now, every swedish professional boxer since the 60īs has been forced to fight outside Sweden due to a pro-boxing ban.

Wow, didnt know that. That has to be tough for any Swedish fighter to not have any kind of home advantage. Always have to travel to fight. Do you think that there will be more fighters starting careers there now that this new rule is in effect?

It wouldn't surprise me if pro-boxing would experience a "boom" in the near future. The ban was bound to be lifted sooner or later. It became ridiculous when it wasn't allowed to box professionally while there were no problems to arange or participate a K1 event.

We will put an early halt to Eric Jensen's career in August if we may.

Arguello wins the battle of the unbeatens...

Alexis Arguello, Nicaragua, 2-0-0 (2) vs Gilberto Amador, Nicaragua, 2-0-0 (2)

Estadio Denis Matinez, Nicaragua. "Bam Bam" Amador lands a nice straight right to start the fight but Arguello counters nicely and does a nice job of keeping distance between the two, 12-4. A 13-5, 2nd round for Arguello. Arguello is in trouble early in the 3rd and seems a little shaken up. Amador is showing why he is also undefeated and takes the 3rd, 15-8. Amador starts the 4th with an 11-0 flurry, but Arguello picks up some steam at the end of the round. The 4th ends up, 12-11, Amador. A devastating right cross puts Amador down and Arguello has a dominant 5th, 24-5. Arguello has taken the momentum of this fight as he has another big round, 21-4, in the 6th. Arguello is now landing punch after punch as Amador has completely faded in this fight after starting out strong. The fight has been stopped at the 2:21 mark of the 8th.

Winner: Arguello
Result: (TKO8)
Cards: 67-65, 68-64, 67-65, all cards in favor of Arguello
Punch stats: 113-421, 26.8% Amador - 237-457, 51.9% Arguello

Morales finishes Austin in a hurry...

Erik Morales, Mexico, 7-0-0 (6) vs Ray Austin, USA, 7-7-0 (6)

Twin Falls, ID, United States. Both fighters come into the ring in great condition. The first two rounds are pretty close. Austin lands a hard, low blow to Morales in the 1st and Morales does the same to Austin in the 2nd. A big, left uppercut, followed by a right hook to the head of Austin, puts him down in the 3rd. Austin gets to his feet and continues to take a beating as the ref finally steps in at the 2:58 mark of the the 3rd and stops the fight.

Winner: Morales
Result: (TKO3)
Cards: 20-19, on all three cards in favor of Morales
Punch stats: 40-58, 69% Austin - 90-205, 43.9% Morales

Cardenas/Savon II

Felix Savon, Cuba, 9-1-0 (8) vs Kid Cardenas, Cuba, 16-6-0 (12)

Monzanillo, Cuba. Cardenas and Savon meet up for the 2nd time as Cardenas won the previous meeting by (TKO7) and ended Savon's unbeaten record. Savon goes to work early and often in the 2nd and opens a cut under the right eye of Cardenas. We enter the 5th, and Cardenas has already been warned for a low blow and an intentional head-butt. Cardenas has a big 5th, 13-4. Savon has a nice 8th round, 13-0, in what has become an ugly, fouling, holding and dancing contest. Cardenas takes the 9th and 10th in a fight that seems to be getting closer on the scorecards. Savon lands a big right cross over a lazy jab by Cardenas and puts him down in the 11th. We enter the championship rounds as Cardenas sits on his stool fatigued and bleeding from a cut that has worsened. Savon clearly has this fight won in our opinion and all he has to do is avoid doing something that would leave him open to a big shot from Cardenas. Savon does just that and gets on his bike for the last round. We go to the cards.

Winner: Savon
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 147-141, 147-142, 147-141, all three cards in favor of Savon
Punch stats: 170-894, 19% Cardenas - 261-784, 33.3% Savon

I like the chances of the Villebillie stable to really impact the entire CABO region including local, LABA, CIBF, NABF titles. Morales had that one scare but everything else looks really good. And of course, I am a Cotto fan.

Rampage shows flashes of what was expected of him in this fight with Wilson...

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, USA, 7-2-0 (7) vs Ollie Wilson, USA, 9-2-0 (7)

Biloxi Grand Casino, Biloxi, MS, USA. Look out...a big right hook puts Wilson down at the :29 second mark of the 1st round! Jackson puts Wilson down again at the end of the round, but Wilson is able to get up and to his stool to gather himself. Rampage follows up with a 15-4, 2nd, and a 14-6, 3rd, as Wilson's left eye continues to swell shut. Another big round for Rampage, 24-2, in the 4th. Wilson is taking a beating, 36-2, and a short, clean combo by Rampage puts him down for good at the 2:04 mark of the 5th round.

Winner: Jackson
Result: (KO5)
Cards: 40-34, 39-35, 40-34, all three cards in favor of Jackson
Punch stats: 42-228, 18.4% Wilson - 179-505, 35.4% Jackson
