I actually got the idea from JCWEBs universe.. It'll be fun to see how far i can take a 'average' fighter like Leroy Jones.

I doubt that Mel Turnbow's stint at the Garden will last too long, but maybe he'll surprise me!

Larry Holmes pro debut v Larry Frazier 7-1-0 (4), 6 rounds

The 1972 olympic gold medalist is kicked off with a very tough test against Larry Frazier whose loss came to belgiums Lanceloot Heyndrickx (14-15-7).

Holmes started out in brutal fashion as he landed 55 punches in the 1st round before the ref stopped the fight as Frazier was defenseless.

Larry Holmes wins by KO 1 as he improves to 1-0-0 (1)

Mike Weaver 9-0-0 (6) v Mel Turnbow 23-16-2 (4), 8 rounds

Weaver was just too much for Turnbow as he Kayo'ed Turnbow in the 3rd.

Mike Weaver improves to 10-0-0 (7) with a KO 3.

Jerry Quarry 31-5-0 (25) v Pedro Agosto 24-9-0 (16), 10 rounds

Quarry seems to have got his career up and running again with 3 straight wins against Buster Mathis, Gianni Chiaromonte and Jack O'Halloran. Quarry was originally IBF champ with a record of 27-0. He then ran into Joe Frazier and as expected lost. The big fall came with his two losses against Al Jones. Then he decided to step it a bit down in class as he wanted to face 'new kid on the block' Pedro Agosto who had just beat Buster Mathis in a big upset and many at that point considered it to be one lucky fight. Quarry lost a split decision. Here is the rematch finally;

Quarry hurts Agosto in the 1st. Agosto wins a big 2nd. Quarry just slightly edges the 3rd. Agosto is knocked down with a big hook in the 4th. As he rises, Quarry is all over him and sends him down again. Agosto rises once again only to face a firing squad in Quarry as he got pounded defenseless before the ref stepped in!

Jerry Quarry TKO 4 Pedro Agosto

Quarry finally got his revenge and improves to 32-5-0 (26) and could be making another run at glory.

66-66, 66-66, 67-65 Foreman.

I have it split in thee groups;

Begin: I take the number of fighters in the group (83) and divide it with 4.5 and that's the number of fights i schedule for that group.

83/4,5 = 18,44 = 18 begin fights

Club: Same thing as above, although i divide it with 5,5

Top: Same thing as above, although i divide it with 6,5

World: This is the top 10 plus the champs that there are (EBU, NABF etc). I matchmake for these fighters in a 'logical way'.

Peralta to defend LABA title

Argentinan LABA champ Gregorio Peralta (37-13-1 with 22 KO's) will defend his LABA title against Puerto Rican Jose Roman (24-8-0 with 7 KO's) in April on the undercard of Norton v Martin.

Foreman possibly fighting Al Jones

It has been rumoured that both George Foreman (25-0-0 with 25 KO's) and Al Jones (32-5-0 with 7 KO's) has shown interest in fighting eachother. Jones would ofcourse have to get by his March fight against Jurgen Blin.

Changing of the guard

There seem to be a changing of the guard slowly happening as new fighters are taking over at the moment. George Foreman, Ken Norton, Earnie Shavers, Jimmy Young. All are fairly new kids on the block. At the same time alot of the former stars seem to be fading away. Muhammad Ali, George Chuvalo, Gregorio Peralta, Leotis Martin, Oscar Bonavena and Jerry Quarry was the stars a little while ago, but the last couple of years has been going downhill for these fighters.

The ring rankings:

Ch: Joe Frazier 32-3-0 (31)
1. George Foreman 25-0-0 (25)
2. Ken Norton 27-2-0 (23)
3. Al Jones 32-5-0 (7)
4. Al Lewis 29-2-2 (17)
5. Earnie Shavers 23-1-0 (20)
6. Dave Zyglewicz 32-6-0 (23)
7. Leotis Martin 33-10-2 (19)
8. Oscar Bonavena 33-8-0 (26)
9. Jimmy Young 24-0-0 (10)
10. Gregorio Peralta 37-13-1 (22)

Mammoth Gardens, Denver, Colorado

Leroy Jones pro debut v Barry Werther 12-24-5 (1), 6 rounds

Pro debut for 1972 olympic quarter finalist, Leroy Jones. Note that i've 'taken control of this figher' meaning i will matchmake for him and pick his strategys etc all the way through his career. You will be able to read about all of his bouts. The right opponent took some time to find, cause i needed someone who wouldn't be able to beat Jones, but someone who doesn't go down with the first time he is hit.

Normal
1st round: Jones starts off countering well for about two minutes. Werther lands a small hook but that's the only of his punches that gets through. 10/9 Jones

Fight outside offensive
2nd round: Jones completely outboxes Werther as he outlands him 41-0 in punches. 20/18 Jones

Go for controlled KO
3rd round: Jones lands big punches and lands 53 punches to 0 in the round. 30/27 Jones

Go for controlles KO
4th round: Jones wins another huge round, but can't get Werther down. 40/36 Jones

Go all out for KO
5th round: Jones rains combinations on Werther and sends him down. He stands at the count of 8. Jones follows up and sends Werther down again with a cross. Werther is counted out!

Leroy Jones wins a KO 5 as he improves to 1-0-0 (1). He had some trouble getting Werther down, but suceeded in the end. Good pro debut.

The two has met each other once before, Ziggy won a TKO 8. Ventura got the shot by defeating italian Bruno Giansanti.

Ventura wins 1st round big. Ziggy wins 2nd. Ziggy edges the 3rd. Big 4th for Ziggy. Ventura is cut in the 5th above his right eye. Ziggy wins the round. Venturas cut worsens too much in the 6th and can't continue making it a succesful defence for Ziggy.

Dave Zyglewicz wins TKO 6 and improves to 33-6-0 (24). Ziggy threw 517-195 punches, but only outlanded Ventura 156-101. Ziggy had a accuracy of 30,2 % while Ventura landed 51,8 % of his shots.

Muhammad Ali 42-3-0 (34) v Oscar Bonavena 33-8-0 (26), 12 rounds

Muhammad Ali's comeback attempt continues against argentine Oscar Bonavena. The two fighters has fought once before; in April 1970. The results was a TKO 15 win for Ali.

1st round: Not much happens for about 2 minutes, until Ali comes strong with fast combinations to win the round. 10/9 Ali

6th round: Ali wins a huge round, outboxing Bonavena in every way as he outlands him 40-0. Second round of the night without Bonavena landing a single shot. 60/55

7th round: Alis jab is outboxing Bonavena on it's own. Everytimes Bonavena approaches Ali, he is quickly tagged with a combination. 70/64 Ali

8th round: Bonavenas cut is worsening and has turned into a bloody mess. The ref breaks in to stop the fight!

Muhammad Ali TKO 8 Oscar Bonavena

Cards at the end were: 69-64, 69-64 and 68-65 in favour of Ali.

Muhammad Ali showed that he's not shot, with a impressive win against a top class opponent as he improves to 43-3-0 (35) while Oscar Bonavena moves to 33-9-0 (26).

Joe Frazier 32-3-0 (31) v Jimmy Young 24-0-0 (10), 15 rounds for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world!

The WBO belt will be on the line.

Joe Frazier has been extremely dominating facind and beating some of the very best. Muhammad Ali three times, as he is to date, the only man to beat Ali. Ernie Terell, Doug Jones, Oscar Bonavena, Gregorio Peralta, Jerry Quarry, Buster Mathis, Leotis Martin and Ken Norton is just some of the names on a very impressive resume.

Jimmy Young has beaten some good competition, but this will no doubt be a much harder opponent that anyone he's ever fought. Victories against Manuel Ramos, Jose Urtain, Mani Vaka, Roger Russell, an old Buster Mathis, Jack O'Halloran and Pedro Agosto are good names, but cannot be compared to Fraziers resume.

Jimmy Young will be trying to keep Frazier away with his fast hands and his Ali like defence. He is also one of the few who has the stamina to go far with Joe Frazier.

Joe Frazier will be looking to swarm and body attack Young all night, and all points towards him being succesfull at it.

Frazier gets up at the count of 5. Young lands a sharp combination! There is a both way exchange. Young lands a short uppercut. 95/94 Young

Youngs eye is completely swollen shut.
For the first time of Fraziers' career, he will fight more than 10 rounds.

11th round: Frazier lands a sweet uppercut! Frazier lands to the chest and neck of Young. Young rips a hook to the body. Frazier lands a huge body blow. Young scores with a hook. He lets it continue. Frazier lands a jab. Frazier lands a hook to the body and lands a wicked right hook that sends Young down! Young shows amazing heart, getting up at the count of 9. Frazier jumps in and smothers Young with a barrage of punches that sends Young down for the third time of the round!! The three knockdown rule is in effect!

Joe Frazier TKO 13 Jimmy Young!

What a great fight! Young took Frazier longer than he ever has, and gave him one of the toughest fights of his career as he has just cemented himself as a bigtime player, in a losing effort!

Scorecards were: 114-113 Frazier, 114-113 for Jimmy Young & 114-113 for Jimmy Young.

Joe Frazier improves to 33-3-0 (32) as he defends his WBO title. Jimmy Young moves to 24-1-0 (10) as he receives the first loss of his career, and what a loss!

1st March, 1973

Frazier v Foreman set for July 21st!

WBO champ Joe Frazier (33-3-0 with 32 KO's) will face WBA champ George Foreman (25-0-0 with 25 KO's) in a big unification bout. This is without a doubt, the biggest fight that could possibly be made at this point! Joe Frazier has been dominant, and has beaten every mentionworthy opponent in the HW division, expect for Foreman. George Foreman has been stepping it up again and again lately. KO wins against Oscar Bonavena, Mac Foster, Gregorio Peralta and Dave Zyglewicz gave him the shot to face fellow undefeated Earnie Shavers for the vacant WBA belt. Foreman won a brutal war by 8th round KO. Foreman has 11 1st round KO's while Frazier has 5. Foreman is expected to hold superior power, while Fraziers chin, stamina and agression could make a difference.

Muhammad Ali scheduled against USBA Champ Dave Zyglewicz

Muhammad Ali (43-3-0 with 35 KO's) will challenge Dave Zyglewicz (33-6-0 with 24 KOs) for his USBA title in June. This looks to be another step in Alis comeback after defeating Oscar Bonavena by an impressive 8th round TKO, in a fight where Bonavena never stood a chance. Ali will be the favourite to overcome Zyglewicz, who holds a great chin.

Al Lewis looks to rebound against Ron Stander

Al Lewis (29-2-2 with 17 KOs) will rebound from his December 1972 loss to Ken Norton, as he faces Ron Stander (18-4-2 with 7 KOs) in June.

The ring rankings

Ch. Joe Frazier 33-3-0 (32)
1. George Foreman 25-0-0 (25)
2. Ken Norton 27-2-0 (23)
3. Al Jones 32-5-0 (7)
4. Dave Zyglewicz 33-6-0 (24)
5. Al Lewis 29-2-2 (17)
6. Earnie Shavers 23-1-0 (20)
7. Leotis Martin 33-10-2 (19)
