Would you expect anything less from Don King Productions?! Was able to buy out JCC's contract for cheap since Aztec Promotions went under. Now, he can get some real fights to prepare for the wars ahead in the MBF.

Actually, that was their first fight. I know there was a popular vote to have the Norton's square off in 1953, but Ken Norton was coming off that bad loss to Chuvalo, where George came back and stole the fight from Norton by knocking him out late after being behind the whole fight. I thought that Ken was going to do what Tyson did at first. Ken had a nice 1st round and kept up a good fight before the 6th. You just have to get to "No Doubt" before he unleashes his power. Doesn't look like he has fully recovered, mentally, from that loss to Tyson though.

Update...

To all promoters:

Almost done with this month, lots and lots of fights this month. Have two more title fights and some mass fight scheduling. Hopefully, will start posting opponent's lists later today (tonight). Check out the post about screenshots. Some promotional teams have open slots if they want to fill them. Best way to do it is to just pm me with some names of fighters that you are interested in. I am enjoying this interaction with the managing teams and am trying to do my best to keep it moving at a nice pace so that everybody has some action. I am really looking forward to the point when everybody has their fighters ranked and have opportunities for cross-promotional fights and title shots. I am even considering uping the max to 5. The only stipulation would be that each promoter would have to sign a fighter from a different region of the world. Only 3 out of 5 could be from the same region (CABO, EBU, ICBA, USBA). Let me know what you think about that idea. Is 4 enough? The one concern, is that the more fighters, the longer it takes to finish a month and progress with the uni. Open to opinions, thanks.

I'm cool with either 4 or 5 fighters. I think staying at 4 for now until we progress further along and more of our guys get ranked and get title shots then opening up a fifth slot would probably be best.

I agree .. once our guys age a bit it would be nice to bring along 1 or 2 young guys.

Plus, our guys won't be fighting every month once they get higher up in the rankings due to loses and mandatory title fights and such so that should lessen BTown's workload some and make it easier to schedule a fifth fighter.

- Good points, Mike and Rom. I will keep it at 4 for now and add to the max as the current fighters progress. It is a good idea to have a couple prospects coming up after the fighters you have are established and arent fighting such a regular schedule.

- Billy Goat Promotions, just shoot me a pm about who you are interested in, remember it can be a favorite fighter of yours in a different weight class and we will just adjust him.

-Chilton Promotions, still waiting on the announcement on which prospects you wanted to sign to contracts.

Just a reminder...

For everyone's information (just rehashing info in case there is some confusion):

By weight class adjustments all I mean is that I make a few personal, individual ratings adjustments. In this universe, just imagine that every single fighter in the world was born as a heavyweight (Hagler, Whitaker, Morales, Cotto, Calzaghe, Napoles, Arguello, etc all natural HW's). I dont have fighters come in at their weight class and then check the adjust for weight button. Each fighter comes in as a legitimate HW. Just the way I run the universe.

Billy Goat Promotions expands its reach into the EBU region...

Billy Goat Promotions has come to an agreement with Italian heavyweight, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, and will take over the management of his professional boxing career. Mancini has been looking for a reliable team to handle his affairs and can now concentrate on training to improve on his record of 2-0-0 (2).

Chilton Promotions signs two new prospects...

Chilton Promotions has decided to go abroad and takes over the management of the U.K.'s Bob Fitzsimmons, 18-2-0 (18), #112 in the world. This is a very big signing in the European Boxing Union and signifies Fitzsimmons frustration over the last few months with his prior management to secure big fights. Fitz has big wins over Frank Bruno (TKO8), Henry Akinwande (KO14), Cleveland Williams (KO8), Andrew Golota (KO2), Ray Mercer (KO12). His only two losses have been to Tom Sharkey (TKO6) and Evander Holyfield (KO13). Chilton also announces the signing of U.S. prospect, "Terrible" Terry McGovern. McGovern is an highly established amateur with an impressive record of 65-6-7 (44).
