Yep, one of those "once every five years" type games. The A-League is only in its 3rd season and that game broke the record for most goals in a game.

Football (soccer) has really grown in popularity here since we made the World Cup. The A-League features 8 teams, 3 of which are from New South Wales (my state), with one each from Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. There's also a New Zealand team in the league.

Before the A-League was formed the national competition featured an assortment of teams and a number of them were affiliated to other nations, as it was mainly migrants from Italy, Greece and other European countries who were interested in the sport. Team names like Melbourne Croatia, Brunswick Juventus and Marconi give you an idea what I'm talking about. Some of the supporters of these teams had some pretty heated, violent rivalries which gave the sport an image problem in Australia. However the A-League has eliminated that situation and it's been a great success so far.

Good to hear. I'm not a big fan, but the more options for sports viewing the better.

Yep, we've got plenty of them over here. Our soccer season actually starts in spring and goes into summer while the cricket is on. The tennis takes up January and then we've got rugby league, rugby union and Australian Rules football in the autumn/winter.

Basketball has lost a lot of popularity here in recent years, it's decline pretty much starting after Jordan retired. Our national league, the NBL, has struggled to attract fans.

That Shah Rukh Khan is one heck of an allrounder (musicals, action, comedy).

Don't mess with Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds.

Have a look at the youtube video at the bottom of the article.
