The loss to Tom Sharkey was the stunner, even though it was because of a cut. Chuck Norton, Jack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano were just tough fights.

So ends Cardenas pretty lengthy winning streak. Have to give Cardenas credit the dude is tough and he can turn a fight really ugly. This win so undo some of the damage from Savon's lose last month. Can't wait to see the rankings for the CNBF and the CABO to see how much Savon still has to do.

Can't get do much better then that. Napoles hammered the poor boy. I don't think Napoles will have to much trouble until he gets to the sub-regional level.

Good performance for Jackson hopefully he keeps working at this level next month for his big test.

After the Napoles and Savon fight...

These will be the rankings as it shows right now. I haven't fought any other Cuban or regions yet so the rankings make change a bit at the end of the month.

[2/32] Ivan Camacho, Cuba, 12-2-0 (11) - 1st up for CNBF title shot.
[3/38] Felix Savon, Cuba, 10-1-0 (8) - could possibly get an eliminator bout with Camacho for CNBF title shot?
[4/39] Yoan Pablo Hernandez, Cuba, 13-1-0 (7)
[5/42] Nino Valdes, Cuba, 16-5-0 (16)

You know Romy and I would probably be the best of freaking friends in person but we love going at each other here on the board. I'm freaking taking the Madden bus down to Florida to go out and tear crap up with Romy once he turns 21 LOL

Future Park, Bang-Wa, Phasricharoen, Thailand. 3K shows no jitters as he explodes in his first ever professional round, 19-2. A nice combination puts Wongsunthorn down at the end of the 3rd. He manages to get back up and recovers on his stool between rounds. A vicious hook ends the fight in the 4th round as 3K Battery has a strong showing in his professional debut.

Winner: Battery
Result: (KO4)
Cards: 30-26, on all three cards in favor of Battery
Punch totals: 30-68, 44.1% Wongsunthorn - 156-274, 56.9% Battery

European Boxing Union Championship

EBU Title Fight - Palasport, Trenzano, Italy

[Champion] Franco Cavicchi, Italy, 14-1-0 (10) vs EBU#2 Joe Calzaghe, UK, 14-0-0 (12)

Cavicchi is making his second defense of his EBU title while Calzaghe relinquishes his BBC crown after two successful defenses, for the opportunity at the EBU belt. Both fighters exchange blows in the 1st, 8-8, but the champ opens up and is able to get the better, 13-4, of his opponent. Calzaghe turns the tide in the 3rd, 12-0, as Cavicchi's defense was lagging. A 14-13, 4th, but the big news is that the champ is cut on the outside of his left eye. Cavicchi's corner showed some concern and told the champ that he needed to start to press the fight because of his bad cut. The champ responds and has a 15-4, 5th. An 18-3, 7th for the "Pride of Wales," as the ref has to step in between the fighters after the bell. Calzaghe is sensing a title as he scores a big 25-4, 8th. The champ's eye is of great concern now between rounds. The ringside physician has already come up to check the eye during the 8th. Calzaghe opens up the 9th with a flurry of punches that opens the cut and the fight is stopped at the 0:38 mark of the 9th round. Joe Calzaghe is the new EBU Champion.

Winner: Calzaghe
Result: (TKO9)
Cards: 77-76, on all three cards in favor of Calzaghe
Punch stats: 223-686, 32.5% Calzaghe - 138-401, 34.4% Cavicchi

Jockeygym sees a Galaxy and then plenty of stars...

Khaosai Galaxy, Thailand, Pro Debut vs Tingli Jockeygym, Thailand, Pro Debut

Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel, Cholburi, Thailand. Galaxy opens up his pro career with a 23-0, 1st and 23-5, 2nd. The crowd is up on their feet at the end of the 3rd as Galaxy ducks under a hook and lands a big uppercut that puts Jockeygym on his back. Galaxy puts Jockeygym on the canvas again in the 4th. He gets up and continues but is unable to protect himself and the ref stops the fight at the 1:34 mark of the 4th.

Winner: Galaxy
Result: (TKO4)
Cards: 30-26, on all three cards in favor of Galaxy
Punch stats: 12-30, 40% Jockeygym - 123-237, 51.9% Galaxy

Povetkin/Sosnowski II

Alexander Povetkin, Russia, 17-4-1 (11) vs Albert Sosnowski, Poland, 19-7-0 (11)

MOSiR Hall, Zabrze, Slaskie, Poland. This is a rematch of a previous fight which Sosnowski won by (UD15). The first three rounds are give and take and it will be hard for the judges to score. Povetkin is back in the ring after hurting his hand in his previous fight with Sosnowski. It may be a bit too soon in my opinion and it may be affecting his performance again tonight. He looks a bit sluggish and is not throwing with much frequency to this point of the fight. We enter the 7th and we have Sosnowski ahead although it could go either way at this point. Povetkin finally pushes forward and has an 19-8, 8th, his only clear-cut round to this point. After another close round in the 9th, Povetkin has a 9-0, 10th. Looks as though we may be going the distance again. Sosnowski is down at the beginning of the 12th, but the ref rules it a slip! No knockdown. But there is a big hook and this time it is a knockdown. Sosnowski is up at the count of two. A big, 19-2, 12th round for Povetkin. Povetkin ends the fight with an 8-0, last round, as the fight crawls to the finish line. For the second time, these two fighters go the distance.

Winner: Povetkin
Result: (UD15)
Cards: 147-141, 144-142, 144-143, all three cards in favor of Povetkin
Punch stats: 260-828, 31.4% Sosnowski - 314-1059, 29.7% Povetkin
