Yeah Gary makes great out of the box games .. I never got around to buying TPB mainly because my Pacers suck now and also if a game doesn't come out at the start of the season (like OOTP last year) I just won't buy it because I'll end up not playing.

I am definitely seasonal when it comes to all text sims except TBCB .. besides when I get sidetracked by another game my universe grinds to a halt LOL

There, that's off my chest.
Tonight he gave up five when they handed the ball to him with a 4 run lead!!!

Where's Nitti when you need a job done?

Forget to mention how my Tigers did on the weekend. They got their butts kicked, pure and simple. Lost to the Parramatta Eels 38-8, ending their six match winning streak. The Eels are a team the Tigers have had a lot of trouble against in recent years and this was their sixth straight win against us. We trailed 16-2 at halftime and it only got worse in the second half. They were too enthusiastic and aggressive for us, really just blew us off the park with some fantastic attacking play and concrete wall defense.

Tigers captain Brett Hodgson suffered multiple fractures of the left cheekbone plus eye socket after a sickening head clash with twenty minutes to play but stayed on the field until the end, even setting up the Tigers lone try. He'll need surgery and will be out for eight weeks. Below is a picture of him following the head clash:

How's the weather for everyone? Over here in Oz we're one week into winter and here in Sydney have had our best rain for some time during the last day or so. Winds have been so strong that a cargo ship has run aground up the coast in Newcastle.

Yep, been pretty crazy down here. It's 2.30am Saturday and my wife and I are up watching the French Open semi between Nadal and Djokovic. Great quality match between two young guns of the sport. Even though she has to be at work in eight hours, she still wants to watch it. She loves sport about as much as I do, especially the tennis.

You sure she doesn't just love Nadal? I know he's made my wife a tennis fan

Well, she was a tennis fan when we met in '99, so I don't think so. Her favourite all-time players are Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi, which is funny as they ended up getting married.

Anyone else excited about Amanda Beard being in the new playboy? Should get mine tomorrow or Monday at the latest. Usually when I hear who the cover model is I get it the next day or two.

someone made a funny pic of manny pacquiao, which is about his recent loss in the philippine elections... it's an edit of the movie poster for "300"

the text at the bottom means, "I got only 300 votes!"

sharing some personal thoughts

I mentioned the death of my mother in law on the forum and would like to share some thoughts

Family members gathered from all over the country for my mother in law, Pat van Melle's final visitation and burial. Ma (Pat) led an active and full life. She was looking forward to her forthcoming induction into the Homewood Village Hall of Fame this Fall. She had been an active leader in Girl Scouting for 45 years from the time when my wife, Liz, her eldest daughter, first
joined. She was deeply invlolved in the activities of St. Joseph Church and parrish. Pat was committedly involved with the Sand Ridge Nature Center and spearheaded many activities there such as Settler’s Day, and the Christmas Past celebration. Pat was a founding member of the Northwest Territorial Alliance (NWTA), a revolutionary war re-enactment group, and a
recepient of the NWTA's order of merit. After retiring as the technical services librarian at the Homewoood Public Library Pat remained active as volunteer with the library. Familiy members were astounded that members of three or four other community service groups that had worked with Pat came to say goodbye at the visitation. Back in 1991 Pat was a senior
contestent on Jeopardy. Although opposed, in principle, to the war, Pat filled her recreational time when not reading knitting helmet liners for the
troops while watching TV. She was a very remarkable lady. All of us whose lives she touched so profoundly shall miss her.

As great as that issue is ... Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon is either on the cover or at least in the next one .. I'm assuming if they got her to pose she is on the cover

She was. And she also taught my wife how to cook.

The number of young adults who came to the visitation and told us she was one of the three most influential people in their lives was amazing. Pat will live on in all of the ways she touched our hearts.
